Got a regular burrito and it was great. The sauce kept the burrito moist. I had gotten a carne asada burrito. Service was great, spoke to a young lady at the cashier and she was helpful It is located in the east side of San Mateo on Kingston street. Wasnt loud at all, had a welcoming environment with the man who was hanging out at the door. Would recommend this place for a nice and quick burrito. I personally didn't like the horchata at all lol it was watered down and they might have better batch on different days but this specific day it was pretty horrible.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was empty. Ordered a carne asada and Al pastor burrito and it was a bit pricey at $15 since I added an extra meat. However, the burrito was delicious as they used a lot of avocado and the meat was perfectly juicy and tender. The Al pastor meat also had pineapple chunks which I liked. I would come here again!

Came by here after hiking in the sign hill trail. Place is small but not too busy (seems they mostly get take out orders). I ordered dine in and got the super tacos. Super tacos are your choice meat, avocado, onions hot sauce and sour cream. I got pastor for meat. The meat was juicey and tacos overall delicious. For the price they were pretty filling and yum. Not much else to say other than I highly recommend if you like tacos.

We heard about El Palenque through a few friends who come here frequently when they want a burrito. The cashier looked tired, unfriendly, and unwelcoming. This was our first time trying their food. Their wet burrito and beef burrito were both quite dry. Maybe because it was late in the day? But the meat was really dry and so was their rice. Even with sauce, it didn't help to make the food any better. We got our food to go and went home to eat it. There was barely any salsa or sour cream in our burritos. I guess that would have made it better. We did add more salsa to our meal but for some reason, it tasted like everything was overcooked or dried out. We were disappointed since it was a recommendation from others. I guess everyone has their own opinion of what is good. Or maybe this was one of their off days. Sadly, we'll stick with our usual burrito place.

Unassuming Mexican restaurant by a grocery store / in a strip mall. A hole in the wall place. They have a solid menu selection including a lot of shrimp and seafood items. Everything is reasonably priced especially for the portion sizes which were huge. The food was pretty greasy which made some of it hard to eat. However everything was very tasty and well spiced. The shrimp they used in their dishes were all huge and very meaty. I would definitely recommend the shrimp quesadilla. It was more like a huge cheese burrito and was a tasty, greasy guilty pleasure but definitely not an everyday item.Service was a bit slow but everyone working here was extremely nice. There's a few seats outside although most of the tables are inside. It's a small restaurant so mostly eat and go. Cash only. Staff speaks a bit of English but substitutions or alternations were a bit difficult to communicate.

I'm always finding these places I didn't know exists.Like this place in between a laundromat and a Mexican grocery store. They had very reasonably priced items that were pretty good. Had their beef enchiladas plate, a super chorizo taco, and a horchata.3.5 stars with a cut above most in SSF.The plate was good filled with meat that would be in a burrito. The rice and beans were tasty and the cream was fresh. The horchata is very watery and chalky. The chorizo super taco was very greasy and I could not eat the grease soaked tortilla underneath. A good find

Tortas the way I like it. Crispy, dry, and tightly wrapped. Chicken was noticeably grilled. Best torta I've had since I don't remember when.
