Avenue Fine Food Market

Found this hidden gem around the corner from our hotel. Less than 5 minute walk. This cute little neighborhood market didn't disappoint ! The deli sandwiches are top tier! The gentleman behind the counter who made our sandwiches didn't skimp on the meat which was nice! The older dude with the gray hair I'm assuming is the owner and he had a chill vibe and attitude! We demolished these sandwiches as soon as we got back! SO good! I would definitely recommend! I also really like that they offer fresh produce in the market. One stop shop for simple items and alcohol !

Great neighborhood store. Terrific assortment and wonderful shop keepers. This is a perfect quick, one stop if you are out of anything essential.

George, his wife Lil, and Kenny are more than a convenient grocer - they are the HUB for the local community and always provide service with a smile. That have a great assortment of convenience items, grocery staples, spirits, wineand beer, plus they make clean, straightforward deli sandwiches for less than $10! Sure, you can get some artisanal bread, truffle-laced concoction elsewhere that might be tasty, but for a lot more. We have lived here since the 2000's and sincerely do not know what we would do without them in the neighborhood! They kept us going during Covid when everyone else was out of paper products and other staples, and they genuinely care how about the well-being of their customers and the neighborhood. I don't write yelp reviews, but they have my highest possible recommendation.

I recently started coming to this place pretty regularly for sandwiches. The portions are sizable and prices are competitive, and the guy who I usually see behind the counter is pleasant and friendly. This evening, after battling through the rain and hungry for dinner, I finally got to meet George, who is apparently the owner.Different story with George. This man berated me over a thirty cent difference between the cost of my sandwich and the minimum credit card charge amount. He wouldn't charge me more to meet the limit, he just yelled at me that I needed to buy something in addition. Strange, I opted for the seventy-five cent upgrade of three small slices of cheese to get it most of the way there. Usually this thirty cent discrepancy is not a problem, and by voicing my surprise, he told me I was throwing the other guy under the bus.Look, George. You're entitled to whatever policies you wish to set. You're not entitled to talking down to or yelling at your customers. They won't return. You lost a regular over thirty cents. Nice going!

Avenue Fine Foods is such an amazing market. They stock all the best items people need...and, George and Kenneth go out of their way to provide exceptional customer service - the whole experience is 100% reliable and consistent! Thank you for being such a mainstay in our neighborhood!!!

Great place if you need a sandwich and snacks. George is a good guy, likes to complain but he has a good heart. Other two guys are friendly, and they have a great selection of alcohol.

Hate the grumpy old man with grey hair, VERY RUDE.Your better off going to a different store, his customer service was horrible.

Love this place!! They always have what I need and chatting with George and Kenny is an extra bonus. BEST sandwiches- great portions, great price, and absolutely delicious. My fav neighborhood market.
