"Review #002 - 2025I haven't written too many reviews lately since I feel like--unless a business really warrants a great review or a really poor review then I'm kind of wasting my time.I used to write reviews because I enjoyed the interaction with other Yelpers; but lately, Yelp just doesn't have that same community feel from when I first started. However, that shouldn't stop me from writing an honest review when a business deserves to be commended on their food/service.My two sisters and I showed up with our 3 daughters on Friday, February 21, around 5 PM.We were greeted and seated immediately. The place was pretty slow since it was still early for dinner so we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating. I didn't ask her name, but she's a cute young Asian girl, who always had a smile on her face.We ordered quite a few items to share. My older sister and two nieces each ordered the wagyu burger, which they all said was made to their liking. We had the pa'ina wings which were really tasty. The salt and pepper wings were a little salty for my preference, but the kids seemed to enjoy them.We had an order of regular fries and garlic fries, which we all enjoyed a little too much, considering we're all suppose to be eating "healthy".We ordered the garlic noodz with seafood and that was pretty tasty as well. The garlic butter shrimps were our least favorite because the shrimp had a weird smell, like it was drenched in lighter fluid, but the kitchen tried to make us a new order and it still came out smelling the same so they were kind enough to just remove it from our bill. The poke nachos arrived late, but we still enjoyed it. My sister ended up taking the rest home for her husband. The manager was very sweet! She brought the kids some complimentary pineapple Dole whip as an apology for the shrimp fiasco and sang "happy birthday" to our 16th year old niece. The whole experience was very memorable! We'll try to return should we ever happen to be in the area. Our waitress took some photos for us with their Instagram-worthy wall :)"
"I like this place a lot. We were in the area for a team building at the Clayroom just half a block down. After our event, we walked over to Azucar for a late lunch. We shared a round of chips and guacamole which was really good. I ordered the shrimp taco and they were definitely delicious. My colleagues loved everything they ordered. Service was great. Our waitress was friendly and quick. Churros were perfect! I'd definitely return if I was in the area. It's a cute, fun place with delicious food."

"Barebottle Brewing Company is a fantastic spot for beer lovers! With a wide selection of seasonal beers, there's something to suit every palate. We sampled a variety of their offerings and were impressed by the diversity and quality.Parking:Parking can be a bit tricky as it's limited to street parking, so be prepared to hunt for a spot, especially on weekends.Ambiance:The outdoor seating area is vibrant and welcoming, with colorful umbrellas and a relaxed atmosphere. It's the perfect place to enjoy a sunny day with good company and great drinks.Pastries from Neighbor Bakehouse:We also picked up some delightful pastries from Neighbor Bakehouse nearby. The desserts were fresh, delicious, and paired wonderfully with our beers.Tacos from El Fuego Food Truck:For a more savory option, we ordered fish tacos, and El Fuego tacos with beef and chicken from the El Fuego Food Truck. The tacos were flavorful and generously portioned, making for a great complement to the beers.Overall, Barebottle Brewing Company is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts and anyone looking for a fun and tasty experience in the area. Highly recommended!"
"The food was great! Service was fantastic. I was really grateful that we were offered a private room for our group due to predicted rain. But we actually got really lucky that it didn't rain that nice and still get to enjoy our team bonding dinner in the private room. The only downside for me is that they were allowing other guests to come in and out of our private room to use the restroom which I thought was a little strange. We weren't notified about that little detail. But the overall experience was great. The wine recommendation was good. Parking was not as bad especially since we can use the Spruce valet too across the street"
"Went here for dinner with my friends recently and all the pizzas were so yummy! They were pretty busy on a Thursday night as well but the food came out pretty fast. There was a bunch of options to choose from but we ordered the burrata, Ccalabrese + honey, and funghi pizzas. Definitely devoured those slices of pizza. I recommend coming here if you're craving some wood fired oven pizza with a good ambiance."
"3.5 stars is spot on. Service is very good, at least for us. Carnitas were excellent, I use these as a marker because sometimes they're super dry. But these were very good. A couple of beers on tap (I wish there were more) and the margaritas look good, but my friend wasn't drinking so I didn't imbibe. It's really unfortunate that this neighborhood has deteriorated so much. The restaurant was kind of empty. I hope they can survive, and I promise to do my part and return when I can. But this whole area now is sad and deserted. ugh"
"I give the Reuben by the Refuge establishment (whether San Mateo, San Carlos, or the former Mountain View location) a solid 5 out of 5 stars, every time. The flavor profile compliments the pastrami so well, I will always order it over any other food item on the menu. (My family lived off of mouth-watering pastrami sandwiches from NYC delis in the 80s, and this is honestly the closest and the best of what we can get in the Bay! The Pastrami sando on its own somehow doesn't do it for me.) I'm picky about my fries so I skip the fried items here. Besides, I enjoy every morsel of the Reuben I can't think about or fit anything else!I got the Half Soup/Half Reuben and the Coleslaw to share, which I love. The Hibiscus Punch was refreshing and not too sweet ;) I devoured them and was happily full to the brim. Service was courteous and prompt. This Hillsdale location is spacious, gets great natural light, has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. Convenient to access from the parking structure nearby. There are booths and tables that accommodate smaller and larger parties. I'd definitely come again when I'm in the area."
"If you haven't been able to visit yet, it's about time you took a spin with SPIN! I was the lucky +1 for a corporate event held here and I was impressed! The space was trendy and spacious, perfect for a gathering of the scale we were having. The food was also pretty tasty as well, although I am unclear if this was outside catering or SPIN's own. When the conversation hits a lull with colleagues, there was the option for fun with ping pong, arcade games, and more! My only complaint was I wish there were more seating amenable to eating - it was a little clumsy to try to eat off a bar table. Otherwise, I'd be back here for more ping pong and good times!"
"We had just finished our lunch reception for a funeral; and some of the siblings and cousins wanted something sweet. Since we were right down the street from where we had lunch, we walked right over to Sweet Connections. They offered so much to choose from. I got a small Kahlua pie ice cream. So good. The others had bingsu, shave ice, and ice cream. There must have been easily over 30 of us flooding the ice cream shop and just two servers, but they got everyone of us served. They served our group with a smile and were very helpful. We must've been there hanging out over two and a half hours but were not asked to leave. I think the owner was one of the two servers. We were taking pictures and she offered to help take our picture. She was so gracious. From outside, I thought it would be small, but to our surprise, it accommodated all 30 of us. It's a great place to get ice cream and to hangout. I would definitely come back with friends and family. And I would absolutely recommend this place. Check them out."

Cocktails are A1. Good place to watch the games. Large area for party reservations. Ample space for seating. They're well known for their wings which are pretty bomb but I especially enjoyed the drinks here.

You won't find this on any "best of" list, but that doesn't mean it's not great! This local corner eatery serves tacos and burritos that are as good as any you'll find around town. The burritos were my favorite. A regular will run you about $12 which is reasonable for the taste. The veggie options are a standout like the soyrizo (a veggie chorizo) or the cauliflower tacos. The drink list us extensive abs fun with twists on margaritas and palomas among others. Staff is very friendly and recognizes regulars. You'll love your visit in this cozy spot loved by locals.

4 stars for such a cool place. They have tons of choices of beer1 star for parkingThe service is great; theyre friendly and face. I had left my purse accidentally on the table while I went to the restroom and one of the waiters took it for me (and left it in their office) so no one else would take it. What a life saver!Ambiance is OK, its like a bar. They have a wall of games that I see kids playing with but I don't really see it being a kid friendly place.

Sociale has always been my favorite restaurant, it's where we go for my birthday and where we went to celebrate our engagement. We love the ambiance of the heated patio and that we can bring our dog along with us. I was diagnosed celiac back in September and it's been really heartbreaking not being able to eat the things I used to love and having a hard time at restaurants. Sociale was wonderful. Our waiter was immediately knowledgeable when I told him I had celiac and assured me my food would be safe. He even brought me a small cup of soup because I couldn't enjoy the bread, which was so so kind. I really miss bread and it made me feel less left out. I had an amazing meal of mushroom risotto and I didn't have any issues after so my food was safely handled. I can't express how appreciative I am that I can still enjoy my favorite restaurant. Only complaint - please bring back the blood orange panna cotta!!!!

We've been happily coming here since the pandemic and it's still my favorite pizza place. Our family always orders two pizzas and their refillable lemonades - the blood orange flavor is great. We've tried some new-to-us pizzas over the years, including the beef back rib and arugula and pesto lemon shrimp, but our favorite will always be the calabrese. The spiciness of the meat and sweetness of the honey complement each other so well, and I get hungry every time I think of it. We had my son's birthday dinner here last year and were very satisifed with the meal for our group of eleven. The pizzas were delicious and plentiful, the service was awesome, and the birthday boy enjoyed an awesome cheesecake with ice cream. I had made a reservation with Paris and he took very good care of us. Shout out to Dominique and Essandro (sp?) for their wonderful service as well!

Perfect spot to grab a bite or drink before a concert at the Civic Center. The inside is big was tons of seating and a bar. It was pretty empty for a Friday night so I was surprised. The service was quick and everyone was friendly here. They were attentive. The food came out fast.We got the taco platter to try and it was the perfect amount. Their tacos are pretty flavorful. My favorite taco was the shrimp one! The shrimp was not over cooked and seasoned perfectly! Also got a Cadillac margarita to try and boy it was good! Perfect amount of alcohol!

My husband and I shared a pastrami sandwich and Champe Cheesesteak sandwich with poutine fries. Very good pastrami! The pastrami was very tender and not too fatty. I ordered it on sourdough bread instead of the rye. The cheesesteak was ok, it needed some pickled jalapeños and onions. The poutine was ok too, it's definitely better in Canada. My older son ordered the pastrami burger and he loved it. My younger son ordered a kids burger and the family had a big laugh on how tiny it was . It was so cute, it was smaller than a slider. The pickle it came with was bigger than the burger. We will definitely come back for the pastrami.

This is a good spot in Downtown San Francisco to enjoy a game night with friends. Went to a private event here and enjoyed the atmosphere and the great level of service. The food was good and the drinks were refreshing. Lots of space to lounge and play ping pong. Tables were turning at Spin. Good place to have fun. For the win , you got to make it happen at Spin.

"Lost and Found is our new favorite Happy Hour spot to hang out at. Considering I don't like to go to places in SF in my free time or on weekends, Lost and Found was the perfect fun exception. They have really good Happy Hour deals and a lot to choose from which I appreciated. I am used to Happy Hour deals only offering 3-6 items. Menu: https://www.lostandfoundbarsf.com/menu.html Overview: Food: 9/10Service: 8/10Ambiance: 10/10Alcohol: 8/10Parking: 7/10What we ordered: Garlic Noodles - 10/10Birria Tacos - 8/10Lost & Found (LF) Wings - 10/10Ocean Beach Mule - 7/10FOOD: 9/10THE FOOD!!! SO. GOOD. Respectfully, I was not expecting much. Man, was I wrong? The portion was hearty. The food was so flavorful. The Garlic Noodles were my absolute favorite and had the perfect savory garlic taste. The LF wings were perfectly sweet, savory, and sticky. Another favorite! SERVICE: 8/10 Service was standard, nothing above and beyond, but the guy at the bar was chill. Every time we needed something, he was chill about it and attentive. There is water on the tap for self-serve along with utensils and napkins. AMBIANCE: 10/10 The ambiance was absolutely e v e r y t h i n g. What a vibe! The wall art was very cute. You can tell it's stuck on wallpaper but who cares? There were teddy bear candles on each table which sounded tacky but honestly, it was not. On each corner and wall, there are different TV stations turned on. The bar has sports while they have a projector projecting a movie. There is music in the background as well while all the TV/Movie viewings are silent and just for visuals. There is bar stool seating and a small amount of couch seating.ALCOHOL: 8/10Their alcohol is strong even for cocktails. I respect that because I know for the most part, you are paying money for the alcohol haha. But, if you are not a strong drinker, then just a heads up to consider. PARKING: 7/10Located on Taraval Street, depending on the time of day can be hit or miss. We stopped by on a Sunday evening so parking was found right up front and no need to pay for parking meters past 6 pm."
"I've now been here more than five times. And I wanna make sure everyone knows that they have an absolutely insane Smashburger !This burger is fantastic . Do I need to explain it? no, but if you like a good crispy smash burger with a great potato bun this is it.Since they brew their own beer, there's plenty of choices and I know you will like the one that you find that suits you. They've expanded because of demand so enjoy when you can."
"Unique ambiance, a great hang out place even during the day. There are super large TV where you can watch sports, but the bar still looks cool and doesn't have the sports bar vibe.My gf and I ordered pretzels, churros, and cauliflower fritters. I thought all of them taste great, but might be a little pricey for bar bites.Service was great, the bartender got to us quickly. Our orders came in pretty quickly too. A very random gem in the neighborhood."
"The staff here are amazing!! We had a big event here and all the staff were so nice and helpful. The food, drinks, and service was great. Angel in particular was the best! She helped me locate things, clean, and arrange everything properly. Would highly recommend to host an event or just eat here and don't forget to tip the amazing staff!"
"Came here for NYE dinner with a friend. We both ordered the prime rib. I let the waitress know that I also wanted to order something to-go, but that I would tell her later in the evening. She insisted I tell her now and she'd take care of it, and so I did. We were quickly served bread, and our food followed shortly after. The bread comes with a side of butter and balsamic+oil. The prime rib and the accompanying side dishes were perfectly cooked. The prime rib paired with the au jus was *chef's kiss*. For dessert, I ordered the famous mud pie, while my friend ordered the crème brûlée. The mud pie was okay. I was disappointed there wasn't a thicker crust. It was essentially a large plate of ice cream with whipped cream and fudge. The creme brûlée was also okay. It was made with white chocolate and would've been more well-balanced if it came with more fruit. Now here is the kicker. We get the bill and notice the to-go order was not on it. I tell our waitress and she goes to get it fixed. Well, it turns out she completely forgot to place the order and by then, the kitchen had already closed down. This is why I initially said i would personally let her know about my to-go item later, but she insisted I tell her at the beginning. Aside from a simple apology, there was no other attempt at service recovery. That food was meant to be a NYE meal for someone who now had to ring in the new year on an empty stomach. Not to mention, by that hour, it was impossible for me to find an appropriate alternative elsewhere. The food is good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I will not be coming back a second time."
"SF Restaurant Week, It's always a tradition of mine to partake in this SF restaurant event. When I made a reservation to Isa, this time around, I did not remember that I've been here, 7 years ago, also for restaurant. After checking in with the host, the host, welcomed me back. I was surprised, thinking, I was here previously? After we got seated, I found the Yelp review I wrote 7 years ago. Ah, I was. 7 years ago, Restaurant Week deal was $40 for 4 course meal, and for inflation and whatnot, in Nov 2024, it was $66. Prices went up 50%. When I was ordering, I definitely went back to my review and took my own recommendations. So to sum up my experience: - Service: It's slow, It was slow 7 years ago, it's still slow in Nov 2024. The restaurant was not busy, but it took awhile for us to get our food. I'm thinking it's the good for ppl to have a glass of wine to sip and chat. However, our group didn't order drinks, and we were just on our phone waiting for the food to come out. Let's just say that they did not adjust serving speed to customer's dining behavior.- Food, for restaurant week, we ordered a couple of items to share and got different entrees. 1st course: Maine Lobster Broth, it was the bathwater of Maine Lobster because we did not see any lobster, instead, you get a piece of shrimp. It was kind of misleading. This was also on the salty side 2nd course: our table got 3 different kinds to share, in the order that I recommend:Yellowfin Tuna: I also got this 7 years ago, and this time asked them to omit the siracha, so it's not too spicy for me. I still really liked it. Personally, that was the best app among the 3 that we got. Mussels: The favor of the mussels was on point. I'm not a big mussel person but still thought it was good. Dungeness Crab Salad: This was a bit disappointing. I love crab and was looking forward to this the most. The crab was on top of lettuce leaves, along with apple and other toppings. You could have eaten it like a wrap. However, the favor of the other things, like the apple overpower the carb. While the crab was supposed to be the star, it did not stand out. We thought that it was a bit waste of the carb. 3rd course: Duck breast, From my yelp review 7 years ago, I took my own advice and got the duck breast. And I was very very happy about my decision. The dish came with a little salad on the plate with some potatoes and the duck breast. The favor on the duck breast was sooooo good!! And the salad was also good. So the whole dish was very pretty and very satisfyingLamb chop, My friend got this dish, I'm not a big lamb person, but my friend really liked it and the flavor was on point. Seasonal Fish, Halibut, This options was sad, very sad. The fish was dry and the plating was non-existent. It didn't feel like it was a dish, more like a side of fish. My friend who got this, got the short end of the stick on this course and the previous course and would only give 2 stars on this meal.Dessert: Creme brulee, it was good, not thing to complain about but it didn't wow usOverall, I was happy with the meal, but we did think it was on the pricier side. I don't know I would come back beyond restaurant week though"
"Made reservations to celebrate a special occasion and was not disappointed. From start to finish the staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. Every plate was incredible and presented beautifully. Dessert is part of the tasting menu and they also bring over a dessert cart and send you off with biscotti! This was a 10/10 experience and I be back in the near future."
"We came at 5pm on Halloween day and the entire place was empty. Score! We got our shoes promptly and they started up our lanes. The venue is really nice with plush leather couches and a small arcade attached. It's a good spot for team building. If you're serious about bowling, it's probably not the best spot. The balls were pretty damaged and there weren't many to choose from. The screens are smaller and you don't get cool stats like ball speed or any playback visuals. Minus 1 star.Minus 2 stars for service. There was one grumpy waitress working and our tower of beer was almost room temperature. When I told her it seemed flat, she corrected me with "It's not flat. It's just WARM." My bad, now it's tasty right.I asked for sauvignon blanc. She said they didn't have any at the moment and seemed annoyed.I got my drink about 20 minutes later than everyone else despite us being the only group there. She never came around again for the rest of the night, so I went to the front of the establishment to hunt for someone to order from. I was offered sauvignon blanc so obviously I said I wanted that. Then the waitress came back around and said, "As I said before, we do NOT have sauvignon blanc." Everyone was in awe at that level of attitude from a server on such a not busy day. We still tipped the max because the company was paying for it and we had excess dollars, and hey - maybe she was having a bad day. But don't take it out on someone that did nothing to you"
"Service was excellent. Gigi was very personable and attentive to our needs making sure our drinks were always toped off!! Ambiance was nice. Tables were not too close to each other and noise level was tolerable.Food:1) Crispy Dinuguan - very tasty and pork was not fatty. 5 of 52) Pancit Miki Bihon - flavor was slightly bland 3 of 5. Seemed like it was missing something but could not figure it out3) Pinakbet - kind of soupy and we liked as it was not too salty. 4 of 54) Chicken Inasal - flavor was spot on so 5 of 55) Crispy pata - excellent 5 of 56) lumpia shanghai was slightly over cooked 3 of 57) calamari was also spot on so 5 of 5We know what to order at the next visit and we look forward to having Gigi service us. She is great and we really enjoyed interacting with her!!"
"Enjoyed an epic dinner with an epic view of the Bay Bridge. Ordered the ribeye with the special add-on, which included a starter, side dish, and dessert for just an extra $35.Every single dish was delicious. Our favorite was the roasted Brussels sprouts; perfectly crispy and flavorful. The lentil soup was also a standout. The ribeye, cooked medium rare, was tender and melted in our mouths, though a bit fatty for my taste. And the cheesecake was rich and filling.Service was good, and the ambiance was spectacular, especially with the beautiful location. Highly recommend and would definitely be back!"
"Food was good! Bartenders are great but they accidentally forgot to get our food. They remade it since the one they had made got cold.Drinks are good! Got the old fashioned and the Plank Sunrise. Both were nice! This is a fun place to go for a celebration with friends."
"Z is amazing super spectacular service gentle face with a great smile Food was good , decent portions Parking can be tricky"
"Service was attentive and top notched. Our waters were always full. When my pregnancy was made known, I was greatly impressed by the thoughtfulness of our servers. While my table were toasting with their wines, it wasn't left out and given a glass of some sparkling pineapple juice. Our server was patient and explained the menu and made wonderful recommendations.Food was phenomenal and presentation was stunning. My table had ordered one of each of their desserts and no crumbs were left behind"
