If you know - you know
a storefront with a fire hydrant in front of it
a neon sign for a deli - cold beer and wine shop

Seeing as how all these reviews are 15-20 years old, I thought I'd provide an update. This is a fantastic business that does well exactly what it's supposed to do - be a very solid neighborhood bodega. Yes, they close early, but so does everything in SF. If you need a quick fix for a snack, six pack, cheap bottle of wine, booze, or a pack of smokes, they have you covered. It's refreshing to have a small business continue to thrive and offer their products without assumption or smug. I'll continue to support this neighborhood staple and you should do the same. Cheers!

Mr. Kim is the real deal. Is that even his name? I don't know - doesn't matter. I roll in there to buy an It's It or a beer and he's listening to the Giants on a radio as psyched as if he's sitting at Candlestick (because he remembers Candlestick) with a hot dog and a beer....big smile, how you doin? What's up? All good - thanks for asking. Your smile, the joy, life is good and all that - teach me how to find the joy you find in the mundane. I'm sure you have bad days but you'd never show it / can we hang out? - show me the way - hugs Mr. Kim....

I came here solely to get the morning paper since I all had was a card. When I walked in, as I do with many stores I walk into, I got sidetracked and decided to buy a couple drinks as well. So I went to the register with my 2 drinks & newspaper at hand, gave the cashier my card, and was quickly told that the CREDIT CARD MINIMUM was $8. Ugh!So for some reason I have issues trying to buy things when I feel like I'm being forced to, so I search around up and down all their aisles and decided on just purchasing a small bottle of Tylenol. My total came to $12 that day ... when all I wanted was a paper. Oh well ... I only have myself to blame, I should've had coins.... and when the charge came up on my statement it said Dirink Liquor; not sure what happened there.

The couple here are amazingly nice and have a great selection of tasty sweets (Milanos, Pocky, etc.) I recommend this place 10/10 for getting your convenience store necessities if you find yourself in the area.

I'm reading some of these reviews and it's ridiculous... The couple are nice people who own it. I just walked in there for the first time it was 12 AM they had what I needed the price was fine, and if I wanted a better price I should've had the forethought to go to BevMo at 8 o'clock, But since I'm now in the mood for a piña colada and it's 12 AM I'm definitely not going to complain about the price. I'm actually going to be thankful that this place is open at 12 AM and able to give me my piña colada. For all you haters who are whining about the high prices who go and buy your liquor at 1 AM... Get over yourself... Like I said if you don't like the price have the forethought to go to Safeway and buy your food or go to BevMo and buy your liquor at their open hours... I guess you don't understand why they call a store a convenience store and they're typically a little more expensive. The people who wrote these bad reviews sound like the same people that cancel an Uber after six minutes because it took to long to get there or give the poor driver at three in customer reviews because it took the driver to long to get to you to give you a ride even though the streets in the city are filled with traffic.

If the voters of the State of California remember there was a state proposition back in 2006, Prop 86 which would have incresed the excise tax on tobacco products. This money was to be used in education for children to either quit smoking if they have already begun, or to avoid taking up the habit in the first place via education intervention. This place sported a 'No on 86!' poster, as distributed by one or more of the major tobacco corporations. I had known the son of the owner of this mum-and-pop shop on the southwest corner of Balboa Street and 2nd Avenue in the Inner Richmond District of San Francisco. He was ameniable. But one day just before the upcoming election, upon popping in the place, I saw him and asked him why they were carrying this sign, he did a 'shhh!' to me. It was so clear this business saw extra profits first over the health and well being of children! The major tobacco firms had, such as Philip Morris, and Reynolds America, et al, to get the voters to make certain that this proposition would fail. Unfortunately the tobacco industry won, it indeed failed to pass! Thanks to some greedy business owners such as Drink Liquor who only saw only the short term kickback at the expense of the basic health of the future of America, it's children! Shameful! This is the reason that since 2006 I had decided to indefinitely boycott this business as I do not want my money to simply go to someone who has such a callous disregard and greedy that children's health means absolutely nothing to them! For interest, this is a synopse of that proposition: Prop 86 would have amended the state constitution to increase the excise tax on tobacco cigarettes by $2.60 per pack, in order to fund healthcare expansion and education. Proposition 86 failed to pass, with 48.0% approval. (Wikipedia)Please, if you have a conscience, avoid this shop at all costs! I would not recomment this place to anyone! Chidren's health first! NOT money!Thank you

I love drink liquor. They carded me for a YEAR before they stopped, but somehow they never made me upset about it. And also, it's as though I worked for the privilege of not being carded. He's even given me the paper on credit before (50cents!!). Things are overpriced, but it's a CONVENIENCE store not a CHEAP store. The name "Drink Liquor" is so awesome that they could charge 6 bucks for 2 buck chuck and I wouldn't care! Also... they have a spectacular variety of Ben and Jerry's.
