Honestly I get food here at least once a month... if you live in Nob Hill/North Beach, it's probably one of the best options for Mexican food. They're super quick, quality is consistent, and great bang for your buck. It's not nearly as good as the one in the Mission, but definitely gets the job done. I usually get a veggie burrito with a side of chips and it runs me ~$10, and lasts for a meal and a snack later.

This place had some of the best tacos I've ever eaten. El Farolito (and their sister resturant, El Favorito) has several other locations around SF and the Bay Area. We picked this location in North Beach because it was the closest. It's a pretty classic West Coast, no-frills Mexican joint , and it delivers big on taste. The service was friendly and quick, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I got three tacos: carne asada, pollo asado, and camaron. All great (and the shrimp seemed fresh, which is not always the case when I get seafood tacos.) My partner said his chicken quesadilla was the best he'd ever had. The interior is small and unfancy. There are about 8 to 10 tables, so you can comfortably eat there, or take your food to go. In addition to bottled and fountain drinks, they also have tasty horchata (which I got, and which was tasty), plus a rotating selection of agua fresca. Lots of folks were eating dinner here both times we went, including us--it's more than just a late-night/post-bar taco place, unlike some of the other North Beach late night spots.

Nice cashier, but easily the most dreadful burrito I've experienced in years! Old tasteless carne asada, I asked for minimal rice they stuffed my burrito full of rice to make it appear as if it was big. Absolutely horrible! I eat Farolito on 24th & Mission almost daily because it's close to work, it's the best most consistent Mexican I've tasted in SF in my opinion. This place is a DISGRACE to the name farolito. Maybe it's because I'm spoiled by their sister location on 24th & Mission, but I refuse to order here again even if I'm STARVING! It's easy to see why the 24th & Mission location has a perpetual line outside the door EVERYDAY, while this place has trouble retaining a a small amount of customers in a very tiny customer dining space. A word to the wise, if any of you reading this ever experience El Farolito on 24th & Mission, you will NEVER return to this place!Update: Next day I had to go into the EMERGENCY ROOM due to this places food. Food poisoning, they are not even sanitary with their food. I'm not sure what I got, but I got it from this restaurant!

This place is conveniently located and spacious with a lot of seating inside. I was excited to try the tacos, my sister had the carne asada and liked the tacos. I had the shrimp tacos and they were okay. Nothing special, not flavorful. I've definitely had better shrimp tacos in the city

This is definitely a gem for quick Mexican food in SF. From the low prices to the quality of the ingredients, this is worth checking out!The restaurant is smaller with a few tables, so you might need to head earlier before the lunch rush to find a seat. Otherwise a lot of customers will order to go. The order process is very fast, as they accept credit cards and cash. There is also a tip jar at the front. They will call your order number within a couple minutes to pick up so it's very convenient. We shared a torta with extra meat (pollo) and it was delicious! The bread comes toasted, and it provides a nice crunch factor. You also get a generous portion of jalapeños, avocado slice, meat and cheese. Be wary of the messiness of course with each bite, so load up on napkins! Overall, I recommend coming here for the fast service, great food, and cheap prices!

Great food and very filling! I shared a super burrito and was very satisfied from my half portion if you're not too hungry. I went in around 7:30pm on a Friday and there was no wait and lots of seating open.

Delicious Mexican spot in the heart of North Beach. Perfect place after bar hopping.I highly recommend the Super Quesadilla with Al Pastor. There are 2 quesadilla slices in one serving. The Super Quesadilla Para 2 can easily feed 2-3 people or have leftovers for a couple of meals. There are about 6-8 slices of quesadilla in one order of the Super Quesadilla Para 2. Very cost-efficient and the portions are HUGE.The service is friendly and super quick. Highly recommend!

Great service. Great food. Overall a 5*. Where can you go for a family of 3 for under $50? The guy behind the counter is AMAZING. He is a vibe himself.

This is the best Mexican food you'll find outside of the mission. Price to meat ratio is on point! The meat in my super burrito carne asada was tender and flavorful used the red salsa to add a small kick. Overall it's hole in the wall spot that does disappoint with fast service.
