Fog City dinner is a taste of San Francisco's hospitality and character, just a stones throw away from The Embarcadero. We ran in as the rain started to pour on a winter morning, and Fog City had everything that a solid diner could imagine to have. Wonderful seating variety with great views, immediate seating, incredibly friendly staff with recommendations galore, nice restrooms, and cocktails served at the prime time of 11 am. You will see a myriad of San Franciscans enjoying their time at the diner, from men reading newspapers with their morning coffee, to a date for two old lovers, to even massive family gathering that take up 3+ tabletops. All are going on at the same time, but sound is nicely distributed around the dining area that you see the liveliness and don't hear the chaos (and can hear your own party)! The entire journey at Fog City honestly felt like being in a sitcom episode. We settled on having a lightly boozy brunch with a few selected drinks and a simple cheese wood fired pizza. After we ordered, the hostess brought us a glass bottle of water and cups without request which felt very homey. I cannot stress the attention to the dining experience this establishment had for a streetside diner with the wood platter that accompanies the pizza, presentation of drinks and food, and the obvious care that was put into the preparation of each component. The pizza is actually so so good. The cheese had a perfect melt, the tomato didn't overpower, the basil was just the perfect garnish. Then, the drinks were strong but still kept to their described flavors.

What a cute little place. It's in between Pier 39 and the ferry building. My niece and I stopped because we thought it looked very cute. The inside was very comfortable. it's appearance was a bit on the retro side. Loved it.The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I got the fried chicken sandwich it had coleslaw, onions, and a tomato on it. It came with fries. It was delicious and I had enough for a second meal. My niece had the hamburger and she said it was very good cooked just the way she liked it.

Fog City was an excellent stop between Alcratraz and the Exploratorium near the Pier. Portions definitely vary depending on the entree, but between three friends who had a fried chicken burger, steak and eggs, and pesto chicken pizza, there were definitely no complains, and the water was refiled pretty quick. There wasn't much of a wait on Saturday afternoon, and within ordering our food was out within 15 minutes. Our server even checked in on our food when only two of three entrees arrived. The chicken pesto pizza was as expected. The pizza was thinner, with a generic crispier crust. The pesto and fresh mozzarella was tasty, accented with chicken that was a little on the drier side. As mentioned earlier, this is definitely on the pricier side - SF, duh! - but the food was delicious and just enough to fill each of us up!

Food was good but service a little slow. Went here for dinner and drinks since we love the movie How I Married an Axe Murderer. Place is more modern than the movie but it gives nostalgia from the diner scene. It was not crowded on a Friday night at 7. We made a reservation but didn't need it. It took a while to get a server to come to our table. Food came at a decent pace but getting another drink order in was hard as most patrons were sat in a different area for our server. We shared the Mac and cheese to start. I got the fried chicken and my partner ordered the brisket. The Mac and cheese was really good and so was my chicken! The brisket entree tasted good but both of us are very confident we actually got short ribs. The consistency was not like smoked or BBQ brisket. The entree was really tasty but just not as expected. Even serving it with polenta seems odd for brisket.Decent drink menu but nothing super innovative.

This iconic diner in The City is back strong under new management. Went with a business friend for brunch, and we found street parking across the street. We were seated right away, and ordered hazy IPAs (it was a warm day) while we perused the menu. He ordered a burger and fries, I opted for the fish tacos. Food arrived quickly, and we inhaled it as it was so good! For dessert, we split a key lime pie, which was tangy and delicious (with graham cracker crust!) and paired superbly with our cappuccinos! Will be back!

We walked across the street after we dropped off our luggage. We wanted something nearby and at first, we thought about going to Fisherman's Wharf, but we were so glad we came here instead. We did not have reservations, but we were seated right away. Did not catch our server's name, but she was upbeat, friendly, warm, and swift. We ordered the meatballs, cheeseburger, and fried chicken. My beef patty came out rare as requested. It was delicious. I didn't try the fried chicken, but I did try their coleslaw. It was fresh and crunchy w/ a slight hint of tartness. The meatballs were tender. Food was great.Ambiance was great. Our server was incredible.

Our group of 6 went on July 4 before the fireworks so it was very busy! Luckily we were seated quickly and, despite the crowd, service was good. We ordered truffle fries, brussel sprouts, and calamari for appetizers. It was definitely pricey for smaller portions, but tasted pretty good. I wasn't a huge fan of the brussel sprouts - not as crispy or flavorful as I hoped.I got the bouillabaisse because I love seafood! It was pricey but I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size and the hearty amount of seafood in the broth. The dipping bread was really savory too. I was definitely full by the end. My friends got other dishes and drinks, pictures included.
