I recently visited Bobaville in SFO, and it was such a cool experience! They have a convenient self-service ordering system where you place your order at a screen, and then your drink is ready for pickup at the counter. I tried the Taro (Purée +Milk) , made with fresh taro puree and milk, and it was absolutely delicious. You could really taste the difference--the taro purée was creamy, not overly sweet or artificial. What truly stood out was the quality of their boba. It's clear they make it from scratch. If you're in the area and craving some high-quality boba, Bobaville is definitely worth checking out.

Usually, Bobaville is fairly reliable for milk tea and boba, but the most recent drink was wholly awful. Ordered the HK milk tea and it tasted like slightly flavored water. I did order with almond milk, but also ordered 100% sweetness (I checked the receipt afterwards to be sure). Definitely needed to add quite a bit of sugar to make the drink palatable.Otherwise, my other experiences have been uneventful. You order from their kiosk (there's only one) rather than from an actual person, though you can ask the staff in back for customizations or for any questions you have. Prices are fair for milk tea these days, about $7-8.

Great spot for boba near the Upper Great Highway! Stopped by for a pick me up on our walk and were able to order immediately. We got a classic milk tea with boba, but since this was our first time we didn't really have a good gauge on sweetness levels. The drink ended up being a little TOO sweet for our liking (we went w 70%). I'd probably recommend 50% or below for people who like their drinks light sweet. No seating so grab&go, ordering is thru a kiosk.

Boba options looking pretty scarce in this area. Hoping Bobaville can fill in this spot nicely, but so far it's a bit of a miss for us. We ordered the classic house milk tea and their strawberry matcha. We stirred it well because everything is deconstucted (instructions and info on their cups). The strawberry puree was more like jam. We either tasted only strawberry or just matcha - no in between for the drink. The classic house milk tea was okay. I'm used to the grass jelly sitting at the bottom instead of floating at the top. Not an issue though. The store looks very minimalistic. No seating indoor or outside. Service was pretty fast. No real gripe about this though.

They are open on New Years which was great, since the other two places we tried were not. I love the handmade boba -- balls were a bit irregular but that's expected, they did have a great taste and perfect chewiness. Peach flavor was present but overpowering and surprisingly complemented the matcha well. Drink was perfectly sweet without adjusting sugar level. Service was quick despite how busy they were. There is no seating but there is street parking available, so we ended up just walking back to the car. The exterior almost blends into the rest of the building so we almost didn't find it at first.

Cute little shop. If you're not careful you can miss it among all the other little restaurants and shops. Service is nice and boba is delicious! It was a hot day so when I asked for a cup of water it was nice that they provided a nice cup with water and ice. Very sweet staff. I'll be back if im in the area.

Handmade boba is a real gamechanger. I was so glad to find refuge after walking blocks and blocks of boba-less streets. The menu looks almost exactly like the Daly City location which is my top 3. Glad to see this place did not disappoint.I typically order the plain drinks. Nothing overly sweet, like the HK Milk Tea. This time I tried the Matcha Latte. Much yum.

Found this little spot that has homemade boba, not something you see often. It's made fresh and is super warm when it comes in your drink. The boba has a chewy consistency that is different from the usual and reminds me more of super chewy mochi. I usually order the Jasmine milk tea with boba and even at 50% it is too sweet for me. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll probably like it here. They're always super quick at making the drinks which is a plus! Just note, no where to sit so it's more of an order to go.

You know, for the longest time, I used to wonder why there weren't more boba shops around the outer edge of the Sunset District. I get that the area out here doesn't get the same foot traffic as the stretch of Irving by 19th Ave, for example, but that's also my point - without much competition, and given all of the nearby schools, a good boba shop could kill it! So, you can imagine how delighted I was to see that Bobaville opened up their second location out here. Granted, I'd yet to try their original location in Daly City either, but I had heard so many good things about it from friends that I couldn't help but feel excited to see one pop up so much closer to me!Now, I should note that I'm fully aware that Eggettes offers boba and they aren't all that far from here. However, like several of my longtime, go-to spots on this side of SF, they seem to have fallen off over the years (or my taste has just improved). As such, Bobaville and their collection of drinks is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Sure, it'd be nice if they also had food offerings as well, but I'm not going to quibble over that. Not when nearly every variety of tea, matcha, smoothie, and coffee on the sounds so enticing! Plus, their boba is made in house, so huge plus points for that!-- ICE CREAM TEA - Choice of Tea (Black) with a Scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream...$5.25(https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bobaville-san-francisco?select=LQDRb2MBz1ULEKv_hDW4Zw)Pretty unique...and delicious! Given the ice cream, I asked for 25% and it was just right after mixing everything together. Surprisingly, the texture could've been creamier, but I liked how the ice cream complemented the tea rather than overpowered it.-- HONG KONG MILK TEA - Black Tea Serviced with Sugar and Evaporated Milk...$5(https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bobaville-san-francisco?select=D5e97dLNVULjYmSYjIpu3w)Not as good as the Ice Cream Tea, but still pretty solid! It was a little sweet at 75%, but not as sweet as other places' 75%. As far as taste goes, it was quite tasty, though the consistency was a little bit on the watery side for me.-- ALMOND TEA - Almond Flavored Black Tea with Non-Dairy Creamer...$5.25(https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bobaville-san-francisco?select=E8pk-BqxV_LBbeWN6TDEWw)I got this one at 50% sweet and it was just right - just enough to complement the almond flavor (though I wish the latter was stronger). I also added their Homemade Boba to try (+$.75) and it was fantastic! Flavorful with a nice, tender chewiness to it.-- MANGO KING - Ultra Creamy Mango Drink Made With Mango Puree, Mango Ice Cream, and Whipped Cream...$6.50(https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bobaville-san-francisco?select=5paQ6QpSojsspGeK-xTs5Q)I came for this after hearing so many good things from friends and it is SO GOOD! The consistency is perfect (super creamy but not thick) and it's full of mango flavors from the ice cream and the puree. One of my new favorites anywhere! In addition to their tasty drinks, another big positive about Bobaville is their staff. Every time I've been here, the workers have always been super friendly and seem genuinely happy to help when folks have asked questions. I also love how relatively easy it is to find nearby parking. Of course, it's even easier at night, but they close somewhat early (6pm on most nights, 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays), which is really the only "bad" thing about them. I mean, I get why (not many places out here stay open late), but if they were to close a bit later, I'm sure folks like me would make the drive from elsewhere just because everything here tastes so good! All in all, I'm not sure what I'm happier about - the fact that Bobaville has opened up in SF, that I've finally learned what so many other Yelpers have already known about them, or that they were as good as I had hoped. I'm not sure if I'd go so far as to say that they're my favorite boba shop around, but they're certainly one of my favorites on this side of The City. Yes, even ahead of my nostalgic favorite, Wonderful Desserts.FOUR AND A HALF STARS rounded up.

They were open on thanksgiving so we decided to grab some boba! They were unfortunately out of boba though :( Their drinks were good, but nothing spectacular. Ihe mango king is very creamy and sweet (even with less sugar), so I'd prefer a mango slush at Eggettes because it's more nostalgic to me. I will say that their boba is usually great, and I will be back when I'm craving their homemade boba+tea!
