Europa Express 2 inspired so many questions in me. First, what truck are these good looking fruits and vegetables falling off of? Apples at $1.29/lb, cherries at around $2/lb., pre-trimmed green onions for 69 cents, and whole heads of cauliflower for $1.29. No joke: Cauliflower is $3.99 a head at Safeway and these heads looked no different. Or rather, they looked a whole lot better because of that price. Then there's all of the other questions I had. What are all of these interesting products whose labels I cannot read because I don't even know what language they're in? What does one do with all of this vacuum-packed whole smoked fish and cured meats? When did this neighborhood become so decidedly Eastern European? I might've asked some of those questions but as some have noted, the atmosphere is a bit - uh - chilly. I didn't feel uncomfortable but I wasn't welcomed let alone warmly welcomed. I might not know what half the stuff here is but I do know where I'll return to when I'm nearby and want to stock my crisper with some fresh fruits and vegetables. At these prices I don't need a warm hello.

Small shop with interesting goodies. It's great if you speak/ read Russian but the lady working there didn't speak English and everything was in Russian characters so it was kind of hard to figure out what we were buying. So far the items we purchased we enjoyed.

So much russian beer. Get a picnic basket with all the cured meats. Fresh veggies. Anything Russian ingredients must be here. Wine. All kinds of cheeses. Who wants Buckwheat? Other cultures eat whole grain and healthy stuff. .

People are not very friendly. Some of the food spoils very quickly. They do have really delicious deli meats & sausages and tinned and smoked fishes that are hard to find elsewhere.

Every time I go there and grab some food (4-5 items) I leave like 30-40$. But when I go check the price at home, it doesn't match at all with the total price they giving me. Today I was there after a while, and most likely this gonna be the last time. It's not hard to count your total because all items that you take they have sticker with price on. So my total today was 44$ (7 items) when I got home I counted a total of 33$. Long story short, if you wanna buy European food, go on Geary blvd, there's a bunch of places with the same stuff and no risk to be robbed.

In ten years I have never had a bad experience here. What they have is a remarkable assortment of foods you will never see anywhere else. Prices are reasonable and even cheap. The bread is unique and varied. Even the produce is decent. But many kinds of cured meats and sausage at prices way lower than supermarkets. All dated, shrink wrapped, and described along with the source. Fresh pickles and cabbage sorts of salads. Numerous unheard of eastern European beers. Amazing variety of smoked fish, for those who know what to try. It's an authentic experience, which if you don't want, go to the Safeway next block.

If I could give a negative score I would. I have been in this store several times and each time I vowed not to return mainly due to the rudeness of the cashier there. However, since it's a small local business, I gave them several chances ... then ... I bought bread that had mold ... then expired canned good ... each time I was blamed though it was clear that I had not switched out their product and bought it there ... then one day there was ... well judge for yourself. My teenaged (Caucasian) son and his (biracial) GF joined me and my spouse for a movie. We decided to get fun snacks and happened to be by Europa Express. She had NEVER been to a Russian deli before, and my spouse had never frequented this one, so we thought it might be fun. Both kids had closed drinks in their hands when we entered the store. We all came in separately and went to different areas of the store to pick out snacks. We did not look like we were together or related. Very shortly, the owner sauntered over to my son's GF and, along with the super unfriendly dark-haired cashier, started to shoo her OUT OF THE STORE! My husband noticed this and asked why they were doing this. The owner said simply that she was not allowed in the store! Then he asked why again and they both said that she was just NOT allowed. I then noticed what was happening and asked them why the nicely dressed girl is being kicked out of the store. The cashier, who recognized me, then looked concerned and asked "oh, is she with you?" I said "yes". The owner then looked uncomfortable and said "well, she has a drink". I said "oh yeah? But so does my son." The owner said "it's a misunderstanding." So my husband and son left all they picked out, took the poor girl by the hand and walked out. My husband then came in as I placed the goods back and said "no, I think we all understand perfectly". For us - never again but you can decide for yourselves.

First of all, and I didn't want to mention this but it seems like there is a reoccurring issue with the bills are not being matched. In my case the bill was $30 over, if I didn't check the bill they would have gotten away with this. Second, this is my major complaint, I think when you spend over $100 they gift you a treat. I got some sweets, I thought it was very nice of them. UNTIL I came back home and saw the box. The original are date and expiration date were white out, and a new expiration dade was added as a sticker. The item expired in January 2024! I. JANUARY!!!! It expired a while years ago! Why the heck would you even give this to people!? Why not throw this shit out? What the point? This is just such a shitty behavior, I can't believe this still exists in our modern world. What are you trying to accomplish? You need to stop doing shady things like this. I hope some inspection is coming your way, you are in the good industry, have some respect for your customers already.

NOT SERVICE DOG FRIENDLY! My husband, service dog, and I walked into the store to grab something to drink and the cashier was EXTREMELY rude to us. She said, "ay, no dogs allowed." When I stated that my dog was a service animal (not an ESA but an ADA federally protected service animal) she said, "well let me see some proof!" I retorted that although it is not legally required for me to provide my tag/paperwork I still grabbed my service dog tag out of my wallet. Apparently that still wasn't good enough because she screamed no and continued to dismiss me. I ended up leaving without buying anything because people should NOT be treated that way, especially if they have disabilities. I sincerely hope that management sees this and provides better education for their staff. People with disabilities should not be subjected to this type of treatment.
