This is such a great spot to have a quick bite and get your morning coffee! I really enjoy their outdoor tables and the dining space here. I love grabbing a book to read sitting outside because they have lots of tables available. Their salmon crepe is my favorite here, and I love how soft their crepe batter is. The iced vanilla soy latte is my go-to here, and everything tastes delicious.

I had, soup, salads and sandwiches to go here and wasn't impressed. Even though it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like the rest of the town, I didn't think it was worth repeating for lunch.Certainly recommend this place for coffee and pastries while sitting and people watching but other than that I can't vouch for the rest of the menu. The staff is fine and it does get busy

Douce France is my favorite cafe in the Palo Alto area. I've been coming here for a decade plus and, I have to say, their croissants are the best in the Palo Alto/Peninsula area. The prices are extremely reasonable and I've always had a wonderful experience, whether eating in or taking out. Their plain, almond, and chocolate croissants are must-try's. Their ham and cheese quiche and fresco sandwich are delightful as well. Their tartes are yummy and look absolutely beautiful. Service is generally quick.

I came here with my friend to grab a quick bite to eat around 10 AM, and we decided to split a bevy of pastries. To my disappointment, the baked goods here can be quite stale despite the bakery opening at 8 AM (and presumably making their pastries around 6/7 AM, for that matter). A quick scroll through the reviews tells me that this is not uncommon. We ordered the opera cake, the cream puff, the strawberry pastry, and the strawberry fruit tart. Out of all of them, the strawberry pastry and the opera cake were the best. The pastry was very flaky and the strawberry was sweet, and the opera cake offered a nice chocolatey infusion into our otherwise more mild order. The cream puff and the fruit tart were very very hard. I was pretty disappointed, but I get it. You can't exactly microwave a cream puff or a fruit tart, no one wants melted cream and lukewarm strawberries. I just wish that they could've preserved a bit of the fluffy and/or buttery texture that you typically order baked goods for. Perhaps next time I'll come and order one of their hot meals like their crepes and sandwiches, which seemed particularly eye catching.

I stopped by Town and Country for a quick brunch after biking around the city. Since it was a weekend around noon, it was packed full, but luckily I was able to get a table inside. The servers took my order quickly, so I only had to wait a little while for them to heat up the spinach quiche. It was the perfect size, not too big, not too small, and only $5! I liked the flavor and consistency of the quiche, so I'll for sure be trying the other types soon!

I love the texture of buckwheat crepes. We shared two kinds for brunch. La Jardiniere ($11.95) had artichoke hearts, bell peppers, tomatoes, basil, & parsley; a creamy element would've added some interest & flavor. The heartier & tastier of the two, La Bretonne ($14), was filled with ham, Swiss, egg, tomatoes, basil, & parsley. A better-than-average vinaigrette (was that balsamic I tasted?) dressed the side of mixed greens, but crepes left much to be desired. There's seating in the cafe but we ate al fresco because Palo Alto on the cusp of summer is glorious; also it felt chaotic & crowded inside. The display case of pastries did not look appetizing. Our first & most likely last time at Douce France Cafe.

Buckwheat crepes! I've always loved this restaurant but haven't been here in a while. The shopping center has become nuts for parking. But this place is still worth coming to. I got a coffee, a delicious butter croissant, and a buckwheat crepe. Heaven!

Went there on Saturday morning around 8 and it's already busy. Ordered the Provencal-style omelet, Crespeou omelet, it was very good. However, if you don't like goat cheese, the smell of it might be too strong. But the mixed vegetables and mushroom and eggs were perfect! Ham Quiche was good! Very flavourful and fulfilling! Hot chocolate and mocca were good too. The flavour was not too light or too strong! Love it.They also have a selection of pastries that i would like to try next time too!Love the decorations and the restaurant's ambiance here! Feel like a little Paris to me!

Great place to have coffee or lunch. Had a café latte with oat milk. Very good ! Also, ordered pastries which were delicious too. What makes Douce France Cafe so special is the whole package. You have good food, inside or outside sitting areas, and boutique shopping afterwards. Service is good but it can get crowded most of the time. It is a popular local spot ! This is my wife and I's local go to for a morning breakfast and shopping. If you are thinking of lunch, they have a good array of options but more cafè style then restaurant style. Depending on the day and time you should be prepared to not find a table. Keep this in mind so when a table becomes available, you might want to have your friend or family member sit while you place the order. Outside of this, prices are reasonable and ambiance is like a local Paris cafè !

This is one of my go-to place for western style desserts. I enjoy picking from the wide variety of mini cakes and fruit tarts to bring home a wide variety of treats. Service is quite friendly too. They're open to answering my questions about the desserts since they're so many to choose from.
