Need something to keep you awake in class? Have exams/finals coming up but need a boost of energy? Get something here at Cafe 101! (Shameless advertisement) Other than the often long lines of students waiting to get the daily morning coffee, I love this place. I always grab a blueberry coffee cake (when I'm lucky its not all taken) and a Matcha Green Tea Latte. Sometimes I also get the Ice Gator with double-shots. It will definitely keep you awake during the day and it tastes really good. You can modify your drink around. The workers here are nice and efficiently fast with your drinks. So, the line may seem long but it goes by pretty fast. Drinks and snacks are inexpensive so it is "broke college student" affordable.

Too much milk! I'm not paying for milk. Luckily their minimum for card charge is $. A lot of coffee places at state including peets, but no real baristas.

On a rush, stressed from studying, failing half your courses, in debt from student loans? Get yourself some caffeine and sweet carbs to drown out your depression from college life.Cafe 101 is located inside the Caesar Chavez Center at San Francisco Sate University. This is basically the college version of Starbucks. Their menu consist of pastries such as donuts, muffins, and croissants. Of course, being a cafe, they also have a similar array of caffeinated drink selections. Such as latte's, standard expressos, frappuccino, all comes in hot or cold options. The prices are also very similar to what you would pay at a Starbucks. ranges from $3-5 depending on size of the drink. Same with pastries which averages about $3 for one.The taste is pretty good. You cannot really go wrong with pastries and coffee. The drinks are average. Not the best tasting coffee there is, but it's pretty decent. I usually get the Iced Vanilla Sweet Cream in large and from my experience, it's pretty good. Though I would suggest skipping the whipped cream, it's obviously a canned one and liquid and doesn't taste good. If you're someone who loves coffee and espresso like I do, it's not necessarily the best tasting coffee, but it's inside a college campus, don't be picky. Pastries are really good, which to me are their strong point. Particularly their glazed donuts are really great. As for their service, it's fast. Not the most friendly, but hey, who has time when you're a college student trying to make a living, and dealing with other extra dramatic and annoying college students. It gets pretty hectic around the afternoon especially towards brunch/lunch time, so make sure to be patient, it's a college campus after all.Overall, it's your standard cafe. It's convenient and decent. Nothing more and nothing less. Starbucks isn't all that when it comes to coffee and food, so getting coffee here isn't the end of the world if you're used to that Starbucks chain life.

This is the best place to get coffee from at SFSU (seriously). I would rather walk a little bit extra to get here because the quality of the drinks is so much better than anywhere else on campus. I don't know how or why but even a regular iced soy latte from here tastes much better than another shop. The is my go-to spot for a quick and delicious coffee.

Great stop for caffeine or non-caffeine drinks here. They sell a range of different pastries including donuts, muffins, and croissants. Lines can get long especially when 9 a.m. classes are about to start but service is quick. Seating is also plentiful.

Cafe 101 is a stable of the SFSU student's food diet. They have better pastries than the HSS cafe, the Bus stop cafe and Cafe Rosso, and generally their line goes faster than them all as they don't make sandwiches, which is also a drawback if you're a sandwich person.Their hot water tends to be warmer than Rosso and the Bus stop cafe, but cooler than HSS which will burn you like no other.I love their banana and pumpkin muffins, though less so now that they've started putting pounds of sugar on top of the latter, however service is always fast, friendly and I've never had an issue with something not showing up (Rosso) or having to shove through people to get it (HSS) or it taking forever (Bus stop).4 stars. Cause you're my favorite.

So I've been coming here more frequently because I don't want to endure the cold; waiting outside at Cafe Rosso. So I come to Cafe 101 where it is inside.I normally order a Double Tux with half the syrup, almond milk and not too hot and get my stampt. As I ordered my drink, I load stampt and was waiting for her the girl at the register to raise the card, then she stuck out her hand and says "YOU NEED TO PAY FIRST!"Number one: RUDE! Who ever you are (blonde chick working today, Feb 27 around 12:20pm at the register, YOU ARE RUDE! Number two: You are in a service environment, if you hate your job that much, quit.Number three: Hands on your hips with a negative attitude give the impression that you hate whatever you are doing NEGATIVE NANCY.Sorry Cafe 101, but this chick needs to be fired, PRONTO. Just because of this interaction today I decided NOT to tip and redo your review.

This is the place I go to when I need coffee on campus.Funny thing is that my boyfriend does not like coffee at all even though I'm a barista LOL Weird how he's dating me, the barista, but he doesn't like coffee. That doesn't seem right. Haha. Anyways, I remember getting an iced white mocha one day and I let him try it. He told me it was actually good. I was pretty shocked. What do they put in the coffee that makes non coffee lovers become coffee lovers? Haha

Another convenience spot fer me on campus. If I am too lazy to brew some coffee at home b4 work or i need to catch a second wind during the day iam here for my caffeine fix. Only stick with the organic mexican or sumatra cause the medium blends are how i do.Sucks during school breaks cause all they serve is the dark french--bleeggh! I try to avoid espresso (onaka ga itain kedo) but gotta do the egg-nog latte when it is avail in the holiday season. All the barristas are mostly students and depending on the time of the semester ya get horrible to great service. For kicks i make sure to come here during midterms and finals and usually have to hold back from the laughs cause major attitude is transmitted to faculty, students, and staff from all that work here. For the eats--avoid the donuts- they have the art of stale taste down packed though i know they receive new stuff every morning! (pounding fists on table) Just a travesty i tell you! The blueberry danish is the safe bet and try to beat the crazy rush here at 830a and noon, otherwise you will be waiting long time.
