Aurora Restaurant

Hole in the wall Yucatán style Mexican restaurant. I went in for lunch and the owner was very nice. She explained the menu to me a little bit. I ended up getting 3 tacos: 2 carnitas and 1 cochinita . She didn't have beef available today unfortunately. The carnitas were ok, they were in chunks and not shredded which was a nice surprise. The cochinita was the winner - very flavorful. I like how the tacos came with pickled onions and lots of fresh cilantro. The salsa that came on the side was spicy and flavorful, I really enjoyed it. Prices seem reasonable. She had the tv on very loud which was a little distracting and my water cup was pretty dirty. I would be interested in seeing what the other dishes look like. Overall, worth trying but I might give it more of a 3.5/5 than a 4

My first time here today and it was great. My gf got the cochinita pibil which comes with tortillas and it was tasty. I got four tacos: chicken, cochinita, and 2xcarnitas which were all good. I didn't find the salsa to be spicy. We had bottled cokes which imo makes it taste much better. The owner and staff is very friendly and are playing the best cumbias. I will definitely come back to try the mole de pollo!
