Located in the space formerly occupied by Padrecito, Blue Barn's newest store continues to be the consistently good sandwich & salad shop we all know & love. Huge declaration time here: the Truffle is in my top five favorite sandwiches in all the land. Pepper turkey, brie, always-fresh roma tomatoes, seasonal greens, pickled onions, & truffle roasted garlic aioli on herb focaccia. All of the best flavors in one neat bite. Although I'm always tempted by their seasonal ingredients (pomegranate seeds & Brussels sprouts, I'm talkin' bout you right now), I inevitably always pick the same "fixins" in my U-Pick Salad -- cheese of some sort, either Ranch or Chipotle Agave dressing, & always always pinenuts, roasted beets, avocado, garbanzo beans, & tomatoes. I've been eating a variation of the same salad for over a decade. It isn't cheap, but it's worth it. Blue Barn salads -- so that's where all my money went.

If you want a sub par sandwich and you've got a $20 burning a hole in your pocket come to Blue Barn where they charge you $18 for a dry AF Club Sandwich (The Clubber)I'm always down for a good quality sandwich but I'm going to be honest.....I don't care what locally sourced products they stack on artisan bread, if it's dry, flavorless and yet somehow expensive AF they will never see me again!Once you get your bland ass yuppie sandwich, a drink (like not even a beer) and tip you are $40 plus down and feeling like you could have taken Muni went to Irving subs, got 2 yummy sandwiches, chips and a drink for LESS than Blue Barn.Oh and let me add this little gem...They rudely start their tip at 25% after not offering you SHIT!You get a buzzer to pick up your food. You bus your own table and get your own water which normally I'm fine with to help the restaurant cut back costs with having to hire extra staff (waiters, busters etc) , but for a $20 sandwich with a 25% tip I feel like I'm the one that should be tipped since I'm doing all the work! So where is that money really going...to the lazy ass staff that can't be bothered to smile or come from around the counter to bring your food?!JFC Cole Valley why did you choose to have this place service your community? What a sad choice after Padrecito!! VERY SAD! Save your money and your taste buds and go someplace else or just make the sandwich yourself! Lol! ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!

I am a long time customer of Blue Barn. Their salad combos are interesting and the leaves are always fresh. Their tomato soup? It's been on the menu forever for a reason. The only thing is that they can be stingy on the proteins and cheeses. If their prices were more wallet-friendly, I'd be here more often.

one of the best lunch places i could recommend! yes, the items are sort of pricey but i think they are totally worth it. the food always tastes fresh & i easily get 2 meals out of one of their salads! the options are endless off of their menu, and i don't think you can really be disappointed with whatever you get

I'm protesting Blue Barn. They partner exclusively with Uber Eats for delivery, which charges exorbitant fees. DoorDash is much better but they will not consider using them. Come on Blue Barn, get with the program! :)

There was a BOGO free salad deal on Uber Eats, so I finally decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Thai chicken salad, and it was delicious! I enjoyed all the different textures of the ingredients, and I was pretty full after finishing the entire salad. This salad was obviously a great deal because it was essentially 50% off. I'm not sure it's worth ordering regularly at full price though, especially because the ratio of chicken to greens wasn't so great. My partner got a sandwich and fries. The fries were surprisingly great - crispy and flavorful! But the bread used for the sandwich was low quality and disappointing. I don't recommend ordering a sandwich here. Get a salad instead.

Are Blue Barn salads expensive? Yes. Are they worth it? 1000%!We placed an online order at this Blue Barn location. The website was user-friendly and making modifications was easy. Our order was ready for pick-up 10 minutes after placing it.Food:- Thai Chicken Salad (sub tofu for chicken): Though pricey at $25, the quantity and quality make it worth it. The portion is huge, easily providing 2-3 meals. The vegetables were fresh, the wontons added a crunchy touch, and the peanut sambal dressing was delicious!- French Fries: Perfectly thin and crunchy! They taste like an upgraded version of McDonald's fries. The ranch dressing is tasty and perfect for dipping.TL;DR: Expensive, but you can get 2-3 meals out of one salad and the quality is fantastic. Definitely recommend the Thai Chicken Salad and Fries!

I've been to the Blue Barn in Corte Madera before, and I was happy to hear that one opened up in Cole Valley. Also, if you show your UCSF badge, you get 20% off which is super nice! I came for lunch, and it is a nice place if you need group seating. I got the tomato basil soup with a kid's chicken caesar salad and the table shared an order of fries with ketchup. We sat upstairs, which was cute and quiet. Since this is a new location, everything was really clean and the newly renovated space looked very nice. I loved the little touch of fresh cut flowers to decorate the space. The soup was a little salty for my taste, but it was creamy and the croutons and parmesan on top were a good addition. It came with a piece of herb focaccia, which was good dipped into the soup. The salad was the perfect side to go with the soup, thinly cut and fresh romaine dressed perfectly with ranch and topped with croutons, parmesan, and chicken. I was the most impressed with the fries, they were thinly cut, crispy, and perfectly salted like a better version of In-N-Out fries! These were so good, I'll definitely get them again the next time I'm here. My coworkers got the turkey sandwich, which they said was delicious. We're glad to have found a new place for lunch!

Stopped in for dinner tonight. Ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. I asked if they could do it grilled, instead of fried and they happily said yes. For $20 not including tip, it should come with something. Maybe a couple of french fries or really small side salad on the plate. It would go a long way to making the cost seem more reasonable. The sandwich itself was very tasty and clearly had good ingredients. The place itself is clean and nice. The staff was fast and friendly. The location is pretty ideal. They also offer great draft beers and wine as well as good sounding sides to go with your beer or sandwich.Maybe next time...

I ordered the detox salad with salmon with the dressing to be mixed in. There was hardly any dressing, totally lacking in flavor. The salmon was so small, it was ridiculous. And I felt so ill shortly after- I think it was tainted. Definitely not going back.
