My boyfriend and I were in the mood for sushi after shopping in Hayes Valley, and we discovered Domo on Yelp. Due to their limited seating, they don't take reservations. We arrived on a Saturday around 7 PM and found the place packed, with a party ahead of us and maybe one table available outside. We opted for inside seating as it was chilly outside (but there were heaters outside FYI). We were seated within ~15 minutes at a table. There were ~4 tables and some bar seating inside. We quickly fell in love with the cozy, intimate ambiance inside. The tables were spaced out nicely, and the table size was perfect for all the dishes we ordered--no issues moving anything around. The staff was friendly. Here is our order for the night:Large Sapporo Beer and Umeshu (plum wine): I was thrilled to see umeshu on the menu, as it is my favorite alcoholic drink! I am used to having it with club soda, so it definitely felt strong, but it was still smooth and tasty.Miso Soup: Great appetizer.Edamame: Comes in a very generous portion, perfect for sharing.Crunchy California Roll and Domo Roll: These rolls were good but, unfortunately, a little underwhelming. They were tasty, but not incredible.Omakase (4pc): This was the highlight of the meal! The nigiris were top-notch and the fish was very fresh. We'll definitely be ordering more nigiris on our next visit! Our meal was the perfect amount of food to satisfy us. The total, before tip, was $104, which I think is a reasonable price for the quality of the food.

This place was so so so so so good I almost cried eating the domo roll !! This is a cute little restaurant tucked in Hayes Valley that you can expect a waiting list at upon arrival. It is so cozy yet classy inside and you are greeted by the amazing folks who work there. The star of this night was the domo roll, to which I have no words to say other than that roll was FIREEEEE like each bite felt like fireworks exploding :,) I could eat like ten of these in a row. If you are ever in the area pleasseeeee make sure you try this because WOW. Must come back and have again !

My friends and I were in Hayes on a Friday night and originally wanted to check out a different restaurant but the wait was way too long. We stumbled upon Domo on Yelp and although it's not directly on Hayes, it's a quick 2 minute walk away. I actually recognized Domo from an influencer I follow on socials! Her dad owns the restaurant! For a party of 3, we ordered a couple of things. For appetizers, we got the edamame, sashimi salad, and hamachi crudo. We got three rolls to share - the negi toro, domo, and castro. We also got a bottle of Riesling for the table. Everything was amazing! My standouts were the hamachi crudo and negi toro roll. The fish was really fresh and pricing was overall pretty good for SF. The service is fairly quick, and the restaurant is cozy. It's pretty small, so there's limited seating but feels intimate. Definitely a great spot for a date! I will be back!

I stumbled upon this place on a walk and it was busy with a nice energy so I decided to try it. Great, cozy ambiance! I sat at the sushi bar and saw all of the rolls being made. Really yummy rolls on the menu and super fresh fish! I had the sashimi bowl and cucumber salad either tamari. Everything was excellent. I will be back for the rolls!

I'm not sure if it was because I opted for takeout instead of dining in, but the rolls I received were just mediocre. The flavors were a bit lacking, and the fish slices were not thick and not as fresh as I expected. The seared roll, in particular, lacked the smoky charred flavor I was hoping for. While the prices are reasonable given the prime location, I was unimpressed overall. It's definitely not the best spot for sushi, though the value is there for what you get.

Very cute sushi restaurant in Hayes Valley. Good quality fish and amazing menu items!Their specials' menu is always so good and creative. I love their truffle rolls and sashimi/carpaccio. They also have really smooth sake options that you must pair with your meal. Quiet and cozy ambiance and super sweet staff!

This is my fav spot in the city for sushi- amazing quality fish and a spot to grab a couple rolls that aren't super pricey (can be under $100 for 2 people) and have a nice dinner. Domo is a small space with seating at the bar, tables for 2-4 inside, outside tables with heating lamps. They have dim, warm lighting inside. We got the hot green tea to start. They offer sake, wine, beer as well. I highly recommend the Castro roll and the hot tuna. We got the crab and shrimp tempura hand roll to start which was creamy and delicious! The service is great, the food comes out relatively quick and they're very nice.

Had a terrific dinner at Domo! Came here with a friend on a weekday night and it was a lovely experience. It's a small spot and the ambiance was homey and comfortable. Perfect place to catch up and hang out.I ordered the hamachi crudo and maguro sashimi. Both were absolutely delicious! The fish was incredibly fresh and the prices were quite reasonable. Highly recommend checking this place out for a nice casual dinner!

We were pleasantly surprised by our lunch at Domo. In a Friday we were seated right away at a table next to the window. They have a few seats at the sushi bar, as well as a few tall tables that seat four people, and a few tables outside. The sushi is fresh and delicious. They have specials on the mirror which we missed at first; once our server pointed it out we ordered multiple items including the snow crab and red snapper nigiri. From the menu we also got the salmon and inari nigiri, the Castro roll, the jalapeño hamachi roll, and the crunchy California roll.

we arrived for around 12:30 for lunch and was seated quickly -- maybe only 2-3 other tables were occupied. the waiter was very sweet, but seemed to have forgotten an order that we had initially put in. on our first order, we asked for sake sashimi, the i.c roll, and a dragon roll. but we soon realized that the dragon roll did not get relayed to the kitchen, as it had not come out with the rest of our order. that's when we decided to put in a second order and opted for the domo roll. the food itself was good, but nothing outstanding. i felt that the domo roll was a bit lacking in its integrity. it tended to fall apart or stick to the foil when we picked it up. the lemon slices on the i.c roll was a tad thick so you really taste the rind with each bite. the sashimi was clean and fresh. the restaurant is a cozy atmosphere, small tables and only a few in the restaurant but they offer outdoor seating as well in a nice neighborhood.
