One of my favorite spots in the city.Outside area is a little sketchy / wonky, but a rooftop bar with music, great ambiance, great food, and a variety of drinks makes it an easy go-to in the city.Food is much cheaper than most other options in the city. The empanadas and potato tacos are some of my favorites here. Great for small groups; it's a little loud, so maybe not the greatest for dates.

El Techo is the perfect rooftop spot for a romantic dinner or a fun night out with friends! The vibes were great, with stunning views of the San Francisco skyline. My partner and I were seated quickly, and both the host and our server were extremely kind. Even though our server was busy, he still checked on us regularly.Food Highlights:Aguachile - If there's aguachile on the menu, I'm ordering it. This version was lighter than others I've had, but still delicious.Yuca Frita - The rocoto aioli was creamy, rich, and packed with flavor. The yuca fries were decent; the texture threw me off a bit, but they were fried perfectly and made a great vessel for the aioli.Tacos de Pescado - The fish was fried to perfection, and the cabbage slaw with pickled onion was the perfect complement. The accompanying salsa had just the right amount of spice--subtle but with a nice kick.Pan Con Chicharrón - The star of the show. The pork belly was tender, and the fresh arugula balanced its richness on a soft French roll. There was also a hint of spice, which was the cherry on top.Arroz Leche de Chocolate - A perfect choice for the chilly evening--not overly sweet, but the chocolate flavor was still present.I ordered a Paloma, which was delicious, while my partner had a Modelo. We would definitely recommend this spot!

Nothing like some cocktails before dinner and a great view of the mission at sunset. Great drinks and vibe here. Staff are cool and you can have either have some great grub here or dinner at the main restaurant next door.

Love the rooftop. Thank you for the heaters because we would probably have frozen LOL. The vibes were pretty lively for dinner. We went here for one of my girl friend's birthday!Service was really good!!! They accidentally gave us someone's order at first but it was an honest accident. The food was so so good. They gave my friend a free birthday tequila shot which was so sweet of them. And they cut and served her cake for us! I highly recommend going here with your friends if you're looking for delicious tapas and drinks!Empanadas de carne: a MUST 9.5/10Chips and guac: 7/10Fish tacos: 7.5/10Elote: 7.5/10Chicharrones de carne: 9.5/10 please order this... the meat is so tender and worth the price

Went to El Techo with a group of friends for a weekday happy hour. Vibes were great on a rooftop overlooking the SF skyline. We were seated pretty quickly and the area up top was bustling. Service was reasonably fast.- Chips & Salsa -- perfectly crispy chips & cool savory guacamole, not sure it's worth $5 though- Quesadilla de Vegetales -- unique twist with the purple tortilla- Tacos de Pescado -- solid fish tacos, was still left a bit hungry after thoughOverall, I'd recommend going to El Techo for the fun rooftop vibes. Don't think they're as worth as a classic Mexican eatery for the price, but food was still solid. It seems that they're known for their Chicharrones de Carne -- will have to try this next time.

Last night I was invited to celebrate one of those milestones in someone's personal lives. My in laws who we were celebrating were the celebrating ones , so they chose this location. Apparently this place is by reservation only, since the view is such a delight. The cocktails were delicious as well, I had 2 of those coco loco ones, and i usually don't order much drink with dinner. Waiting staff was very friendly as well. I must however point out how misleading the menu can be. My mother in law ordered "tacos de canasta " but in reality should be called "tacos dorados" because tacos de canasta are made to sweat in a plastic lined basket, not fried hints the name. I actually had one it was decent but the name may not satisfy someone who is looking for what i described is done in Mexico City where tacos de canasta are popular. Our appetizer was a "half a pound of chicharrónes " but i honestly couldn't define if it was that or "carnitas". A bit dry without the salsa or the beans in the mouthful. If you order that please take advantage of those sides. My father in law ordered "aguachiles " which were not anywhere near spicy, what a disgrace since the name implies spicy. Agua chiles. More like just agua. I had the meatballs, which weren't too bad, some places do mix rice into meatballs but they were pretty good. I'll be quite honest with the masses reading this, whoever made this menu and hasn't traveled abroad to research dishes and it shows. But if you show up to drink and have a wonderful view of San Francisco you'll have a wonderful experience. It just depends on, do you see a restaurant or a bar? 3.5/5 I think I would only return upon someone's request to meet them here. Next time I'd probably just show up for the drinks .

They have a dope Happy Hour menu, Tuesday - Friday 4:00pm - 6:00pm. I got the Empanadas de Carne ($7), Chips & Guac ($7), Pollo Frito ($7). It was was a ton of food! My two favorites were the Pollo Frito and the Empanadas de Carne. Special shout-out to the chimichurri sauce that comes with the empanadas. I took it home and put it on everything. Very happy stomach.

Came here for brunch and loved the vibes! Was here over flight week and got to see some of the planes flying by which was super cool! We got the plantains and the huevos rancheros. I think the huevos rancheros is one of the best I've ever had, will definitely be coming back for that again. I will also want to try some of the other dishes as well!
