Lovely. I usually go to Udupi Palace for dosas, but a new friend suggested this place and it's solid. They put more attention to the layout and aesthetic with nice tables and cool chairs. They have a nice selection of dishes, veggie and meat, including a nicely spiced mutton dish. Everything is very flavorful. My favorite was probably their parota. Gets me every time. I'll come back, especially if I'm looking for a nicer spot.

First time at Dosa and it really did not disappoint. I had read reviews discussing authentic flavors and more of a casual spot. We ended up going on a Sunday around 1pm. We were fortunate enough to find parking across the street; however, that part of Valencia isn't as busy. We were sat down immediately and decided we wanted to order the onion masala dosa, butter chicken and paneer tikka. The owner asked us if we'd be interested in trying another chicken dish. She said she likes when her customers get a taste of something else they may like and have never tried. Her telling us didn't feel pushy, if anything it felt like she cared about us getting more familiar with different flavors. She suggested her favorite, gongura chicken which when we looked up is made with go gongura paste that comes from leaves grown in India. We agreed and were very happy with the outcome. We told her we wanted mild flavors on the spice scale and we did like sweet. The gongura chicken was so good! The garlic naan was so fresh, buttery and had a good amount of minced garlic. Their take on paneer tikka was also very flavorful. It had plenty of paneer and feel there was a good contrast between tomato flavor and sweetness possibly from the green bell pepper. We def plan on coming back to try more dishes.

An amazing spot in sf for south indian food. There are quite a few on Valencia, but I think the quality and the price value of the dishes makes it a step above the rest.We tried their chicken curry dosa and the onion dosa. It's pretty rare to see non vegetarian dosas so I was impressed, but the texture and flavor of the onion dosa was better for me. Their ginger chutney was a surprise to me, the flavor of the ginger was very strong which wasn't for me I could see people that'd like it. The fish biryani was a good portion, but I wouldn't say the fish specifically was that great i'd like to try out their other biryanis next time. Also worth mentioning their mango lassi is pretty thick and flavorful. You can tell they didn't skimp on the yogurt. Overall great variety and good service. if you're cold and want good comfort food i'd look here.

It's a relatively busy restaurant for a Tuesday evening. Although he was courteous, there was only one waiter as we can tell....It took some time for him to take order and bring food. The menu was pretty extensive mixture of veg and non-veg items. We ordered the mysore masala dosa - not too spicy and had a lot of potatoes filling which made the dosa less crispy towards the middle. Rogan Josh lamb is tasty as well. Gobi Manchurian was good flavor but texture was too tough and chewy...will probably pass on this item.

I am amazed. Didn't have Indian in a very long time and that's what my acquaintance suggested and I picked. The place is very well-lit and clean. There are many vegetarian options, as well as meat. I went with the lamb dosa and it's huge. It comes with 3 sauces. The spice level is good. It does not bite but can get your nose loose or a tear or two. I like spicy and it was medium for me. Mango lassi was nice and fresh. A little too much yogurt, but it gives you a fresh and cool effect after the spicy. Biryani was very well-made and a nice portion is provided. I would come back

Great portion. Love the large cone dosa. It's very crispy. The chutneys aren't exceptional in my opinion, but still great value.

This was a nice little dosa place with a good selection of vegetarian and meat dosas as well as other dishes. We ordered the rava masala dosa and the gunpowder masala dosa. Both dosa had nice crisp to them and the potatoes were yummy. I wish the podi stuck to the dosa better but other than that this was a yummy choice.

Tasty and huge portions, I forgot to take a picture. We got the veggie pakora, which came in an enormous basket and I had a hard time restraining myself from just eating those, My friend had the onion dosa, I had the Bombay street dosa. She finished hers, but mine was enough for a whole separate meal. We both agreed the chutneys were not what we expected. I liked the leftovers better because I was able to use my own coconut and mint chutneys at home. Service was minimal but sufficient, the food came quickly but we had to wave them down to pay the check. Ambiance was quiet on a weekday for late lunch. The menu is huge, I hope to go back and try more of it.

Finally found a place with authentic Indian food! I've been so unsatisfied with the biryani options in the city but this place is my FAVORITE. It's not just "good enough for the city" but it reminds me of one of favorite places in Sunnyvale (the Bay Area Mecca for Indian food). I ended up ordering takeout and got samosas + Ulavacharu chicken biryani. Came with chutneys and raita + salan respectively. Warning that Ulavacharu chicken biryani was pretty spicy and I would go for dum biryani for a less spicier option. Will be back to to try more!

Boneless chicken biryani: 5 stars Uttapam: 3 stars (not crispy enough)Idly: 3 stars (a bit hard/dry)Blatantly giving other Indians preferential seating, and non-Indians second-class seating: 0 stars (3 non-Indian parties of 2 were seated at 2-tops, while 4 parties of 1-2 Indians each were seated at 4-tops. WTF.)
