Used to come here frequently, but yesterday popped in to get a bottle of water. Waited over 4 minutes at register, but no one was around.. went to the back of the store and saw that he was talking with someone else, I asked politely if I could purchase something. He barked back at me " you can wait until I'm done! Or you Can LEAVE!!"Wow. Great costume service from the old white haired man with missing teeth. Definitely will never be shopping here ever again. Was going to buy all my party supplies here for my summer pool party, I'll be going to BevMo instead. I'll definitely be sharing this experience with all my north beach neighbors. Bye forever Coit!!

This review will get taken down but business at this location is currently closed due to a major fire. As of Sunday March 18, 2018 there was a sign telling you where to get your stuff and/or order cases. I took a pic and posted but it was removed. It is close by. Of course right now I can't be a customer, this place is closed but I was impressed that the owners quickly thought of their customers. Just trying to help a business with a devastating loss until they regroup.

A well-maintained and stocked liquor store, and am sure they need to make a go of things after moving from their old location post-fire. That said, overpriced on just about every front and compared to most anywhere you'd buy liquor, save the local bodegas. As example, a bottle of Glemorangie Original scotch that goes for $28.99 at Safeway is $52 at Coit. That's quite the premium to pay for the luxury of using a local establishment.

Super pricey (like $17.99 for a bottle of Korbel pricey) but what do you expect in the city? Awesome staff who was super helpful and super funny. LARGE selection of beer, wine, hard alcohol, spritzers, small bottles and some candy. would return in a heartbeat if for nothing other than to talk to the cool staff again.

Everything in this store seems a bit overpriced but the location near Washington Square Park cannot be beat. If everything were a bit less pricey, Coit would earn four stars from me! Coit Liquor sells wine, beer, and, of course, liquor. They'll brown bag your tall glass beer for you too so that you can enjoy it in the park on a nice day!Funny, flattering conversation with one of the older employees today:(We were standing in front of the refrigerated white wines)Him: What type of wine are you looking for? Dry or sweet?Us: DryHim: Citrusy?Us: (didn't really need his help) Sure?Him: I want the wine to be perfect! Us: What about that sauvingnon blanc? (pointing)Him: Yes, that one is perfect! Perfect just like you girls! So we giggled awkwardly and bought the wine... and it was pretty good!

Coit Liquor has re-opened! Under new ownership and beautifully remodeled. Love their wine selection. Prices range from $10 to $600. They have an extensive liquor selection, cigars and beer. The new owner Shadi is a sweetheart and eager to help customers with a smile. Congratulations! Glad to have you in the neighborhood and I will be in often :)

I'm updating my review as 4 years later, this is, bar none, one of my favourite liquor stores to stop at for those rare, hard to find breweries with super helpful and knowledgeable (and funny) staff. There may be huge big box stores with hundreds of options, but if you're looking for those rare and hard to find craft beers from local breweries (or even non-local ones) that you can't find at the big stores, try here. If you ask nicely, they might even be able to find extra stock in the back for you.
