Deep Purpl - Acai Bowls

Deep Purpl (great name, btw) exceeded my expectations with their acai bowl the other day. Only one worker was there when I went in and he was managing a few orders at a time, but he was kind and made me a terrific banana, strawberry, blueberry, and (don't miss this) PB acai bowl (actually a cup, who's counting?)The base açaí blend strikes the perfect balance between thick and smooth, without being too icy or overly sweet. They don't skimp on toppings either: strawberries, bananas, blueberries and PB layers create an Instagram-worthy presentation that tastes even better than it looks.Their commitment to quality ingredients brings them 4 stars, but the price takes back a star. 16 dollars for a smoothie is pretty wild. Still, the acai is notably pure and rich, unlike the watered-down versions you might make in the comfort of your own home.Will be back when I have the hankering; thanks for the acai (and for the megahit "Smoke on the Water"; wanted to fit that in this entire review).

I've stopped making this review the last 3 times I came but today was the last straw. Why is the door closed and locked while you go to the bathroom? Super annoying. I have things to do and I would like a smoothie without having to wait for your bathroom breaks. Hire more staff or hold it I do 8 and 12 hour shifts with no bathroom break get over yourselvesOne time I was 11 cents short and the cashier complained that she had to put up the 11 cents because SHE didn't have cash in her drawer. I don't care!? I'm a customer and you didn't have change for me so I'm posed to give you 89 cents just because? If you aren't getting paid a living wage get a better job or go to school I'm not your Daddy(unless you ask nicely)The first straw was you removed the option on DoorDash to remove honey to make your smoothie VEGAN. So since I have to come in PERSON for VEGAN SMOOTHIES and NOBODY IS THERE or THERE IS NO CHANGE I will be FINDING A DIFFERENT PLACE TO GET SMOOTHIES.Super Annoying place when I first started coming it was a five star Açaí Bowl placeMake Deep Purpl Great Again2 stars because their Açaí Bowls and Smoothies are 100% amazing when they do make them.

I visited Deep Purpl--Açaí Bowls, hoping for a refreshing açaí bowl to break up a series of lackluster conference sessions. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. The bowl felt more like an ice cream sundae than an açaí bowl, filled with sugar and lacking the refreshing taste that one typically expects from açaí.On a positive note, they offer a large variety of toppings at no additional cost, which is a nice departure from typical ice cream parlors. The associate was friendly and helpful, which added a pleasant touch to the visit.Despite these positives, the core offering--the açaí bowl--did not meet my expectations. It was a nice break from the conference, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

My friends and I all got the vegan PB chocolate smoothie recommended by the cashier. We really enjoyed the smoothies, and it was quick service. It's a bit of a hole in the wall location right by Montegomery BART, perfect for stopping by on your way to or from the office and was open at 4pm when most other açaí bowl places were already closed by 2pm. It's more of a to-go spot for sure; but I did break out my laptop and send a few work emails while I was there.Overall, would come back again for the smoothies. I would like to try Deep Green next.

Cuia Acai inside the Dreamforce has yet to come back eventually. Thus Deep Purpl would be my temporary love interest. Not only that açaí and other fruit blends were super healthy, but also its color looked purely beautiful. It's better to go for a smoothie than an energy bowl since every separate chunk of fruits and ingredients in a big cup get in the way.I'm just glad I came into the small purple walled space before closing time. Not every super fruit cafés stayed for additional hours. That's how I could easily make it by foot.

Affordable prices, plenty of toppings options. Friendly staff and you can get smoothies as well. Can't really eat inside unless you want to stand but the point is the acai bowls (which are in cups) are good!

Mixed feelings about this place... I would say it's 3.5 stars overall. I loved the acai base! They seem to store it in a soft serve machine, so it was very smooth and thick in consistency. Not too sweet! The fruit was really good quality (sweet blueberries!!!), but I do wish they gave more.... They also gave WAY TOO MUCH chia seeds. Halfway through the bowl, it would be all I tasted.Some cons about this shop? Very small and easy to miss south of Market St. Minimal seating and there's a lot of bugs flying around inside. Only one cashier who also makes the bowls, but she was really quick! Not very friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my acai bowl but I don't think I'd come back as it's overpriced.

To be fair, I consider myself a bit of an acai aficionado so this review may come across as harsh- but I found this to be absolute garbage. I walked a few blocks to find this place since there aren't many "healthy" breakfast options in this part of town.Ordered a 16oz build your own with quite a few toppings, and I do appreciate the unlimited toppings. Most places charge per topping. But instead of a bowl this is served in a smoothie type cup with layers. The acai itself is watered down and tastes more like coconut water. The peanut butter layer was more visual like drizzled onto the side of the cup but no actual peanut butter to scoop out of the bowl. Remaining toppings were all thrown on top and some of the fruit wasn't even cut properly so there were HUGE chunks of strawberry and banana. The sweet lady behind the counter was really friendly, but this was totally unsatisfying and I was probably better off staying in my hotel and getting a croissant with my coffee.

Very delicious and friendly staff. The only thing I don't love is that the açaí bowls are made in the same smoothie cup container and not in a bowl.

Their acai bowl is absolutely amazing. So loaded & filling. We got them for dinner and it was satisfying. Must get them with the peanut butter and load it up with toppings !! Try them out people coz it's so addictive, one will never be enough & you'll come back for more like I'll do in the next couple days LOL
