Breakfast is probably the most important meal of the day. My go to breakfast is a green smoothie. My alarm goes off early when most people are still sleeping. I begin the day w/ meditation followed by a fairly rigorous yoga practice. Eventually a few hours go by & 8am comes as my practices conclude. At 8am I will have my green smoothie to fuel my day until lunch. My green smoothie consists of bananas, kale, assorted fruit, fresh ginger, ground golden flax seed powder, chia seeds, soy yogurt, soy milk, & H20 all blended up in a blender. I top my green smoothie w/ shredded coconut that adds nice flavor as well as being an appealing garnish. I was a little off rhythm to start 2017 as Rainbow Grocery was closed on New Year's Day Sunday January 1st. The following Wednesday I was in the Castro heading towards the Mission looking to stock up on assorted fruit as had the rest of my green smoothie ingredients ready to go. It was starting to have a January drizzle that might have led up to a hard rain gonna fall like Bob Dylan. I didn't feel like going all the way to Rainbow Grocery & figured I would get some assorted fruit near the 16th ST BART station & hop on the train home to Oakland. I luckily discovered the Casa Thai Market. I stocked up on papaya, mangoes, & oranges. They had a nice selection of fruit at affordable prices & especially loved the papaya. I was good to go w/ my green smoothies for the next few days!

Tiny market but it has some good staples.I just grabbed some noodles and rice and pre packaged stuff but their fish/meat counter looked legit. The produce selection is just ok... go to Mi Tierra for fruit/veg :)

This is NOT a Thai grocery store. Maybe one or two Thai items. It also in a terrible area! Not too safe! A real disappointment. Do not waste your time going. Plus, really hard to find parking.

Great place for light grocery shopping! They have an interesting variety of Asian and Latin items, that somehow always winds up fulfilling exactly what I need for a recipe that calls for an obscure-ish ingredient. Produce is decent quality, decent variety and very affordable. Not everything always looks worth buying (too ripe etc) but it's generally good for my needs. They have a pretty extensive meat counter too with good prices. Not much in the way of frozen foods but they have every manner of Asian or Latin carb or carb-like item you might need for any purpose (spring roll wrappers, desserts, cookies, you name it!). I always wind up spending less than I expected, which is a pleasant surprise in SF. Location is convenient, right off BART. Staff are friendly and they take credit cards. This is a great stop for quick grocery needs if you're in the neighborhood!

Casa Thai has the lowest prices in the Mission for produce. The quality is always better than Duc Loi too. The only thing is that they don't always have what you want/need. They switch it up daily with what is best. You can definitely get a few days to up to a week's worth of groceries for under $10 here. Don't let the name of this place fool you either... It's not Thai, at all. It's a big mix of Latin and Asian groceries. The ladies who work here are quick and efficient as hell. I've heard them speak English, Cantonese, AND Spanish - all fluently. Plus they're super nice I haven't bought any meat yet, but the prices seemed fair. I will probably come back for oxtail because those bad boys were huge, meaty, and a good amount of fat on 'em. They have fresh chicharrones at the counter too, but I haven't tried.

Today I'm going to share of my favorite secrets in the city. I buy almost all my produce at this place. Their fruits and vegetables range between the quality you'd get at Safeway (decent) and the Farmer's Market (excellent). They also have a wide selection of meats too. The best part is that you're going to pay considerably less for your foodstuffs here than you will almost anywhere else in the city.Being that this market is a combination of Mexican and Thai influences, you can find sundry good from south-of-the-border and across the pacific.Good quality corner markets like this are part of the joys of living in a city. You owe yourself the favor of making this part of your regular weekly shopping experience.

Extremely overpriced. Buying from somewhere like Whole Foods your bill will be at least half the price as if you went here. Many items in the store are unlabeled so the cashiers can charge whatever prices they want. Maybe good if you want Latin goods & produce but there are many other similar grocery stores in the area.

Pretty disappointed. They messed up the majority of my pickup order that was approximately $75. Like not even close to what I ordered. By the time I realized the mistake I was 20 minutes away. I called and told them the mistake. They didn't offer anything. Said I'd have to take the food back. That'd be a minimum 40 minutes of my time for their mistake. Won't be going here again. The irony, I even tipped on a pickup order and they didn't even say thank you to that.

I am truly disgusted at what I seen. Bought some cabbage and cilantro, the cabbage had maggots inside & so did the cilantro! I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THERE EVER AGAIN NOR DO I RECOMMEND IT.
