Looking back, I can't believe I was so petty as to ding this place for a simple mistake that could happen to any restaurant. The food is great, the service is professional and the atmosphere is upbeat. The owner contacted me in response to my review and asked to reimburse me for the missing item, which was classy.

Saturday night at 8pm, party of 2. Immediately seated, order through a QR code at the table. Spicy XBLBBQ pork buns wontons in chili pan fried soup dumplings salt and pepper chicken wings chrysanthemum tea ($2/person with refills) i thought these tea cups were so cute and kept the heat from your hand, but the lip is curved in and kinda hard to drink from so be careful. Got their spicy xlb bc we usually put a lot of chili on it anyway, juicy and served with vinegar. crispy soup dumplings are sf dimsum staple, they always have so much soup and the crispy bottom is the perfect base to fill it up with more sauce. The chicken wings reminded me of my childhood and would order again. bbq pork bun and wontons were good but not memorable. There are so many dimsum places in sf (many with long waits lol) and everything i got here you can probs find at all the other ones too. try them all and pick your favorite. i'll probably go back here for their reliable food, easy seating, and kind service.

My two teen kids and I enjoyed the following: * Marinated cucumber (5/5) - salty, sesame, garlicky, crunchy goodness. We couldn't stop eating these. * Vegetable pot stickers (4/5) - great texture of diced veggies, probably mushrooms and not sure what all else. Would order these again.* Spring rolls (5/5) - perfectly fried rolls of tender veggies with a nice crunch on the outside. No oily flavor or feel to them like some egg rolls get. These are very hot so be careful biting into them.* Wonton w/chili sauce (5/5) - our favorite dish. Not very spicy but perfectly seasoned sauce over tender wontons with just the right amount of pork inside. It's not a large serving but could be enough for two with other items. We shared it but probably each could have eaten an order of it... it was that good.* Xiao long bao, original (3/5) - these were decent but didn't have a lot of flavor on their own. They needed the soy/vinegar sauce for sure and a little chili paste on top. We've had better so we'd skip these next time. * Chrysanthemum tea (5/5) - my daughter is a tea connoisseur and said this was very good.

We decided to head here for a late lunch and because I was craving dumplings and this 100% hit the spot! Everything came out hot and was super fresh. We ordered the siu Mai, pan fried dumplings, shrimp dumplings, spicy wontons, shrimp toast, fried chicken wings, vegetable/pork bun. Every thing was super tasty but my favorites were the spicy wontons! They were super juicy and the wonton skin was very thin and silky. It is on the pricier side and averages $2-3 more per dish than I'm used to, but it is dim sum in sf after all haha. That being said, this is probably one of my top three dumpling spots in the city (the others probably being dumpling kitchen or dumpling home).

Came to get a few dumplings in the Castro. Dumpling House has quite a few. It's a pretty cozy type of place. Good variety even with a small menu. The prices are okay considering the big sizes. At dinner it was time for dumplings. It's one of the many places to get these around here. There's other stuff on the menu but forget about that. Get what they're known for. It's about $8 for a serving. I suggested we get the Spinach Dumplings. These were green. Inside were black fungus, carrots, celery, corn, and water chestnuts. Quite a lot to put in these. Even though they only gave us a few, these were filling. These were soft enough to melt in mouths. For sure could come here to get more dumplings again. It's pretty affordable for a light meal. There's quite a few of these okay for vegans and vegetarians.

I came here on a rainy day right when they open on a weekend as it gets packed during lunch hours. The interior is cozy and cute as it has a few tables inside, but is a bit small if you have a large group (more than 4+). My friends and I ordered a few things off the list. We got pork & sweet corn dumplings, soup dumplings, deep-fried meat dumplings, bbq pork bun, pepper salt chicken wings, wonton with chili sauce, pan-fried vegetable and meat buns, and mango pudding for dessert. For the dumplings, my favorite would have to be the soup dumplings as the juice was flavorful and not too salty. The pan-fried dumplings were simply delicious with the flavors of meat and vegetables! As for the dessert, it was light on the sweetness and a mild sweet treat. I would recommend going early to try all of these!

So the food is made hot and is quickly prepared for you after you mobile order it and I would say that it is pretty good for the area however, there are better places to get dim sum and buns. If you are already in the Castro area, I would say this is a good spot. It's fairly priced and they have two bathrooms and the service is pretty quick. There's nothing really to rave about, but I would say the soup based dumplings are pretty solid hit the other items that are basically dim sum are fair because they were either too thick in the skin or it was just not as satisfying as other places I've been to.

3.5 starsHonestly wasn't expecting much since they sounded like a generic Chinese restaurant (geared for non-Chinese people), but it was better than expected. We got the celery and shrimp dumplings (a nice lighter dumpling option), spicy xlb (not standout xlb, but they do their job and are easy to eat since they come in these tins), and deep fried meat dumplings (these were freshly fried although I think ratio of filling to wrapper was off, the wrapper was too thick). Overall an unmemorable meal. Menu is fairly limited to basically dumplings / a couple dim sum items. Is this a spot I feel a need to go back to? No. But would I oppose coming back here if a friend really wanted some dumplings? No.

My husband and I went to Dumpling House as a last minute decision. I love dumplings and bao and am always looking for new places to try. And Dumpling House did not disappoint. We walked in and were seated quickly. The server brought us water and gave us a quick minute to look over the menu. We ordered the marinated cucumber, scallion pancake, and spring rolls to start. My husband and I agreed the spring rolls were our favorite food item of the entire meal. They were incredibly crunchy but not oily and the sweet and sour sauce was a nice compliment to the dish. We both also enjoyed the marinated cucumber. It was refreshing and kept a nice crunch as well. The scallion pancake was what we expected. I ordered the bbq pork bao and spicy xiao long bao. The pork bao was good and soft. The spicy XLB was good and flavorful. My husband ordered the spinach dumpling and vegetable pot stickers. Both were flavorful and he enjoyed the filling in both. Staff was friendly and the restaurant itself was small but clean and inviting. If you enjoy dumplings and bao, I would definitely recommend this place.

No matter which area throughout my hometown, either in Tenderloin or even in the Castro Community, dumplings are what I must feast during lunchtime within the Lunar New Year. Dumpling House would be the best way to choose the right dim sum that benefits my life during the year of the wooden dragon.Time to jump to the lunch specials! A. Spring rolls! B. Spinach dumplings! C. Jasmine green tea (tea bag form into a cup of hot water. Spring rolls (three pieces with a sweet chili sauce) increase my likelihood of prosperity. The skin of each spring roll was crispy on the outside, with chewy veggies on the inside. Spinach dumplings increase my likelihood of wealth and luck. Seeing these four pieces were like green back dollar bills wrapping up into pouches. Thick green mochi outer layer with peanuts and scallions, splendid! Every dish I consumed, was just right, just like the TV show on a black brick wall that taught us how to make Chinese food. What more should I ask for since I chose the lunch specials? After all, there's nothing I could have on my table for takeout. Maybe I ought to ask for one next time, so I can give it to my family to share. The atmosphere in a family owned tea restaurant is a warm welcome to everyone who loves dumplings.
