"My friend and I came here to check out their happy hour $36/person from 5-6:30pm. Good thing we got here at 5:10pm, because the deal only works if you're done eating by 6:30pm. The sign didn't make that clear and probably dupe people to come in around 6pm but not able to finish eating by 6:30pm. It was $46.14 each person even with the happy hour deal, including tax, tips, and SF health care mandate. The decorations inside are very cute!It was a great selection of food! We enjoyed 2 plates of chicken karagge, 1 plate of gyoza, and fried fish balls for appetizers. We picked the Japanese broth tonkatsu and sukiyaki. We had different types of beef, seafood deluxe, octopus, house made meatballs, squash, seaweed, and udon. It was too much food and I stuffed myself too much, so I recommend not ordering the udon, octopus, and meatballs. The Japanese meatballs tasted odd to me. I should've ordered the vegetable combo, more meat, and more appetizers instead. Definitely order the chicken karagge cause that was bomb!!"
"I have been here multiple times for just casual eats or even a night out and every time is just as good. They are open super late, staff is friendly and sweet - very attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend the pork belly skewers, fried chicken, drinks, desserts, and they have a great drink selection."

"Came here on a Friday night with friends and there was a bit of a wait around 6:45 but we didn't have to wait long$260 for 4 people: 20% gratuity was automatically included because 4 people is considered a large party hereThis is what we ordered (not everything is pictured):- potato salad (complimentary appetizer/side that is soooo good)- dirty cauliflower (we had a veggie hater at our table who was pleasantly surprised and ended up loving it)- fried shrimp ball (one big ball with incisions for four pieces, very yummy)- 2 skewer combos (great way to sample different things but our table felt the chicken was the best)- oxtail omurice (a bit disappointed the egg didn't do the runny thing when we cut it open like traditional omurice, this was very rich and flavorful, presented very nicely but I'd get something different next time)- garlic chili tonkatsu ramen (they ran out of the pork belly and had to substitute it with more thin pieces of meat)Yes, was a bit on the pricier side but we enjoyed the ambience inside and the food was delicious. Personally I only enjoyed the skewers and I'd definitely come back to try their happy hour!"
"I came on a Sunday at noon and remembered to join the waitlist ahead of time. I was seated immediately upon arrival and saw that it got busier but there were still tables by the time I left at 1pm.I had the miso ramen and would get it again. I think it's slightly more watery than other miso ramen I've had but I really liked it the way they do it here. It still has an intense dose of flavor and I personally liked that it was a little less intense miso flavor. Also had the chicken karaage and it just slaps!!!!! So good!"
"We came here on a Thursday night around 7 and got free street parking. I saw a few garages nearby, but I think you may need to pay for parking. There was actually a good amount of people on a weekday night, but we got a table right away! The restaurant is spacious and clean. Opted in for the all-you-can-eat for $45.99, and this includes drinks. You order on a tablet and staff will take the tablet once you finish ordering and hand it back when you're ready for the next round. The sushi rolls here are a very good portion and can fill you up, so I would advise to take advantage of the sashimi and nigiri first! Our favorite was the ikura (fish roe) nigiri - although it's a bit salty, the flavor still explodes in your mouth the right way. The hand rolls were okay, we got the spicy tuna one and it didn't stand out to us and there was a lot of rice - I would probably skip out on this next time. It's rare to find AYCE sushi places now, and Ultra Sushi is definitely worth a try!"

I'll preface this review by saying this may be a worthwhile meal for big eaters, particularly meat eaters who opt for the AYCE menu at $41 for their cheaper option. My group didn't have a particularly big appetite for dinner so we opted for the a la carte. I don't go out for hot pot very often and I'm reminded why after a trip to Jin's. Each meat place was pricey for the portion; at $18 for a plate of pork, you could get better quality meat and a larger portion from the grocery store. However, I think they offered decent portion size for vegetables, fish balls, etc. The broth is usually the best part of any shabu meal, but they missed the mark with the sukiyaki and pork bone broth. The sukiyaki was too sweet and the pork bone broth was bland. I'd also pass on the takoyaki fries. It was nothing special, just a plate of fries with a little dressing of takoyaki sauce, mayo, and bonito flakes. The service was okay but make sure to take a picture of what you selected on the menu before giving it to the waiter. There was a slight mix up on our order, but it was addressed rather quickly. I appreciate that the waitress brought each of us a serving of ice cream for celebrating a birthday!

Great vibes in here! We arrived at 7pm on a Friday and were surprised to be seated right away! This is our 3rd time here and there's usually typically a wait (but that could also be happy hour times). I let my friends ordered and all the food HIT THE SPOT. See pictures for the description! The music was good, the ambiance (in the main room) was nice, and the food was very tasty!!

We randomly went on a Tuesday night which happened to be all day happy hour! Ambiance: Nice, dim setting. Food:1. Sushi nuggies (HH $10) - delicious 2. Spicy crunch salmon (HH $5) - so good 3. Mentaiko Ikura Carbonara ($32) - pretty pricey for what it is and also not a huge portion, but it was really good! 4. Shishito peppers (HH $6) - also good! 5. Gizzards (HH $6) - not a huge fan of gizzards, but this was tasty. 6. Chicken thigh skewer (HH $6) - this was good! 7. Berry lychee spritzer ($15) - this was delicious. Favorite drink of the night. 8. Pineapple beer ($9) - this was great, but couldn't really taste the pineapple. 9. Miso trio hand roll (HH $5) - this was amazing. I'd definitely order this again. 10. Yuzu nigori glass (HH $5) - this was like a shot lol it was pretty strong 11. Strawberry nigori (HH $5) - this was good12. Free potato salad side per person Service: Great and accommodating. They'll let you have extra potato salad if they think there will be enough for the rest of the night.

The service was incredible here. We ordered the sand storm calamari, tokusei tsukemen (dipping noodle) and shio chuka soba (chicken ramen). The sand storm calamari was perfectly crispy and I LOVED the chili crisps that came with it. The tokusei tsukemen was a fun experience to try and the pork chashu here was the best I've ever had, it was so tender. The shio chuka soba was light and delicious. Even the egg was orange and the perfect consistency. This is definitely my favorite ramen restaurant in the city, can't wait to come back and try the tonkatsu ramen next time!

So glad I bookmarked this place & even more glad we finally got to give Ultra Sushi a try!! With a long day in the city on New Year's Eve and my toddler craving for some sushi, I quickly scrolled through my bookmarks and stumbled across this gem. I threw out the idea of AYCE and everyone seemed to be on board. Looking for parking delayed our arrival. Either opt to park in the structure to simplify things or be okay with driving back and forth, up and down in attempts to find an open spot. Lucky for us, the restaurant wasn't remotely full which immediately got us seated. Our part of 3 decided to go with AYCE. At $46 per adult & $20 for children under the age of 10, this cost covers both soda & hot sake for those of age. You are essentially provided 90 mins to enjoy and each time you place an order, there is a cap off amount of 3 items per person. Starred items on the menu are considered "special" and each starred item ordered must come with 2 regular non-starred items. As always, excess food left behind will result in a charge. There are certain items clearly labeled that an additional charge will be added. The menu was pretty extensive. Ultra Sushi offers appetizers, "unique" items, nigiri, skewers, sushi rolls, hand rolls, & sashimi. Highlight items of the night:-Oysters On The Half Shell-Short Rib Teriyaki-Hotate Nigiri-Chicken Gizzard SkewersThe negative:-The door was kept open during the entire visit and it was a very brisk, chilly night. I literally had to keep my 4 yo puffy jacket on during the meal. -There is a pretty long delay for items ordered. The miso soup that is not included in the AYCE menu seemed to be forgotten and we had to mention the missing item to 2 separate staff members. Items such as the Wakame salad took longer than required factoring in there is no cook time. -Not sure if the kitchen staff was overwhelmed by orders but we are pretty certain some ordered items never came out. Not a deal breaker but we were also too worried to quickly reorder in fear that DOUBLE the amount would come out. -While the menu looked enticing, a lot of the key popular items just so happen to be "sold out". New Year's Eve went without uni & tuna toro. Booooooo!!!!3.5 stars overall but I bumped the rating up to 4. My guy would need some pep talking in order to return but I'd happily come back. Hopefully my next visit to Ultra Sushi will have uni on the menu.

Absolutely loved this little spot. The fish is fresh and we got a mix of classics and unique servings. Would highly recommend the Okane roll and getting the omakase options. The handrolls especially were served beautifully and a delicious surprise.Gotta go back to try the full omakase and then their flagship, Omakase ;)!!

Amazing. And they have a Milpitas location too, and maybe another, I forgot. Great service and ambiance. Ordered the Giants roll, toro roll with mango, oyster specials (don't squeeze too much lemon juice onto it, it overpowers a little!), 4 skewers (which were good but not amazing, but solid), geso fry, and creamy udon. Creamy udon is big btw! Plan your stomach accordingly if you get the creamy udon.Absolutely will be back, prob to try their Milpitas location as it's closer to me.

Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. Was impressed by the ambiance which was traditional and cozy. Our server was very attentive and our food came out quickly. Karaage - came out piping hot and was juicy. The chicken seemed to be pre marinated which made it taste extra flavorful. The skin is on the more thin side and didn't exactly stay on, but was still crunchy.Negi toro - my husband really liked this. The tuna was fatty and the mix with the scallion was good.49er roll - fresh salmon and was very goodHamachi and salmon nigiri - fatty pieces and the rice was a good temperature and seasoned well.Hotate kushi (scallop skewers) - we were a bit disappointed in this. The scallops were overcooked and tasted more like dried scallops. We were expecting one large scallop, not 4 smaller ones.Matcha cheesecake - not too sweet and nice and thick (American style)Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed the quality of the service and food! Prices are pretty standard for the area.

"Truly blessed to live so close to this place! The fish here are some if the freshest and reasonably pricesld ive had in sf.The service and the ambiance of the place make this a great date spot, we will definitely be coming back for that unagi don!"
"Our first time in. Brought a friend and it did not disappoint. Food is really good. Ambiance is great."
"Our first time here, we enjoyed the authentic Japanese food and friendly service at this cozy spot. All the sushi rolls we tried were fresh, the udon hit the spot, and the mochi Dashi was interesting (but we'll stick with agedashi next time). Our favorite roll was the wagyu, so good! They have a big menu with izakaya, sushi rolls, and soup noodle dishes. They didn't seem super busy when we visited, and could use your business, come support this Japanese owned restaurant. Pro tip- the happy hour from 5-6 is a great deal!"
"4.3 starsFriend and I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to have their lunch specials. My friend ordered the Katsu Don (tonkatsu over rice) and I ordered the 2-item bento box with my choice of chicken teriyaki and saba shioyaki (fish). We were the only patrons inside the restaurant and service was minimal, but sufficient. The food took some time to come out but I presumed the dishes were made to order. The katsu don was a generous bowl, and my friend was very full. The bento box itself was not the typical bento boxes you see, but rather, it was divided in 3 compartments in which each one held the chicken, fish, and salad. Saba shioyaki was salted well and the teriyaki chicken was moist and flavorful. Overall, this was a good place to consider for lunch if you are in the area. Otherwise, the food was good, but not so much to go out of my way for."
"I took my kid on an SF adventure tour just before the new school year started. We took the ferry into the city, the tram to to pier 39 (the sea lions are still there) and then cable car to Chinatown. After quite a lot of walking, the hunger came quickly and since I can always get her with a bowl of soup, we took a break at Ramen Hiroshi. What a treat!!! Have you ever heard a 4 year old sigh and moan over a bowl of soup? I have now. People around us were a bit bemused, but she was so into slurping and tasting, she didn't care. And I was such a proud mama!Stop by for a nice lunch and taste their absolutely amazing ramen! We also sampled some edamame and gyoza. Stellar!"
"To be honest, I'm pretty underwhelmed. While I thought the food was good, it lacked flavor, especially the chicken ramen. Also, the restaurant is tiny, and we waited for a nice three-person table for over twenty minutes. They put us at the communal table by the door. It was wet and raining, so inconsiderate of their part. They were also really standoffish and made us order with QR codes. This isn't Corona anymore; I want a waiter. Now, the food. I was expecting something visually amazing for $20 something dollars of Ramen. I'd rather go to Hinodeya. The staff also doesn't speak Japanese (which is not a good sign), and the truffle fries and yuzu miso salad again lack the oomph I normally taste in Japanese cuisine. Overrated Ramen spot."
