Bitters & Bottles

Great selection both in store and online. Don't love that the parking on the street is paid, so normally drop by on a Sunday instead to pick things up. The staff is always courteous, but I wouldn't say the service is ever bright or warm. However, have never had any unpleasant exchanges or otherwise so that's good!Just an observation but the wooden floor inside the store is a bit creaky. Lighting is on the dimmer side.

A buddy told me to give this place a try. Not in south city very often but I really enjoyed the store setup and the no pressure sales environment fostered by the staff. I was primarily looking for a good bourbon store pick. The super friendly woman at the counter answered all my questions , we chatted about bourbon for a few minutes, and she even took the time to get my email registered in case I wanted to join their whiskey club. Overall selection on the not super allocated bottles was very good. A wish more places had such great service and vibes. 5/5

Bitters and Bottles has the hard-to-find bottles that are available in the US. I especially love it for rum!They have a lovely shop in South San Francisco. It's a little out-of-the-way but worth going to... and there is usually always a dog in the shop so that's a huge plus!They also usually do very nice barrel picks with great rum brands. So a Bitters and Bottles barrel pick is usually always outstanding. They employees are a little stand-offish but if you engage with them, they're nice.And they offer shipping for what I think is a very good price.. So check them out without hesitation!

The honey and I went to Xios a couple years ago with my mother in law, and this last year we did Athens.Mastic liquor is on the very short list of alcohol I truly enjoy drinking but also happens to be very difficult to bring over or find in the United States. Our last visit to Greece I picked up several different airplane bottles of different brands to try and Mastic Tears just happened to be one of my favorites.In looking for a supplier I found Bitters & Bottles, which has a location in South City, so I pre-ordered my mastic liquor from their website and picked it up as I headed back home.I loved that I had up to 30 days to pick it up after pre-order and was able to come in when I was on the Peninsula. I came in, gave them my name and was able to pick up my order, easy peasy. The service was fast and friendly, and I should have had my Lyft wait for me.All in all, I would definitely order from them again, and absolutely enjoyed my mastic liquor!

Great little liquor store with a very good selection. They have a good website that lets you search their inventory and the service is very good. The people working there are knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations and talk through different suggestions. They have a wide variety, but tend to lean towards quality liquor from interesting producers. This doesn't mean they won't have your mass market favorite, but it's less likely. If you're into the smaller producers this place makes it easy to find yourself pleasantly walking around looking at interesting bottles for quite a while, despite the shop being relatively small. This shop really has the feeling of being owned by someone who enjoys and cares about what they stock. The atmosphere is a little dark, but I like it. Everything is clean and well organized. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at times, be ready to walk a couple blocks when it's busy in the area.

Excellent selection of hard-to-find rum and other spirits. Good customer service. Nice Whiskey tasting too. Great to see such a cool store in South City.

We stumbled upon this place while exploring downtown SSF. They have a great variety of spirits including things like a strawberry gin from Japan that we'd never heard of, let alone seen, before.The prices are slightly high but not outrageous, and frankly, if you want to support local businesses as opposed to big box liquor chains, you can do that here and it won't break your bank.I appreciate the good customer service and knowledgeable staff. We had a bunch of questions about both gin and bourbon and found the staff helpful.

Had come in recently and none of the staff acknowledged us. Idk what happened, but I had shopped here for good presents, maybe a year ago, there was a nice woman that helped me buy a good bottle to give. However, the 3 guys that were there, didn't approach to ask if we needed help. I had raved about this place before coming in and wanted to support this local business, but not anymore.

I totally stumbled on this place on my manhunt for Wray and Nephew Jamaican white over proof rum. What a GEM of a place!! I mean they were out of stock of that particular rum, but I found a close second..... until the distributors decide to redistribute Wray and Nephew to California again. The store is beautifully stocked with every spirit imaginable!!! Amazing!! Super knowledgeable staff, friendly, parking kind of sucks, but if you have the patience, not so bad... Well worth it! I can't wait to see what other spirits I can educate and dive into!! Thanks Fellas!!

Love the array of liquors and bitters. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable in recommending different types of alcohol.
