This wine bar is a must! The food? Tasty! The wine? A wide selection to die for. The service? Super friendly and attentive. The vibes? Immaculate, homey, and romantic all at the same time. Back to Back is a wine bar in Nob Hill that has a wide selection of wines, an extensive menu of food (pizza, small bites and entrees), and an intimate setting with beautiful views of the city. This is a great place for a first date, an intimate night with friends, or a special place to take your parents if they are visiting the city.

Back to Back is a cozy spot, great for groups to share and try a variety of flavors. The pizzas were solid, with unique toppings and a nicely charred crust. Our server was awesome--super helpful and recommended dishes that gave us a good mix to try.The chocolate cake was really good--rich and satisfying--the panna cotta wasn't what I expected from a traditional panna cotta. It was interesting and worth trying! The upstairs with music and vinyl added a nice vibe, making it a fun and relaxed spot to hang out and enjoy good food with friends.

I can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant where every single thing I ate was magnificent. Back to back just did it for me. At first I was not gung ho about coming here- nestled in a residential area parking was rough. We were there for a friends birthday and they had a minimum spend of $75 per person which I found ridiculous. The menu didn't wow me. Boy was I wrong. The food here is nothing short of amazing. There was not a single dish we did not devour. The dishes we ordered (all of which I would obviously order again)- Burrata - tomatoes were to die for!- kale - mix of crispy and cooked. So good- salad - obsessed with the dressing - house bread - like pizza crust! - hot honey pizza - perfect honey to pizza ratio - steak - looked more like a flank but still great - steelhead - loved how this fish was cooked - gnocci - the sauce was amazing The service was nothing to rave about but it wasn't bad. I didn't have a drink so I'm unsure of how the bar is. However, would 110% come back for food again. Delicious!

Such a good restaurant!! All items are made with such high quality ingredients making each dish extra tasty and flavorful. Getting a reservation can be tough at times but you can always eat by the bar or outside if you are doing walk ins. 10/10 would recommend this place. The food, service and ambiance make it worth your while.

I tried back to back for the first time on a double date. We arrived at around 7 on a Friday and were able to get seated right away. It did get quite a bit busier as we were leaving around 8:30 though and there was a line out the door. The ambiance is very dark and romantic. They keep the lighting low and have candles on all of the tables. They only had indoor seating when we went but it looked like they have some fold out wall tables outside so perhaps when it is earlier in the day or the weather is nicer you can sit out there. We started with the Mixed Greens Salad, which was the perfect size for 4 people. The avocado cream was amazing and we all enjoyed the mix of fruit and lettuce in the salad, giving it a nicely sweet touch. For mains, we split 2 That's Hot Honey pizzas, 1 Margherita pizza, and the Wagyu B2B burger. My favorite was the That's Hot Honey pizza. It had the smaller pepperoni that get crispy on the edges and the spicy honey added a nice kick (but not too much if you're sensitive to spice). The margherita was also quite nice and seems like a good staple for going back to the basics. The burger was great as well and came with a lovely aioli for dipping, special sauce, and grilled onions. The one thing I will say is the onions weren't quite carmelized and some of them were a mixture of crunchy and soft. I would still recommend it though. Overall, this spot has been added to my ever growing list of SF favorites and I definitely plan to return!

Back to Back in San Francisco's Nob Hill offers solid pizzas that hit the spot. I got a to-go order, but walked into a lively, wine bar ambiance filled with 30-something financial and tech professionals. The vibe was definitely more upscale and trendy than expected for a pizza place. Perfect for a casual bite with a touch of sophistication.

What a wonderful wood oven pizza place! I recommend going with a friend or two so that you can try more pizza flavors! The environment inside is really great and cozy, just enough room and a really cool setting with vinyl records playing. There's a great selection of different pizzas, and nice set of appetizers and shared plates. I wish we could have gotten to try more of their menu, but we got too full. I definitely would return to this place again and I highly recommend it. All of the staff are very friendly and attentive. I hope this place sticks around!

Great date night or girls' night out spot (we also saw what appeared to be work dinners there) located in Nob Hill near Huntington Park! Come via cable car, by foot, or by Muni. Love the vibes and music and service--very personable, fun, and funny.Tried the brussels sprouts for an appetizer--very delicious and filling. The Snob Hill and Thats Hot, Honey were also very good--are they supposed to be personal pizzas? We each got their own and I took 3 slices of mine home, but the table of 2 next to us shared 1 pizza. Whoops. (A table of 2 that came later had 1 pasta and 1 pizza--the gnocchi looked very good.) Prices seemed reasonable for the location. The honey of the "Thats Hot, Honey" was housemade and delicious. We devoured almost everything and also enjoyed the wine selection. I'm thinking of joining the wine club which has a monthly wine tasting, but I wish it wasn't an extra +$50ish for a +1 to the wine tasting :'( Still, I'm considering it! Will be back. Great addition to the neighborhood.
