San Fransisco is not short on good Italian Restaurants. The thing is narrowing down which ones to try during your stay. Fino should definitely be added to your list to try.It is located in a hotel but it also has an entrance from an alleyway. We were greeted with smiling faces and staff ready to help make our dining experience a positive one. They brought coloring sheets and crayons for our boys while we waited to order which made our boys feel extra welcomed. We began with the Minestrone Soup and Beef Carpaccio. Both starters were delicious. For our main course, we enjoyed the Mussel and Claims, the Grilled Salmon with vegetables and risotto, the Gnocchi and the Veal Marsala. Our family could not have been more pleased with our experience at Fino. The only thing we would do differently is order dessert next time as we had a tickets to a college basketball game that led us to forgo dessert during this visit.Thank you Fino for an exceptional meal!

Food: 4/5Service: 4/5Price: 4/5Atmosphere: 4/5TL;DR: It's a nice and cozy Italian restaurant that I'll def be coming back to. It's located inside the Andrews Hotel but there's also an entrance in the back alley where there is some parking. The inside is a little small but the tables are far enough apart where you don't feel cramped and it feels more intimate. The service is great & the staff is really nice. My family was visited so we decided to give Fino a try & at the end of the dinner, they kept telling us to take them back the next time they visit.Calamari Fritto (*5/5*): this was sooo good; really light & crispy batter that's seasoned well, and it came with warm marinara sauce -- can't go wrong with this oneCozze o Vongole (*5/5*): really rich & kind of creamy sauce that went really well with the few pieces of toasted bread it came with. the mussels & clam were delicious as wellCarparccio di Manzo (*3/5*): I wasn't a big fan of this; the meat was really good but it was kind of bland and lackingGamberi con Rigatoni alla Vodka (*4/5*): this was delicious -- the sauce is so good, rich & creamy, and def one of the better vodka pastas we've had; just wish that the portion was a little biggerLinguine con Cozze o Vongole (*3.5/5*): I was quite excited for this since the appetizer was delicious but the sauce wasn't quite the same. The sauce tasted a little more watered down and less rich & flavorful (maybe because this is a pasta & not just the seafood)Linguine Frutti de Mare (*3/5*): least favorite dish of the night; the pasta was cooked really well, love how they gave us big pieces of shrimp & scallop; but there was too much bell pepper in the dish which watered down the sauce -- so the sauce was kind of bland and it had a strong bell pepper taste to itDessert (*4/5*): all the desserts here are delicious

We loved everything about this old school establishment. We were referred by SF locals and were not dissatisfied! Clearly it's where the locals go, as the wait staff greeted and said goodbye to people that seemed like old friends. The bread. The bread and I salted butter were divine. I had chicken piccata and it was a super lemony perfection of the most tender of chicken breast. We had a pizza that was thin crusted and delicious. The tira misu was probably the best I've had. Great spot.

Food, excellent Service, amazing Ambiance, the perfect Italian bistro vibe. While visiting San Francisco to celebrate our anniversary we switched up our Italian restaurant selection from a previous visit and enjoyed the most wonderful dining experience at Fino. Everything about the meal was spot on. The pre meal beverage recommendation, and antipasto were both excellent. The ravioli with three cheeses was excellent and I want a big bowl of that sauce as soup with my next grilled cheese sandwich. My husband had the pasta carbonara and all reports were that is was one of the best he has had. The creme brulee was the perfect crust/creamy balance and our server, Alma, completed the perfect evening. If you are in San Francisco and anywhere near Union Square, make a reservation and treat yourself.

The concierge at our hotel recommended Fino. He made a reservation for us, which is highly recommended. It is a small restaurant located c in a lower level small hotel. I would say it is a boutique restaurant. It is the kind of place you'd expect in The City. It is Italian and much of the food is made in house, including the pasta. We had Lasagna the first night as well as Shrimp and scallops on linguine. Both were very good. We actually came back two nights later which tells you how good it was. This time we spot the Chicken Marsala which was excellent. We also had the minestrone which was 100% homemade. For dessert we split the Lava Cake which was amazing. Fino is one of our new favorite places in San Francisco.

One of our favorite Italian restaurants in the city! Small, cozy place. Friendly staff. Pasta Abruzzi is our favorite since it has a few different proteins. Pasta was a perfect al dente. I also like how big the prawns are. They were able to substitute sauces, we've changed the gnocchi and ravioli to a pesto sauce. The pesto is delicious! Tiramisu is delicious as well, but I don't necessarily need the fruits with it. Will be coming back of course!

Fino Ristorante was arguably the highlight of our trip to S.F. very near our hotel, Marriott union Square. Our waiter, Charles, called to confirm and we were delighted with Fino's ambiance, menu selections (gluten free fettuccine). The food was great and Charles was informative, attentive and accommodating. We asked the concierge at our hotel to make Fino a recommendation to other guests inquiring about local restaurants.
