This is my favorite market in the city. I enjoy getting my European groceries here. Although there is a language barrier, that doesn't stop the kind assistance you get if you ever need it. The place is small yet packed with tons of pantry staples.

Definitely check your receipt well before leaving. I ended up charged $22.48 for 2.5 lbs of "chocolate candy". I did not buy any candy, and there was a clear counter before & after me checking out, so an unintentional cashier mistake is unlikely.Surely made me time-travel to the "good old" Moscow life, when this is how cashiers "earned their living".I've been trying to call their number to complain for two days now. No one ever picks the phone.Thievery!

I would give this place 0 star if I could. As other people mentioned in their reviews, they do add random stuff to your receipt. Not only that, they also put one price on the shelves underneath the product, and at the cashier's the price magically changes to much higher. When I asked the cashier about the discrepancy, she said "if you don't want, don't buy." Grossly rude and chokingly inappropriate. I am unclear how businesses like this with very questionable practices don't get screened and audited? I am not even talking about their lack of customer service. The rudeness and bad manners are on another level.

My favorite russian grocery store in SF. Never had bad or expired produce bought there, which is a big deal and happens often, if you shop at other russian stores. I thinknits because many people shop often there, hence quick turn out. Lowest prices. They sell Spartak belarusian candies - my childhoods favorite! Aeroflotskie, Chernomorskie, Griljazh... Thank you for being around!

My husband and I were so happy we found this place! It literally felt like home to him. The people are nice Russian family that truly make sure you have everything you need. They have almost everything an actual Russian grocery store would have! Also, They had Kvass which was what we were looking for! If you haven't tried Kavass before head over to this grocery store and try it! It's definitely worth it. 5 STARS!Below, I have translated in Russian just in case a foreigner reads.

This store was on my way to my Muni stop from my usual Russian store in the area, New World Market . New World Market is doing some renovations and although I spent around 100$ there and had a full bag of goodies, I decided to check out Europa Plus, as well . Big mistake ! I bought a few items for 32 some dollars from this store, too.At the exit, this guy asked to check my bag with goodies from the New Word Market. Surprising but ok. He picks out a kefir bottle I bought at New World Market from the bottom of my first shopping bag and tells me 'this is ours' . He saw me enter with my first shopping bag from New World Market so this was totally uncalled for. I said 'no', he said 'yes' . i said 'no' again, he said 'it's ours' again. I got angry and looked for the New World Market receipt in my first bag and showed it to him . He went through the list , saw the item and said 'it's my job'. That was it. I don't know what kind of Europa that is but I will stick with the New World from now on . New World Market that is. 1-2 blocks towards the Ocean, cross the street and it's a better store. More variety and nicer people. Don't waste your time and money at this store.

I got a big pack (there were no smaller ones) package of beat, potatoes and herring salad and it was rotten! When I came back they said it was impossible because had never happened before, implying that I was lying refused to give my money back. Both times I bought stockfish (dried fish) it was overdried and too salty, very bummed because we love Soviet style dried fish.Somehow they manage to still carry a lot of made in St.Petersburg, Russia, and other Russian cities food, despite all the sanctions and common decency. When asked directly about what's going on, they say that they maintain "neutrality" because they have no interests in politics (neither do they want to lose pro-Russia customers). These guys do not support Ukraine and try to keep a foot in both "camps". Neither do many of their patrons. Both times I've been here since the war I was smirked at and told that "we will show you, Ukrainians". I mean, if you want to support Russian fascism and the invasion in Ukraine, have no further doubts and come here buy some Russia made goodies and listen to hateful ladies spewing Russian state propaganda and threats.
