Food was impeccable, service above and beyond expectations, and in a beautifully designed restaurant. It's not often that we have fine dining like this, in the sleepy part of the outer Richmond district. The Cauliflower appetizer could have been a main dish in itself, the flavors were on point. The cornbread is cooked in a skillet, that comes with its own honey butter spread. We will be back, highly recommended.

We went on a Friday night and didn't have a reservation but got a seat immediately! The ambiance was lovely when entering. We got two quite popular dishes: chicken basteeya and braised lamb shank. Both were super tasty. The basteeya had a hint of sweet on the crust. The crust was also very flakey. The braised lamb shank was sooooo tender. The balance of fat to meat was also perfect. Price-wise, Aziza is expensive. The food quality is excellent.

I was so excited initially to be celebrating my birthday here after years of having this restaurant on my places to dine in SF. Things unfortunately took a turn when I entered the restaurant and was rudely greeted by a man who was quick to inform me that if my party of six wasn't present, I would lose the table. He delivered this information in a very rude and aggressive manner, completely disregarding the fact that I had a reservation. This immediately put a damper on my birthday celebration. I was incredibly disappointed by his lack of professionalism and empathy, especially considering the significance of the occasion. I was there to celebrate my birthday and he really just put a damper in my night. He didn't even offer a solution.I hope that management will address this issue with the host (potentially a junior assistant manager) to ensure future guests have a more positive dining experience. Besides this experience, the food and service was great; however, I truly would not come back based on the interaction i had which just left a terrible impression for me and my guests.

TLDR:Aziza came highly recommended because I loved their sister restaurant Mourad so much, and Aziza truly lived up to the hype. This is a Moroccan restaurant in the Richmond run by the same chef as Mourad and with lots of similarities in menu as well. Come here for a laid-back yet elegant dining experience with fantastic service and innovative, beautiful food bursting with flavor. This made it in my Top 10 meals of 2024.------FOOD:1. [MUST TRY] Braised Lamb Shank (5/5)Super super tender lamb that fell right off the bone. Waiter said that the lamb had been braised for 24 hours allowing it to achieve this consistency and flavor. Flavor was spot on (slightly sweet actually) and the farro plus (I think) parsnip chips were a great complement to the rich lamb. This was just super fun to eat and I'd order this again in a heartbeat. I thought this easily could have been shared by 2 people. 2. [MUST TRY] Cauliflower (5/5)It's just cauliflower, how good could it be? I was so wrong. This dish was so wonderfully complex, and the first bite left me speechless given how surprisingly good it was. The cauliflower is deep fried in a light batter of rice flour giving it a satisfying delicate crunch on the outside. The muhammar sauce is a delicious addition to the dish that doesn't overpower the cauliflower. I could have ordered this for my main and been so happy. 3. Kefta (4.5/5)Comes with 4 small medallions of meat with a delicious smokey flavor. The grapes were actually kind of incredible because they were grilled as well and had a strong BBQ flavor that I didn't expect them to take on. Not a 5/5 because the smell was a bit strong for this dish, but the taste was significantly better. 4. Olives (4.5/5)A classic at these restaurants (here and Mourad). They give lots of olives both big and small, and the olives are generously dressed in a delicious olive oil with beautiful flower garnishes decorating the dish. They also provide an extra bowl for the pits. 5. Chicken Rouland (3/5)Only dish that could use some improvement from the night. Chicken was a bit dry and needed more punch, but the chicken skin was somehow made to be super crispy and the shiitake mushrooms on top of each chicken medallion was also strongly sweet (a little too much so I'd say). ------SERVICE:* We had the sweetest waitress this evening who was an absolute angel, and Octavio (who might have been the maitre d?) was another amazing character who checked in on us throughout our meal and made us feel so welcomed.* Our waitress walked us through the entire menu and helped us choose 4-5 dishes to share amongst the two of us.* Service overall was efficient and courses were timed out wonderfully * They were able to check our coats for us at the door------ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE:* Large restaurant located on the corner of the street. Definitely some street parking nearby but still plan ahead if dining at a busy time * The restaurant can accommodate quite a few guests at once, and they seemed to be flexible on party size* The interior was modern yet cozy with beautiful, simple decorations. This makes for a great date spot -- intimate without being too stuffy* Easy to have conversation and never got too loud, even when the restaurant was fully full

Such good moroccan food with unique and creative flavors/dishes! This is a great spot for any nice occasion and the servers were very attentive. They gave us great recs and we tried the Spreads (5/5 loved them, the flatbread was great too), Mussels (5/5), and the Braised Lamb Shank (5/5 tender, flavorful, even a little sweetness in caramelization). Just an overall great meal with flavor combinations that were different and delicious!

Aziza is the sister restaurant to Mourad, one of my all-time favs in sf, and it lives up to its heritage The interior is gorgeous, and delivers an elevated dining experience while still feeling cozy. Service is impeccable and most critically, the food is amazing.Shakshuka w/ Kefta:A wonderful meal to start your day with. Brimming with flavor. Every component of this dish harmonizes to provide a rich and hearty experience. This dish reminds me of a home-cooked meal and is extremely comforting.

Had a chance to try Aziza last night and had a really good dining experience. This place is very elegant with the cutest interiors which is perfect for a nice dinner. The service here was top notch and the food was yummy. We had a reservation at 8pm when we were promptly seated and ordered a variety of items:* Kefta - this was a highlight of the table and all the flavors went perfectly together. Would highly recommend to order this dish!*trio of dips - this was really yummy and came with a yogurt dip, lentil dip (I think) and a Muhammara. The Muhammara or the red colored dip was everyone's favorite. The bread that this came with was also nice but a little thicker and denser for my liking.* Grilled shrimp - This was also very yummy and I loved the char flavor this came with which was delicious. The sauce with this was also wonderful* Lamb shank - this was fall off the bone and very yummy. I loved that it was so soft and the couscous and salad it came with was yummy. The crispy sweet potatoes were also a great flavor*Basteeya - My husband liked this the most but the best way to describe this is a baklava. If you are into that, you will like this!* Salmon Tagine - the fish was very well prepared and soft and the curry was also good. I felt like there should be some carb that comes along with this though like rice or couscous* Branzino - this was a really well made dish that I thoroughly enjoyed. It came with the whole fish with a DELICIOUS sauce and veggies. I would definitely order this again just for the sauce. Highly recommend.*Harissa Cookies - these were really interesting and soft and chewy. The harissa gave it a nice kick which I enjoyed * Date Cake with ice cream - this was really yummy and soooo good. Hot and cold with lots of deliciousness. Definitely order this!Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend!

The presentation of my meal was captivating, with each element arranged artistically. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the ingredients complemented each other well. The service was exceptional; my husband and I had never dined at a Moroccan restaurant before, and the waiter (whose name I did not catch) assisted us in selecting some delectable dishes from the menu. This cuisine is truly exceptional, and we will certainly return. I am particularly fond of the ambiance, the décor is stylish, and the atmosphere is so welcoming. Thank you very much for making our evening unforgettable.

Loved the warm and intimate interiors. We didn't have a reservation on a Friday night, but we were able to snag seats at the bar - it was empty when we sat down. Honestly, it ended up being such a pleasant surprise--more private and just as enjoyable!Every dish we tried was fantastic. The mussels, squid, eggplant, and salmon tagine were all beautifully prepared and with lots of flavor. The salmon did take a little longer to come out, but the staff more than made up for it by sending us a complimentary dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending to an already wonderful meal.Highly recommend Aziza for its delicious food, warm ambiance, and thoughtful service!

A truly incredible experience from start to finish. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm, inviting, and elegant without being pretentious at all. We made a reservation for Friday night and we'Re pleasantly surprised to see it bustling and lively. We started off with the squid and corn bread for appetizer. I cannot recommend the corn bread enough!!! This was a standout dish on its own. With the melted harissa butter, the crispy corn bread baked on an iron skillet, I was transported to absolute bliss. We devoured every bite. The squid was fresh and tangy. Our entree favorite was the lamb shank which was incredibly soft and did not have a gamey taste whatsoever. The basteeya was unique, and the crispness and infinite amount of flakes in the exterior made it all the rage! The branzino was tender but lacked some of the complex flavor and char we were looking for. The shakshuka was pretty standard but the bread was incredible. Loved the Moroccan tea and cookies for dessert. We will be back!
