First - ambiance. The place was so beautiful! The decor wasn't over the top and it felt cozy but unique at the same time. The tables were deep leaving lots of room for sharing food.Drinks:Bazaar Paloma - 4.5/5 - Delicious with subtle spices. Lady Marmalade 4.5/5 - loved it, ordered another one La Guadalitini 3/5 - maybe better suited for someone else Everything But The Gimlet -4.5/5 - Very Refreshing Starters:Bellweather Farm Ricotta 4/5 Eylan Crispy Chicken 6/5Pani Puri 6/5Breads:Dungeness Crab Mutabar 5/5Eylan Eye 4.5/5Small Plates:Anar Chicken Sigri Kebab 4/5King Trumpet Mushrooms 4.5/5Large Plates:Akaushi Wagyu Ribeye 4.5/5Hispi Cabbage 4.5/5Service: phenomenal, from the hostess, our server, the other waiters and the manager. We felt so taken care of. We had a minor mishap, not a big deal and they went above and beyond to fix it and make us feel so special. Note: the restroom is behind a door, then down a long hall, through another door, and into a small bright corridor with doors to the restrooms. We will definitely be coming back to try their other dishes!

We're always looking for Indian fine dining in the Bay Area so we're super excited to try eylan. They have a beautiful earthy ambience and ample parking in the building. We tried the buttermilk pani puri which was an interesting take on the traditional, would definitely recommend trying it, for true pani puri lovers, it doesn't come close to the original flavor though. The flaxseed bread with dips (raita, thecha and Bharta) was a fantastic way to upgrade a lot of dishes we typically wouldn't expect to see in a fine dining. The most delicious of them all was their tandoori chicken. Mains are a little limited on options especially for vegetarians and those who don't necessarily enjoy gamey meat, we ended up trying the cauliflower which was great but nothing extraordinary. The dessert (chai tea sundae) was quite disappointing with very strong chai masala flavor, it could be a winner if they focused more on the tea flavor!

I had a truly delightful experience today! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by the most polite and gracious hosts. I had initially owed them an apology for my first comment about their new opening, but they handled it with such calmness and appreciation. Our dining experience was exceptional. We were escorted to our table, where our server, Suzanna, provided outstanding service. She was incredibly warm, always smiling, and gave us excellent vegetarian recommendations. Every dish she suggested was a hit!We absolutely loved the buttermilk pani puri, BBQ mushrooms, and the flavorful cabbage dish served with romali roti. I only wish they had jackfruit biryani on the menu for vegetarians!Beyond the food, the restaurant itself was impeccably clean and elegantly designed. It's a perfect spot for a refined and enjoyable dining experience.

Came to check out this new restaurant for my husband's birthday dinner. Being the sister restaurant of well known Ettan & Copra, we were indeed very excited for our meal here. Of course, we were also excited to check out what they have brought in terms of decor to this new establishment, as the decor at their other 2 restaurants is quite exceptional. This one didn't disappoint us. My only complaint though was the lighting was way too low. We got the bellweather farm ricotta, celeriac & pineapple kebab, chicken yakhni pulao and the Indian milk cake ice cream. The ricotta dish was decent. Pineapple kebab was outstanding with the tandoor char and the sauce it came in. The chicken in the yakhni pulao was cooked very soft and tender. But, I don't know if $32 justifies that quantity. They gave the condiments for only half of a small vessel. When we ran out of raita, we asked for some more and they said there will be an extra charge for it, which I felt isn't the right thing for them to do. The milk cake ice cream was wonderful, definitely try it. Our server Daisy gave exceptional service. They also gave a small mango sorbet with a candle knowing that it's my husband's birthday. Overall it was a good experience, would love to come back again for another occasion to try other dishes on the menu.

Came by for dinner the other night and it was a phenomenal experience. Eylan is under the same ownership as Ettan in Palo Alto and Copra in San Francisco, both featured in the Michelin guide. I'm super glad that they finally opened as I've been waiting for over a year.Made a reservation at 5 am 2 weeks ago and managed to secure a reservation via OpenTable. Parking is plentiful in the parking garage underneath the restaurant. There is plenty of overflow parking spaces on the street level a few buildings over too. There was a Ferrari parked next to my rice rocket. Ayusha helped us for dinner and suggested that we do 2-3 snacks, 1 bread, and 2 entrees for our party of 2. Ayusha suggested the most premium items on the menu of which we picked about half.Started off with the Dungeness Crab Mutabar and it was decent. There was plenty of dungeness crab and the dough skin could have been crispier. I've had my fair share of gigantic murtabaks in Singapore over the years and definitely miss them! The Charred Black Cod as the entree was world class. The black cod was charred to perfection, especially the super crispy skin. The cod underneath the skin was super tender and flavorful. The rice complemented with this perfectly. The Eylan Crispy chicken was also excellent. Super crispy and flavorful chicken thighs served with a tasty dipping sauce. The Akaushi Wagyu Rib Eye was world class and it came out a perfect medium rare as requested. Flavor was on point and the marbling was fantastic! I loved the charred broccolini that complemented the rib eye although I found the paratha to be weak.Ended off the meal with the masala sundae which was fantastic. The homemade ice cream made this a fresh and refreshing way to end off the meal.Service throughout the evening was fantastic with Ayusha checking in on us during every course and bringing us new silverware for each course. The rest of the service staff did a fantastic job explaining each course as they dropped off each dish. The vibe of the restaurant was definitely on the louder side making intimate conversations more challenging.~$120/head after tax and gratuity for dinner with leftovers!

Came here on a Friday night around 8, the place was popping! LOVELY ambiance, honestly didn't even feel like Menlo Park. More like NY or LA?? Hats off to the owners for creating a chic, romantic, and elegant atmosphere. Perfect for date night.Service was exceptional too - and very formal! You will not be forgotten about...Taro root chaat and chai sundae were my favorite dishes. Squash blossom was great too. The crab bread, fried chicken, and trumpet mushrooms were OK - not my favorite. Chai sundae deserves a second mention - what do they put in that!! Soft decadent texture, not too heavy, deliciously chai like. Would come back just for that...

Nestled in the first floor of an office complex like setup, Eylan is the latest addition to Bay Area's growing collection of Indian cuisine restaurants with distinctive food offerings. Our dinner experience was great, the ambience and service are top notch.Food options we loved were the Anar Chicken Sigri Kebab and the Flaxseed Poee's avocado thecha. The Eylan Crispy Chicken is delicious but tad bit oily to our taste. We didn't really get the Eylan Eye, but did enjoy the King Trumpet Mushrooms rendition. Lastly the Yakhani Pulao was well made, portion wise there was more meat than rice. Overall great to see another fine dining restaurant with an "experience". A great addition to the Indian dining scene and will come back to see how the menu evolves as the chef continues experimenting and creating new recipes.

Our group of four was excited to make a Thurs night reservation here during its early opening months. Given our experience at sister location Ettan, we had high hopes. We dressed biz casual for the night. Inside, the decor and ambiance were nice, though the lighting was a bit dark and the tables are very close together. It was kind of hard to hear your tablemates over the bustling of the restaurant. I guess that bodes well for a newly minted restaurant, but maybe not as ideal for a conversational table. You get the feeling they really tried to cram as many tables as possible in an awkward, not-big-enough-space. The restrooms were nice and clean enough, though you'll feel like you're dining and dashing to find them lol.I do have musings on why an Indian restaurant especially would not clearly display what's vegetarian or not on each menu line item. Hopefully they've fixed that by now. In terms of dishes, there were a couple standouts* for us, but overall we were not that impressed. Would give 3.5 stars.Chilled Green Grape Chaas $15 for 6 pani purisTaro Root Chaat $15 for 2 pieces *Anar Chicken Sigri Kebab $18 King Trumpet Mushrooms $17Hispi Cabbage $29*Panch Saag Parsnip and Tofu $28Jalapeño NaanLatcha ParathaRomali RotiThe chicken kebab was a pleasant surprise of the night and my personal fav. It was super tender and flavorful! Came with a chutney but I didn't even need it. The panch saag parsnip and tofu was also delicious! If I had to pick a third place for the night, I'd say the king trumpet mushrooms were flavorful and an easy dish to share, though it certainly looked a bit underwhelming.

Had dinner here yesterday. It was an average experience. Not sure if we will return. Not many options for vegetarians For drinks, we ordered the Tamarind drink which was really good and Nero red wine which was ok.For appetizer we ordered the Kebab which was good and Yoghurt chaat which was ok For main course we ordered the King oyster mushrooms which were truly really good. The patch palak was below average. The breads we got were Lachha paratha and dry fruit stuffed naan and they were drenched in butter, below average. Our server Ayesha was really nice and efficient.

Great restaurant and my favorite out of Ettan & Copra. Note: my review is very fish and meat focused (not vegetarian). If you are a fan of wood-fired dishes, you will love Eylan. The location of Eylan is better than Copra, in my opinion. Ettan's dishes were also not as well prepared as Eylan's. Lastly, the interior of Eylan seems a bit more trendy and nice compared to Ettan (comparable to Copra but more tight knit/smaller place overall). Parking at the restaurant is very easy. There is a parking garage (careful if you have a low car as the slope is steep) directly underneath the restaurant with an elevator that you can take to the first floor. Eylan will be the big door right after you step out of the elevator. We had a reservation at 5pm and were seated immediately. Service was great! Table was cleaned and dishes cleared after almost every dish. Water was also refilled very promptly.Drink: Techies, Guns & Money (4/5) this drink was made like an old fashioned and was definitely on the stronger side. I don't typically like old fashions but there was a pandan leaf on it that helped bring a slight nuttiness to the drink. Appetizers were both 5/5!Crispy chicken - very nicely fried. Crispy/crunchy yet the batter still felt light when you chewed it. The chicken was very soft and could have been pieced up using a fork. The house chili aioli paired very well and wasn't insanely spicy but gave a good kick and spice. Hamachi - very surprised with this dish. Hamachi was very fresh. The masala buttermilk gave a slight creaminess to the hamachi, which paired well with the crunchiness of the sesame leaf pakoda. The leaf itself didn't have a strong taste but it was a great crispy vessel for the hamachi.Bread: we opted for the Eylan Eye (3.5/5) which was a disappointment when eaten by itself. The bread was soft and a little flaky, but I did not taste any truffle. For $28, I would not order this again. Even though the taste wasn't all there, when the bread was combined with the crispy chicken, it was quite nice. I would opt for one of the cheaper bread options next time.Wood Fire Grill:Chicken and lamb kebab: (4.5/5) again, the chicken was even softer than the crispy chicken and had a slight char/crisp to the edges. Tasty, especially with the masala on the side. The lamb had a nice chili ghee at the bottom of the plate which was not spicy but did give a hint of spiced flavor to the lamb. I actually think the lamb had slightly more spice and flavor to it than the chicken. The lamb could easily be separated with a fork as well - very tender. I wish we would have got extra bread or some sort of carb to balance out the richness of the chicken and lamb. Black cod - (4.5/5) nicely cooked and came apart easily with a fork or knife. Some parts of the skin were slightly over salted, but once you got past that, it was great. The curry sauce came on the side so you could pour it over your rice and fish. It was a lighter curry in my opinion but it worked well with the lightness of the cod. The entire dish felt very clean and not rich. Dessert - Masala Sundae (5/5) great dessert that had a great mix of crunch, sweetness, and softness from the ghee cake. It was not overly sweet at all and the chai wasn't too overbearing (I don't typically like chai). This was a great way to end the meal!
