I was missing the NY bagels so wanted to find a good bagel place nearby. This place is a gem, everything was made fresh, and I really liked serrano cheese bagel I got with honey butter cream cheese filling. Bagels are not as fluffy as NY bagels, but that's expected (I heard it's due to difference in water). I recommend this place to bagels/bread lovers!

small bakery that offers bagels / bagel sandwhiches as well as classic european style sandwhiches.my bagel sandwhich was filled with a fair amount of very fresh ingredients. the bagel itself had a nice flavor with a good chew, but it was missing the classic fluffiness and fullness of an east coast bagel ... have yet to find that in sf. the sandwhiches on baguette were very light and had simple flavors.

Dago Bagel is a little gem. But then I realized anything Tony touches turns to delicious. I'm not entirely surprised his bagel/bakery ended up being good. Dago has a real racial and negative connotation to it. Bold by Tony to go with that name. Even bolder that he makes this giant sweet flatbread thing with all these seasonings and honey on it. They got a savory one too! The bagels are assumed. They are good. What I've realized that elite bagel places do, is that they get them seasonings on both sides of the bagel. Not just the top. I'm requesting that be done here please. The amount of cream cheese they give you just isn't enough. Such a crime to under cheese a bagel. But the quality of the cream cheese is very nice. They have a lot of other really solid offerings that come and go. All good. I think what they do well but I don't buy is the bread. They got all types of bread and I feel like if you're in the neighborhood why not buy your special bread here? Everything is made in house. Again, well done Tony. If you're reading this give me a call. I'm your biggest fan. I just want an autograph. And more of your food. Thanks.(4.3 Stars)

Great bagels, flavorful lattes, and great back story. Owner Tony G transformed an offensive insult into a neighborhood favorite. Bravo!

Literally best bagel in the city, in my opinion. What sets them apart is their Asiago bagels - one has peppers , one does not. Both are equally fantastic, filling, and leave you wanting more.Staff is always incredibly kind. Take time to chat with them about the place and you'll learn it's part of the highly esteemed Tony Gemignani restaurant family. You can watch them make dough as you wait for your bagel and enjoy a slice of Italian culture.

Debuted at the end of the pandemic in response to an ethnic slur Dago Bagel from Tony Gemignani is one of three concepts inhabiting 728 Vallejo Street, and from Thursday through Sunday beginning at 08:00am guests are welcome to enjoy everything from true New York Style Bagels to housemade loaves and traditional Italian Pastries made with skill and love.A change of pace for the lauded Pizza maker, a man whose name is nearly-synonymous with North Beach, it is inside the shop that acts as both Bakery and storefront that guests will meet well trained staff and pleasant servers more than willing to discuss products and production at length.Beginning with Bagels, developed in conjunction with Adam Sachs, Dago's collection spans from Pride to Everything and from stretchy skin to a dense interior with good chew the "best" is a matter of personal opinion whether toasted with Cream Cheese or plain.Liberally using Malt and a Cuppone Panettone deck oven imported from Italy, plus stone-ground Flour made on-site, visitors attention is next drawn to Toscano Brothers including "Gold Standard" Baguettes and Organic Sourdough Ace Pagnotta incorporating Spelt, Rosemary and Olives into a 40 year old Sourdough starter.Trending sweet from here, a Sour Cherry and Chocolate Batard souring local produce and TCHO Chocolate, Tony's "Piattina" cuts a wide swath of textures and flavors before Antonio's Italians Pastries rounds things out with classic Rainbow Cookies and world-class Lemon Ricotta Cake plus silky Budino hidden alongside Prosciutto and Mortadella in the cold case.

Best bagels in North Beach by far, arguably in SF. Great baguettes & sandwiches too. Same dough & ownership as Tony's Pizza.

A regular, I just wish they were open everyday. I love the bagels, service, the cream cheese. Don't get the flatbreads. I bought 2 of them and they were burnt in the middle. I ended up throwing more than half away. Coffee is just meh. Just come here for the bagels and cream cheese. Their little baguette sandwiches are good too!

Cute little shop. I got the pepperoni pizza bagel! The rainbow cake, the Apricot scone and a cappuccino. We were leaving back to San Diego I opened yelp and there they were #1 on the list. Staff was great and fast.

Best bagels in SF! I no longer live in the city, but bought a two dozen during my last visit, and drove them 10 hours home to put in the freezer. Still great.
