Not trying to brag or anything, but I can literally (and basically do) eat pizza every day of the week. I'm always on the hunt for the next best pizza spot and I think I've found it. In a city where there is quantity but not necessarily quality, it can be hard to find a good slice. Barbara Express delivers just that... An honest to god heavenly slice of pizza!!!I'm not sure if it's magic, but the Roman style pizza is pretty crispy on the bottom but maintains a light fluffy cloud like texture up top. It's unlike anything I've had before and I highly recommend it to anyone whether you're in a rush or have some time to sit and enjoy a slice. The veggie was my favorite. It took first because It's not your typical run of the mill vegetarian pizza. They add a dash of butternut squash purée on top of sliced zucchini and onion which ties it all together. Runner up would be the diavola mainly because I'm a sucker for spicy. I added chili flakes which took it to the next level (you can never have enough spice!)The ingredients are fresh and you can definitely taste it. So for $4 a slice it's basically a steal. TL;DR: fresh ingredients, cheap slice, bomb ass fucking pizza, quick service. GO HERE!

I've been eyeing Barbara Express for a long time since it's opened and finally had a chance to stop by for a meal to-go. Cute, simple set up with indoor and outdoor seating and friendly, attentive staff. I was starving and probably went overboard, but I ordered a Porchetta Sandwich and a Sausage & Broccoli slice. Both were heated up before I took it to go and I was given the option to add or omit balsamic vinaigrette (I went for it). Both are fantastic! Porchetta sandwich had great textures from the juicy porchetta, crunchy skin from the pork, and crisp bread (I think it's basically the same as the base of their pizzas). I'm usually not a fan, but I'm glad I went for the balsamic since the flavor cut the fattiness made a well-rounded, tasty bite. Probably pretty dangerous, but I'm so glad that I have a porchetta sandwich option within reach of me. Sausage & Broccoli slice....I laugh because there was that Inside Out Pixar movie that made fun of SF and it's weird pizzas (namely broccoli), but this is pretty great and shouldn't be looked over. Again, great textures and flavors from each component from the chewy yet crisp crust to the creamy cheese and the robust tastes from both the sausage and the broccoli. Would recommend. Overall, great place. Excited to try their options, especially their morning pastries.

Had a slice of the mushroom pizza and thought it was pretty solid. They're square pies, kind of like at Golden Boy, but the crust is a bit crispier (as opposed to pillowy at GB). This isn't a value judgment, just an observation. I've found their hours somewhat hard to predict since I've wanted to try it for a bit and kept finding it closed.
