"I am in town visiting for a few days and searched Yelp for a good coffee spot to try before walking the Golden Gate Bridge. Home Coffee Roasters came up as one of the highest and most rated (4.5 stars & ~850 reviews) shops in the area. The shop is pretty cute overall with standard coffee shop seating and beans and other knick knacks for sale. I ordered a cappuccino and my girlfriend had the London fog latte. The London fog was fairly good, with a strong tea note and sweetened nicely. The cappuccino was quite the disappointment - the espresso tasted burnt with no other flavors to note. Disappointing that a burnt cap is what you get for $5.50. If you're in the mood for tea, come here. If you want good coffee, maybe look elsewhere."
"I went here for the first time to meet a friend and had a wonderful experience. Fantastic coffee shop experience with a great beach town vibe.Although the weather was cool and foggy, nothing could spoil the great time sitting outside observing surfers, dogs, and locals alike.I had a pour over (medium roast) with the steel cut oats. The coffee was so perfectly balanced, not bitter, and just right, I didn't need cream or sugar. The oats were amazing. So perfectly textured and creamy, with a nutty flavor. I thought they had made it with heavy cream. I was astounded to learn they hadn't. Fantastic experience, def. try it if you get the chance. Everything that went by our table, from omlettes to salads, looked delicious. I can't wait to try the other goodies on the menu."

"House made chai!! Very nice! I'll be back! Was told that I will love it. I did!! Egg sandwich- the bread absolutely amazing! The quality of each of the ingredients was excellent and NOT overwhelming so you could enjoy every bite. I did not add anything to the sandwich until the very end I added Tapatio as I like variety! Yeah a great choice, not needed but enjoyed!! Environment is awesome! Big open windows looking out to the school and Dolores park! Large inside and outside dining with plenty of space to visit in small groups or singles! Oh and nice music loud enough ti enjoy but not disturb! Clean and inviting staff was eager and working hard but not interrupting! Excellent Thanks for a great morning !"
"I always love coming here to get beans for my girlfriend's dad since it just feels like home. The beautiful thing is being able to get a free cup of coffee from buying a bag of beans. I've noticed a lot of other places don't do that and it makes me sad. Service was super quick and great personalities all around. It's a quaint little place but I always feel positive energy when I am here."
"This is one of the coffee shops around our neighborhood. The service is great, the coffee is amazing! I had a vanilla latte and I just wanted more. Perfectly made, just wished I had opted for the bigger cup :) good chill ambiance."

Home Coffee is consistent with all their locations. This one is walking distance from me and is a good spot to get work done. Coffee is good across the board, there are seats available and wifi available. Grab a bite and a drink here! It's so fun when the sun is out and you want to just hang out or get work done. Order at the kiosk or at the counter. Staff is always so warm and welcoming!

Such a cool experience heading to one of the best coffee spots in Pacifica ~ with a line out the door and surfers coming/going from the coast, it's def the spot to be. Walking distance from our overnight lodging, we had the opportunity of having Soul Grind a few times during our stay in Pacifica. You can scan a QR code to view the menu while in line to speed up your time with the cashier, or there are actual menus to grab when you get through the front door. Really great menu of in-house roasted coffee, a selection of teas, "soul chai", teas, iced drinks, and fun specialties like charcoal lattes and a latte with a home-made mix of vanilla & caramel called the Cliffside. The food menu is stellar with a little something for everyone ~ breakfast bagels, parfaits, toasts, quiches, soup/sandwiches, hearty grain salads, pastries/quick grab desserts, and brunch on weekends (Friday-Sunday;7am - 1PM). The iced chai, macchiato, and iced cold brew (slow-brewed for 18 hours), were perfection. We chose to grab brunch at another spot because we were on limited time, but would def come back to grab something fun from the menu. Friendly service, line moves quick if prepared, and can't beat the awesome people watching/surfer gazing. And there's plenty of cool merch to think over while waiting your turn. All in all, the hype is real..I was hangin all the way ten' for sure!

Got some breakfast before a picnic at Dolores Park! We shared a lox bagel and french toast. The lox came open face which made it really easy to share! french toast had great texture and a good amount of fruit. We dined in and got a table and felt the cute cafe vibes! Thanks to whoever left their newspaper, we read it at the park.

I must tell you about this storied place.Remember when coffee houses were a cool place to hang out? People used to go to a neighborhood coffee house to just relax. You know, before Bigbucks Corporation put out those cookie-cutter, industrial vibe caffeine dispensaries. Hat tip to Steve Martin (L.A. Story) and Will Ferrell (Elf) for showing us how manic the coffee scene is nowadays.I found this neighborhood coffee house on Noriega Street, between 23rd & 24th. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was a couple of good looking young people behind the counter. They had no facial piercings, weird hair colors, or neck tattoos. Not that there's anything wrong with that.. But first impressions are, you know, first impressions. So I took a deep breath and looked around the room. There was a professorial looking gentleman by the window, reading a well-worn, yellowed page novel. I imagine his mind was onboard the Pequod with Captain Ahab, reeling as the solid white buttress of Moby Dick's forehead smote the ship's starboard bow.In the middle of the room was a college student working on Algebra homework. I considered offering to help her, as that reminded me of how I met my wife. But then, she looked like she wasn't having any trouble with it.At a back table appeared to be a young couple who were "not on a date", but just getting coffee. They seemed to be getting along very well and I hope that they would plan a date after this little meet up.I noticed in the back of the shop a couple of coffee roasting machines where they roast their coffee in-house. Which snaps me back to the reason I stopped in here. I want to buy some freshly roasted coffee, not the stuff from Bigbucks Corporation which was roasted a year ago and has been sitting in a warehouse, and then on a truck, and then on a grocery store shelf..I talked with the guy behind the counter. He actually wanted to talk about coffee, not social justice or politics. How refreshing! I told him what I like and what I was looking for. He directed me to the Vista roast. I bought a pound ($19). That brings me to a pet peeve about the grocery store coffees. They used to sell coffee by the pound. Then they went to 14 oz bags, like no one would notice. Now 12 oz bags are the norm. And Cheep Pete's cut theirs down to 10.5 oz! Do they really think that consumers are so dumb that we wouldn't notice the shrinkflation?Coming back to the coffee house. This place is called Henry's House of Coffee. They have been around for a long time, but I just discovered it recently. I have returned a couple of times to get more beans. The last time, the guy who sold me the beans offered me a free cup of coffee. That was nice. Now, I don't think you can get a Freddoccino here, but if you want a latte or mocha, half-caff, oat milk, whatever, they can make it for you. They are fully equipped to handle all those special orders. Me? I'm going to take my cup of coffee over to the table by Mr gray beard and tweed jacket, and ask if he's reading Melville.

Nice decor, coffee, menu, and selection of treats. But we ordered a cappuccino and it was literally lukewarm right off the counter. First time here will not come back.

Went to Church to a place with a cult following in San Francisco . This cult congregated for decades to this spot to wake up the mind with hot holy water of coffee and teas on Church street and Duncan ( Not Dunkin Donuts or Dunkin Coffee ). Martha & Brothers Coffee at the Church street location in Noe Valley has been a neighborhood staple for many years. When it comes to coffee there are many cult followings such as Peet's Coffee cult followers the Peetniks. This Martha's Coffee & Brothers location is quite different from the newer Martha's location on 24th street. This location has plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The menu offers plenty of coffee and tea. They also have pastries which are sweet and savory such as crumb cakes , empanadas, and home made bread pudding. I got the smoothie called the Island Blast which had orange juice, strawberry, pineapple, and mango. It had smooth tropical juicy taste and it was not too sweet. This location menu is similar to the other Martha & Brothers locations in San Francisco.Go to Church and get blessed by the coffee from Martha & Brothers with seasonal flavors like Pumpkin This Martha and Brothers Coffee is located in Noe Valley on Church and on the corner of the street called Duncan

Cute coffee shop, small seating area inside, and a couple of patio tables out front. I walked over from Belmont to try a local coffee shop that wasn't Starbucks or Peet's. I'm glad I got my steps in and found a more unique option. Service was fine, cashier was nice enough, I'm glad I asked my questions about sweetness levels since I usually don't like most places recommended sweetness. I learned the matcha latte here comes unsweetened which is nice. Most places it's too sweet. But I wanted a little sweet so I added a pump of simple syrup. Then I requested oak milk versus whole. And before I knew it, I had a $7 iced matcha latte that was the smallest size. I was fairly certain I asked for the 16oz but it appears I got a small per the label on my cup. I didn't notice at the time otherwise I would have asked. So I believe I paid for a 16 oz but got a 12. I love a good deal, so this was not that. A reverse deal- pay for more but get less lol. For those reasons I give 4 stars. Otherwise everything was good. Sounds like from other reviews the breakfast Sando with croissant is good. I had already had breakfast otherwise would have tried it. The tropical iced was good. Again, the price point not great. It's almost $4 for a tiny cup of iced tea. Y'all do know that ice takes up a large amount of the cup in an iced drink right? So it was good but could have been better.

I really enjoyed this cozy coffee shop in the mission! Abanico has a rich coffee/tea menu, and the space itself has comfy seating and tables- a great spot to WFH or catch up with a friend over coffee. I like how it's a slow moving coffee shop, I didn't feel rushed to finish my coffee and leave. It was very calm and chill vibes. I got the Con Espumita cubana- a small espresso with whipped turbinated sugar and it was so good, very rich!

"Coming here in the mornings is like being hugged warmly by the kindness and warmth of the ladies that work here in the mornings. The coffee itself is amazing as it has been but as I've been coming here to study, taking shelter from the crazy rain, or in a serious mood bc I'm on my way to work I've always left happier from the warmth this coffee shop gives to its customers and community"
"A cozy cafe offering sandwiches, pastries, coffee, tea, and smoothies. We ended up getting the disco blush smoothie (peaches, raspberries, strawberries, bananas & orange juice), groovy greens smoothie (mango, spinach, kale, banana, spirulina, and apple juice), the sausage egg and cheese biscuit sandwich, and the hustle sandwich (arugula, fig jam, prosciutto on ciabatta). The smoothies were light and refreshing, the hustle was heavy on the fig jam, which overpowered the other flavors but was still delicious, and I absolutely loved the sausage egg and cheese biscuit, as simple as it was, the breakfast treat satisfying and made with tasty ingredients, even the bread itself was better than expected, light and fluffy, and slightly buttery. Service was more than sufficient, and our order was ready in less than 10 minutes. Also, even though there was a farmers market going on around the corner, we had no problem finding free parking nearby on a Sunday morning."
"The almond croissant was flavorful, and the hot chocolate was delicious! The barista's hot chocolate art was so cute and thoughtful. An employee brought the drinks to me while I was injured, and that gesture was greatly appreciated. Thank you, Abanico!"
"Listen, any café that can make me forget I'm paying Financial District prices (almost) deserves recognition. Postscript, tucked away in Jackson Square where power suits meet creative professionals, is a story of hits and minor misses - kind of like a barista's first attempt at latte art.The hits? Their pastry game is strong enough to make a French baker nod in approval (my wife swears by their peanut butter and jelly cookies - and she's not wrong), and their smoothies could convince a juice skeptic to convert. The matcha hits that perfect sweet spot between earthy and smooth, and their bone broth might just be the FiDi's best kept secret for battling those fog-chilled mornings. The space itself is a winner - offering plenty of seating for both laptop warriors and client coffee dates, plus an open refrigerated section stocked with enough grab-and-go options to make your decision-making skills malfunction. Perfect for those "I have exactly 7 minutes before my next meeting" moments. Now, about those prices - they're playing in the "prime SF real estate" league, which is a tier above the regular "I guess this is San Francisco" pricing. And while most of the staff could teach a masterclass in customer service (shoutout to the gentleman who served me - impeccably courteous despite overcharging me), a few team members seem to have graduated from the "you're lucky to be here" school of hospitality. But here's the thing - much like how we tolerate the FiDi lunch rush for those perfect fog-free days, these minor gripes don't overshadow the overall experience. Between the quality of its offerings and the prime Jackson Street location, Postscript earns its place in the city's competitive café scene. Just maybe double-check your receipt - your end-of-month expense report will thank you later."
"Had a bit of trouble finding this location at first, not realizing that it's in the lobby of an office building, but once we got there, the quality was just as great as always. (I wish they opened a location in my office building!! Maybe someday...)Service was good. The barista was patient with my questions about their numerous espresso drink options. It was so hard to choose, but I ended up going with the Indian Summer. The cardamom was a bit grainy, but the flavor was delicious. The latte art was beautiful. They have a fairly strong breakfast menu, though I wasn't hungry enough, so I just kept it simple with a butter croissant. While there isn't an abundance of seats, it was a fairly easy place to focus and work from. I didn't see any outlets near the tables though, so definitely make sure your computer is fully charged!"
"4.5 STARSMatcha lovers know the struggle of finding a solid matcha latte in the city and beyond. Most neighborhood cafes I've been to serve matcha lattes that taste like milk with a splash of matcha made from pre-made concentrate. So, I will go out of my way and brave the anxiety inducing layout and parking situation on Valenica for Sextant. And, risk parking at a loading zone. Shhhh, don't tell DPT. Sextant makes a really solid matcha latte w/ oat milk ($8.75): https://tinyurl.com/4mf5xx7h Ceremonial grade, hand-whisked to order, the matcha latte is robust with a strong earthy vegetal bitterness that's balanced by the creaminess of the oat milk (Califia). So, why not 5 stars? The ONLY sweetener they have is sugar in the raw that doesn't melt in iced drinks. If customers are paying nearly $11 for a matcha latte (post tip), please offer simple syrup or soluble sugar substitute for iced drinks. TIA!O T H E R I N F O* Sextant specializes in Ethiopian coffee and roasts their own beans at their original SoMa location on Folsom. * This is their second location in the city that has a minimalist hipster vibe with limited seating, a mix of high tops and low top tables. Two benches outside. * Online ordering is not live yet. * Bottled drinks available. No pastries available yet.* Quiet with no music playing so you can get work done. * Free WiFi.* One restroom available.* Street parking can be a nightmare but more doable weekday mornings. Bart is just around the corner."
