When researching dinner options in San Fransisco, we first discovered Seven Hills, Collina's sister restaraunt. That led us to making a reservation at Collina.Collina is a smaller restaraunt but it offers quality service and delcious food. We enjoyed the Rosemary Focaccia, the Della Fattoria Toast with K&J Farms Bartlett Pear, Prosciutto, Honey Whipped Taleggio and the Wild Mushroom Arancini to begin our dinner. The arancini was hands down our favorite. I am still dreaming of the flavor and texture days later. For our entrees we had the Steamed PEI Mussels, the Agnolotti with Caramelized Sunchokes, Quince, Ricotta, Sage and the Lasagnette. My son raved about his mussels. And you just cannot go wrong with any of the pastas on their menu. It was all delcious.Collina and Seven Hills are worth checking out when in San Fransisco.

The food came out strong with the starting 2 dishes! 5/5 perfect and delicious Baked cheese & Raviolo (not pictured) are a must. The rest of the meal fell flat even the dessert. Such a bummer and happens more often then not. The service was great they were a 5/5 to me it felt welcoming and positive vibes from the staff. 5/5 for sure! Ambiance was good but cramped inside since its a smaller place. Thats all good since SF is dull of small amazing places. 4/5

Solid Italian spot! Not super fancy spot but great for casual dates and friend hangsWe ordered the arancini, mussels, and big ravioli. Arancini was very crispy and cheesy. The mussels portion was generous and fresh, the sauce was a bit too sour/pickled for my personal preference. The star of the night was the ravioli. It is very filling for a single ravioli and is very rich since the it's filled with ricotta, egg yolk and brown butter. It's a fun dish to order but I don't know if I could finish one alone so it was perfect to share.Service was kind and attentive; she helped make sure we didn't over order after mentioning we weren't super hungry. I wouldn't say any dish really wowed me so I wouldn't go out of my way for collina but for reasonable prices and solid Italian dishes, I would def visit again if I'm in the area

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. There's always a long wait for reservations, but it's worth the wait! This food was one of the best Italian meals I've had in the city. The truffle pasta was mind blowing, however a slightly too oily for my taste. The gnocchi was the star of the show, perfect sauce and mushrooms. Our friend enjoyed his lasagna, saying he's never eaten one like it. The Brussel sprouts and potatoes were perfectly seasoned and a great dish to share among the table. The ambiance is so cute and small, definitely gives a cozy vibe with the dark lighting. It's perfect for a small, intimate dinner and feeling like you're in a mom and pop Italian restaurant, but with a slightly elegant flare.

Collina is the little sister of Seven Hills, making it perfect for weeknight dinner out. I loved everything from the tasting menu we tried! The chicory salad was bitter and tangy but balanced with caramelized nuts and sweet persimmons. The toast was a good balance of savory, albeit a bit small for an appetizer. The smoky charred scallion aioli really shines in the arancini, which were stuffed with melty pockets of smoked mozzarella. The Lasagnette was decedent - I loved the spinach fontina and crispy edges of the pasta! The punchy bite of razor thin garlic slices and fresh basil in the spaghettini made the dish very unique - not a basic tomato sauce at all! We ordered the scallops on top of our courses meal and that was exceptional. The butternut squash sweetness went so well with Hokkaido scallops. We pretty much licked the plates clean. The tiramisu was better than the Budino, because it was a great light and airy finish to our meal. The budino was almost too big a portion (not complaining here!) so we needed more whipped cream and salted chocolate sauce to polish off the meal. I will be eager to return and try more seasonal dishes on rotation. The service was very friendly and it was refreshing to hear some of the staff raving about the things they loved on the menu as well.

We saw the viral lasagna and the viralo so we had to come try it! To our surprise we actually liked a different pasta even more! This is the restaurant to Seven Hills! But this was Seven Hills original location. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy. When they warn you about the parking situation, they mean it. It is not easy. You are better off going more towards vanness and walking a little bit.Service was impeccable. Everyone was very very nice and explained everything. They were very attentive. I would say if you're gonna order anything order the special bread, the lasagna and especially our favorite pasta on the menu was sunchoke pasta

Ok I dined here solo and it was such a great experience overall. I would definitely recommend making a reservation -- they were small and packed. The ambiance is cozy and reminds me of a Victorian home. For food I got the corn arancini and corn and pancetta fettuccine. The arancini were delicious and extremely light, i would recommend this if you're looking for an appetizer for a group. The pasta was also incredible and the corn flavor was punchy. I also loved how nuanced the flavor was. The only thing missing was some freshness! I also got the strawberry spritz that was delicious. Overall her biggest thing that impacted this review is the fantastic service. I was looked after by Danny and he made it a point to check on me and make conversation multiple times without being overbearing. I think this was some of the best service experiences I've ever had.

Overall: 4Service: 5Food: 4Value: 3Ambiance: small intimate restaurant on Hyde street. Large windows. A good amount of street noise but they have oldies music playing overhead to help mask it. Starter: little gem saladEntrée(s): spaghetti and chicken I love that Seven Hills is starting a new concept in their old location. It has a lot of potential, but I'd temper any expectations that this is going to be as good as Seven Hills (at the time of writing this). From what I tried, I didn't find anything that you'd hate but also nothing particularly bold that will stand out. The little gem salad was large enough to split between two people and had crisp, fresh veggies. It's very heavy with tarragon but the orange adds some zest to even it out. The spaghetti had some spice from the chili flakes but nothing that stood out other than that. The skin of the chicken was nice and crispy to add texture over the juicy, tender meat. It comes bone in, but there's really only a leg bone which was easy to get around.

Came in on a Saturday with my visiting friends after taking them on a walking tour of San Francisco. The host was extremely welcoming and he was super cool but the rest of the service staff was a tad slow. We were seated for a good 15 minutes before someone came and took our drink orders (our entire party took turns to go to the bathroom and still sat around waiting for someone to get to us). The place was fairly dimly lit and we were in the corner, but the booth seat was pretty comfortable which is a plus for me! As for the food - we ordered a few things off the menu and everything was pretty good. I liked the truffle pasta special, but it could have been more truffly. The lasagna was interesting. The most bang for buck dish was probably the pork milanese. I would rate this place solidly okay - but not good enough where it was memorable. There was also nothing there that made me want to be like "I need go back and have this ASAP" - but if you're craving Italian, it's a fun spot to check out.

Cozy place in Nob Hill. Sat at the bar as a walk-in on a Wednesday evening. The place was very busy and sounded like there were a lot of reservations. English Pea Arancini was perfectly creamy. Lasagenette was nice and meaty. The layers were beautiful to look at. Butterscotch Budino had a good slight saltiness to balance out the sweet. It's a bit thick but that could just be what Budino is supposed to be like so it's not really a complaint.
