Wow....DAMNFINE is officially one of my new favorite pizza places. My partner and I have a tradition of celebrating Valentine's Day a week after so that we can avoid the crowds, and I'm so glad we went here. It was still very busy on a Thursday night, but we were able to get seated quickly. The customer service was fantastic, everyone was so kind and welcoming, as well as having great recommendations for what to eat.We started with the Desert Rose and California Super Bloom cocktails, and they were both so refreshing and strong. We ordered the Pig in the Woods and well as the Alotta Burrata, and we were so glad we ordered these two. Both were fantastic, but if I could only get one I would easily go with the Alotta Burrata (I am still dreaming about it right now). This restaurant has an amazing aesthetic and great quality food, which made the bit of a higher price point worth it. I cannot wait to go back.

TLDR:Superlative service, upscale cozy ambiance, good wood-fired pizza with a chewy semolina flour crust. Quality Pasta and salad selections too! We came here on a whim one busy Friday evening, and though the restaurant seemed packed with the front room rather loud inside, we were greeted and seated within three minutes upon getting past the door. Everyone on staff was extra friendly and treated us like old regulars! We sat in the covered rear dining area which has heat lamps to keep you warm. The menu isn't huge but here you have the basics covered - salads, appetizers, pizza and a few pasta choices. Between those, we chose the following:The Grinch Pizza: Creamy pesto, Brussels sprout leaves, apple, gorgonzola, mozzarella, provolone, garlic, pistachiosThe Grinch sounded great, but the flavor a of the gorgonzola and Brussels sprouts overpowered all the other ingredients. I was hoping for the pesto to be more dominant, instead the pizza comes across your palate more like a Gorgonzola-apple salad, so set your expectations correctly for this one!Margherita Pizza - on point. Good Mozzarella. Like the Grinch, we enjoyed the chewy semolina-based flour crust on this a lot too!Bucatini Pasta with Meatballs - loved the pasta & sauce. meatballs were ok.Loved the friendly caring professional staff here the most! They really make you feel welcome!

Damn Fine has become my favourite pizza spot in San Francisco. There are few places I would drive this far out of the way for pizza but Damn fine is one of them. The mushroom dream is our typical order but all the pizzas are good. Got to try the sandwiches for the first time and the fried chicken sandwich is great. Pastas are also good but the pizzas are really what you want. There is usually some type of fried appetiser on the menu and I haven't been disappointed when I have ordered one of those whether it's zucchini, calamari or green beans it's always been good.

I've been wanting to come try the pizzas for quite awhile. That opportunity was Tuesday night. I made a Resy reservation for 5:30pm party of three dine in. I didn't have an opportunity to change my reservation to party of two as daughter opted out due to illness. The hostess offered hubby & myself a table in the outdoor patio as there weren't any appropriate tables for two in the dining room. I asked if it was enclosed. Yes with patio heating. We asked to sit at the bar instead. Hubby & I recognized the footprint. It used to be a restaurant called Pisces. We don't recall a disco ball tucked above in the rafters. There's a ceiling fan and the dining room ceiling has been opened up exposing the beams. Ordered -* calamari - came hot to the table. Great aioli sauce with a bit of fire. * pepperoni thin crust pizza- cut into six slices. The pepperoni was thinly sliced. And somewhat crunchy. * hazy IPA on draft * henhouse canned beer. I had the hot honey side. I laced it over my slice of pizza. $2.00 for a small saucer. Hubby had chili flakes which he sprinkled over his pizza. Great attentive service. Being a cold January it was a little nippy for me. I kept my jacket on the whole time. There's also tables on the sidewalk but I can't imagine anyone eating on the street without patio heat lamps. It was nice sitting at the bar.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30pm with a party of 6. We were seated outside since we didn't have any reservations. This time the pizza came out pretty fast but it was just average.

EXCEPTIONAL PIZZA! ask for it well done! The pizza and appetizers here are usually delicious, though the service and drinks can be a bit lacking. I often have to repeatedly ask a few times for the same condiments/toppings and the drinks haven't been all that innovative or tasty considering their high prices. The pizzas can be a bit soggy and soft if you don't specify that you want them crispy, and occasionally when I have asked for marinara sauce on the side and was served cold pizza sauce instead. I also found it odd that the house wine was served in a regular "water" glass, though that is more of an observation than a complaint.Otherwise, seating is mostly pleasant and heated in the outdoors, though a bit tight at times. It can be impossible to have a private conversation since the tables are so close to one another.

Amazing pizza and quality ingredients. Sunset needed this level of quality. I had take which was pleasant. Cannot really judge the dine in option nor the ambience. JYW recommends !

What a cozy neighborhood gem and romantic date night spot! My friends and I came on a Sunday around 5:30 pm, and the only available seating was at the bar. Our server/bartender was friendly and welcoming. The pizzas are Naples style - wood fired, thin crust, soft center, and just how I like them! The Pig in the Wood was so delicious with the salty pancetta, rich truffle pecorino, and fragrant truffle oil. Although the menu listed enoki mushrooms, I thought they were actually beech mushrooms. As a lighter pizza, the Alotta Burrata paired well with the hot honey and Calabrian chilis in oil dipping/drizzling sides. The 6% employee benefits fee (regardless of party size) is pretty steep, but I loved my meal here. Can't wait to come back to try their cocktails and other pizzas!

Neighborhood bar and pizza joint. Love the simplicity, open space & hip clean cut decor. Very spacious, both indoor and outdoor. The staff are just lovely. They are very helpful, the foods are fantastic especially they make it right infront of you. But I love the drinks here, they got the stuffed olive & perfectly well mixed.

We had been wanting to try the pizza at Damn Fine for a while, and were not let down! To start, we ordered the wood fired carrots, which were roasted and served atop lemon-garlic ricotta, with a carrot top gremolata. The carrots were phenomenal - perfectly roasted and complemented beautifully with the lemon-garlic ricotta, which provided a creaminess that wasn't too heavy, with a nice citrus kick from the lemon that balanced out the roasted and creamy dish. We then tried two of their seasonal pizzas: the Lil Smokey and Grinch. The Grinch comes with Brussel sprout leaves, apple, gorgonzola, mozz, provolone, garlic, and pistachios atop a creamy pesto base. The creamy pesto was super tasty and the rest of the ingredients created a slightly sweet and crispy/textured pizza. We also ordered a side of Calabrian chilis in oil and hot honey, and loved the way each condiment added a nice kick to this pizza. The Lil Smokey was our favorite pizza of the night, with the Calabrian chili providing a nice kick that paired well with the fennel sausage, broccolini, smoked mozz, and provolone. The other pizzas and appetizers looked great, so we will definitely be back to try more of the menu (and the next iteration of seasonal pizzas). Highly recommended!
