I thoroughly enjoyed the 10 piece omakase nigiri ($65). I feel like it's pretty reasonably priced for the quality of the ingredients. I really enjoyed the uni (sea urchin), hamachi (yellowtail), and the tuna (not sure what type). They did mention all the names but I couldn't catch all of them. One of them was a torched A5 wagyu. The presentation was great, and I enjoyed the hints of soy sauce and wasabi as I ate these. They gave a complimentary edamame and chawanmushi which was very nice of them. The edamame was solid. The chawanmushi is a savory egg custard and it was topped with fish roe. I really enjoyed the fish roe exploding with flavor with the creamy custard.I was the only person there at 7pm on a Wednesday which was interesting but I haven't seen the place super busy in general (maybe it's the location). The service was great. The staff are very kind and attentive. It was also interesting that the staff were all speaking Mandarin (I think?) but the food and service was excellent so I'm a happy boy. Great interior design and dinnerware, but the front door is a slightly spooky.とても美味しい!! 很好吃!

This sushi restaurant is located in an industrial area, which is reflected in its rustic gray metal exterior and concrete interior. We had a reservation for 5 on a Thursday at lunch time but it didn't seem necessary as we were the only ones there. Our order:49er Roll (8 pcs): $15.95+Sushi was well-constructed: Didn't fall apart when picked up.+Salmon tasted fresh.+Cucumber was crunchy and avocado was ripe.+Thinly sliced lemon added freshness: Some sushi places use lemon slices that are too thick, which causes the roll to be bitter.A5 Wagyu Special Roll (8 pcs): $25.95+Sushi was well-constructed: Didn't fall apart when picked up.+A5 Wagyu wasn't overcooked.+Asparagus was crunchy and avocado was ripe.+Orchid added a pop of color.Rainbow Roll (8 pcs): $18.95+Sushi was well-constructed: Didn't fall apart when picked up.+Salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and escolar tasted fresh.+Good amount of crab and ripe avocadoSpider Roll (5 pcs): $15.95+Sushi was well-constructed: Didn't fall apart when picked up.+Soft shell crab and cucumber were crunchy, while avocado was ripe.Lion King Roll (8 pcs): $18.95+Sushi was well-constructed: Didn't fall apart when picked up.+Salmon tasted fresh and wasn't overcooked.+Good amount of crab and ripe avocado+Scallions and tobiko added pops of color and flavor.-On the salty sideKobe Beef Ramen: $18.95+Broth was rich and savory: Not too greasy or salty+Good amount of bouncy noodles+Soft boiled egg+Corn, scallions, and seaweed added color and texture -Kobe beef was chewySide notes:1.) Hot water available upon request2.) Limited street parking3.) It was quite cold inside but luckily we brought jackets. *Verdict: Solid option for sushi in the SOMA.

Went here on a Friday night at 7:30p for 2ppl with no reservation. Immediately seated at the bar and greeted by the sushi chefs. 10 piece omakase nigiri ($60) caterpillar rollhot tea house hot sake cucumber salad steamed egg service was so friendly and helpful! they offered cucumber salad while we waited and finished off our meal with steamed egg with fish eggs. Pairing everything together with sake, ginger, and tea made every bite special. Sitting at the bar was a nice intimate setting which made for the perfect date night. definitely will return

This place exceeded my expectations in every way. While the menu is not extensive, every dish we tried showcased incredible quality and attention to detail. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but once you taste the food, it all makes sense.Their Super Dynamite Roll was a standout--it uses real crab instead of imitation, which elevated the flavor immensely. Another highlight was the chef's special, served with authentic wasabi that added a fresh, clean kick to the dish. One of the fish dishes had a subtle hint of truffle oil, and it was perfection--the earthy aroma paired beautifully with the delicate fish. The ambiance is another reason to visit. It's intimate without feeling overly formal, with soft, chill music that creates a relaxing vibe. It's not overly crowded, making it ideal for a calm and cozy dining experience. The staff were excellent--friendly, attentive, and spoke in soothing tones that added to the laid-back atmosphere. This spot is perfect for an intimate, chill date night or a quiet dinner where you can truly enjoy exquisite sushi in peace. Will definitely come back!!

We chose this restaurant because we were going to an event at The Foundry. Reservations were easy via Yelp, but necessarily needed because they weren't too busy.We were recommended the Komatsuru Gold sake, which was crisp & refreshing & not sweet. The sushi was very fresh roll had a good rice to protein ratio. We had:the uni truffle tasting & added quail egg & the combo of uni, ikura & egg was delicious.Seafood poke salad which features salmon, tuna & hamachi with seaweed & topped with micro greens & was light & flavorful, another great dish.Truffle hirame, Folsom roll features tuna, hamachi, ebi & avocado & A5 Wagyu special roll. Everything was delicious.Service is helpful & friendly.

Is it the quest to chalk up another review - or curiosity to try something new? It might be both!Scrolled through my bookmarks and found Eat Sushi restaurant, Yelp waitlist a bonus though it was lightly populated on a Wednesday night. The sushi and sashimi were fantastic, very fresh and well-prepared. I decided on the 10-piece omakase nigiri ($55) with a substitution for uni (still can't try, am I a silly fool?) and miso soup. I had the surprise of wasabi and truffle under 3 or 4 pieces and got to try A5 Wagyu beef for the first time- delicious. We split the hirame sashimi in truffle oil ($16.95), wakame salad and tempura sampler ($18.95), the halibut especially tasty though the tempura, over-priced.I got to surf behind and take samples of my swimmer son's gyoza (so good with the umami punch of a grilled finish), California and Dragon rolls ($12.95, $18.95).We took a deep dive into their menu; this sushi spot is solid. The interior has plush upholstered seating, perfect for groups as well as tables and sushi bar seating. It's welcoming and sleek. I wish the lighting were a little softer; maybe they save that for Friday and Saturday night?Across the street from the old Holy Cow, you'll catch the neon Eat Sushi sign as you approach.

First time eating here, and it was yummy! Loved that they took reservations. We sat at the bar, and the service was great and attentive. The prices were super reasonable! 10 piece omakase for $60, and they allowed swaps. The uni from this place was a 12/10! We also had the garlic edamame and 49er roll. The reason I am hesitant to give Eat Sushi five stars is because, while the restaurant was not busy at the time we went, it took quite awhile to get our food. Additionally, the texture and quality of the salmon toro (my absolute favorite) was not the best, but other fish were great. I wonder if it was a fluke. Overall, I will absolutely come back!

Really enjoy the Eat sushi in our neighborhood! The Good: - Nice omakase option ($55) right now. - Cute date environmentThe meh: - we order take out from them a lot, and many times, it has taken over an hour and a half for them to get our food ready... we live 2 blocks away, so lol- service during is a little sparse too, but when we do get served, it's good and friendly
