This spot was highly rate on yelp so had to give it a try and it did not disappoint! The interior is beautifully decorated and we were seated immediately. The servers were friendly, attentive and very welcoming. We ended up staying a bit past close and they didn't rush us to finish up or leave. We ordered the avalanche in everest and it was so refreshing with unique flavors. The chicken momos are an absolute must -- served with a sauce and some chili flakes on the side. These were juicy, flavorful and delicious. For our main, we ordered butter chicken and garlic naan. The curry was so yummy and chicken was tender. Each garlic naan was cut into 4 pieces, these were really good but not as soft as I would have liked. Still tasted amazing with the curry!100% recommend and will be back soon :)

Disappointing Experience at Dancing Yak I made a reservation at Dancing Yak through OpenTable after seeing they had many vegan options. Being familiar with Nepalese cuisine, I had high expectations--especially since my favorite Nepalese spot in Osaka delivers bold, unforgettable flavors. Unfortunately, Dancing Yak fell far short of that standard. Ambiance ( Removed) The tables are way too close together, making it impossible not to hear the conversations next to you. The noise level gets overwhelming because people have to yell over each other just to be heard. It's not the music--it's just the layout. Service & Food Timing ( Removed) The order in which food came out made no sense. I expected naan to arrive with the main dishes, but it was the last thing brought to the table. By then, it didn't even feel necessary. Drinks ( Removed)My friend ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was so bad that she left the entire drink untouched when we left. That says a lot. Food ( Removed) - **Cauliflower** - It was overly crunch. If I had to eat here again, I'd ask for it to be cooked less. - **Veggie Momo** - The wrapper tasted undercooked, and the filling had the texture of mashed baby food. Not good. - **Veggie Chow Mein** - The only dish that was actually tasty. - **Daal Bhat Platter** - This was the worst part. Everything was completely flavorless. Even the rice had no taste, which is wild because rice usually has *some* flavor. When I asked the waiter where the seasoning was, he just shrugged. - **Roti** - It was like a brown pancake. I order roti all the time at Biryani Kebab in Oakland, and it's always amazing but this? The worst I've had. We left most of the platter, the roti, the naan, and the Old Fashioned untouched. The meal was *not* worth $90. I honestly don't understand how this place has so many stars. If I had known, I would've gone around the corner for some bomb vegan pizza at Joyride instead.Final rating: 1/5

Fantastic food, though the Cashew Curry was bland. (They almost lost a star there -- I would give 4.5 stars if I could.) The Samosa Soup was delicious, and an interesting concoction with actual Samosas chopped up in the soup. The Vegan Momos were wonderfully spicy. The Garlic Naan was the best I've ever had! Crispy and airy and chewy and super garlicky. The Mango Lassi was good as well.We were the only ones there around lunch time. They just recently opened up for lunch, so they need to get the word out. The service seemed a tad slow, which was odd since the place was empty. But they were courteous and helpful.Overall, highly recommended.

Fun spot for Nepalese food! I came here on a random Wed night and was surprised to see how busy it was. My friend and I ended up ordering the chicken momos, watermelon & feta salad and goat curry with garlic naan and brown rice to share. Everything was really yummy but the chicken momos had to be my favorite! Loved the sauce that they serve with the momos. The goat curry was also great and the sauce was perfect to soak up the naan with. I was initially confused by the watermelon & feta salad which seemed out of place in the menu but I'm glad we got it for a lighter side and it was a nice refreshing dish to eat with the heavier mains. Overall, really nice and friendly vibes and a great casual spot!

Dancing yak was awesome! This restaurant is in the mission, located near a bunch of other restaurants that are some of my favorites. My friend and I were craving Nepalese food so we went in and I was surprised by how expansive the menu options were. The cocktails looked so cool and I definitely want to come back and try one. We ordered the chicken momos and dhading chicken with garlic naan. Both were so good. The chicken was in a spicy and tomato based sauce which was exactly what we wanted since most spots have a creamy sauce for almost all of their chicken or paneer dishes. Have to go back to try more menu items!

Came here to try a restaurant with a friend! This was my first time having Nepalese food!! I enjoyed the ambiance, lighting, decor, and vibes of the restaurant! Moreover, the service was great, and the servers were attentive. The restaurant itself is located in the Mission, relatively close to various public transport. As for the food, my friend and I got the kale chaat and onion naan to share. We each got our own momos and I opted for pork. Food summary:Pork momosI think the pork momos were so pretty in color, and it definitely had a good taste - a solid 8/10. Onion naanI also enjoyed the onion naan, which also had a good flavor and was buttery! I'd give it a solid 9/10.Kale chaatThis was my favorite dish of the night. I was surprised at first that it was cold, but this was my first time having chaat of any kind, so I didn't know what to expect. The flavors combined seamlessly - from the yogurt to the crispy kale. I enjoyed the dish thoroughly - a 10/10.Overall, I enjoyed this restaurant, and I loved being able to try these three dishes- all of which was my first time eating these! :)

Ideally, I'd give this place a 4.5/5.We went for dinner on a weekday around 6 pm when it wasn't very busy, but the place filled up quickly within half an hour. The restaurant has a spacious indoor dining area with a separate area for private group dining and bar seating.Service was prompt and friendly throughout our meal. Our server was attentive and even corrected a small error in our bill with a sincere apology. We started with the Kale Chaat, which was a delightful explosion of flavors - minty, sweet, and tangy. The crispy kale was perfectly balanced with the yogurt, mint, tamarind, and other toppings. We could have easily ordered another round! The Chicken Momos were juicy and flavorful, although not spicy. The accompanying sauce was a good complement. The Daal Makhni was decent, but I wished it had a slightly creamier texture. However, the Mixed Veggie Tikka Masala was truly amazing - rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.Overall, The Dancing Yak offers a lively atmosphere, excellent service, and a menu with several standout dishes. I highly recommend it for a casual and enjoyable dining experience

Had a lovely dinner here with some girlfriends where every dish was a hit! Very high 4 stars.Reservations made online a few weeks in advance. It wasn't too busy when I arrived around 6:30pm on a Tuesday, but at some point during the dinner rush they seemed fully booked. Our server was really helpful and recommended most dishes we ordered. She memorized our order which we were surprised about, then ended up forgetting one dish (the Shapta), but it worked out because we were pretty full with all the other food we'd ordered.$225 total for 3 alcoholic drinks, 1 nonalcoholic drink, 2 small plates, 2 mains, 1 house special, 1 classic curry, 3 garlic naan's, 1 dessert. Plenty of food for 5 of us! Only $45 per person total.COCKTAILS* Few Feet to Summit cocktail ($15) - 3.5 stars. A little too much on sweet side, but overall enjoyable.* Old Fashioned Nepal cocktail ($14) - SMALL PLATES* Fish Tawa ($14) - 4 stars* Kale Chaat ($13) - 5 stars. Fantastic mix of textures (creamy, crunchy) and flavors (tangy, sweet, savory).MAINS* Momo w chicken ($9 for 4pc) - 4 stars* Chowmein w tofu ($19) - 4.5 starsHOUSE SPECIALS* Aloo Cauli ($18) - 4 starsCLASSIC CURRIES* Saag w Paneer ($20) - 4 starsSIDES* Garlic Naan ($4 each) - 3.5 stars. A little hard to eat, a little too stretchy and hard to pull apart.DESSERT* Rasmalai ($12) - 4.5 stars

I keep coming back here because it's so good! The highlight of the meal was definitely the momo's. They're small but very flavorful. The cashew curry and matar paneer were also very good. I also have to highlight the cheese naan. It's simple but perfect. We had a reservation and got seated immediately. Dim lighting and a fun atmosphere!
