We had a big group meet there on a weeknight and the service was so prompt and accommodating! Cocktails were awesome, I opted for the Mezcal one. many in our group ordered mocktails and were super happy. Food was all delicious and so many gluten free options (I have an allergy). I didn't think the menu was marked GF but that is because almost everything is gluten free. There are 2-3 items that say "has gluten" in the description and everything else is Gf as is. That means empanadas and arepas! I was in heaven as that is hard to find. Will definitely be back to try all the options.

I ordered, ate, and paid within a half hour. I ordered tequeños and and an arepa cochinita. You'll never miss me skipping out on fried cheese or something with shredded pork. Their house sauces made the food even better too.

The place seems family owned, we met the son and father and they were so kind to our group. Food is bomb, live music, good aesthetic... it's the whole package. Big fan. The empanadas are probably the best I've had in the Mission. A bit small, but very tasty.Arepas were super! We came for happy hour to try a few menu items but weren't given the opportunity to order food; we ordered a couple of glasses of wine but after that initial order, no one looked our way again until we put on our jackets to leave (~20 minutes later) and then the server asked if we wanted to order anything else (note that there were only two other parties in the entire restaurant). It almost felt as if they were avoiding serving us and ultimately we ended up feeling extremely unwelcome.

I recently went to the weekly comedy show at Arepas - what a great show. They hold it in the upstairs are on Tuesdays currently. I loved the arepas. I got the one with black beans, plantains, and beef. I've had it here before. Go for the fried one over the grilled one, in my opinion.Also try their shrimp my friend had looked great as well

The food is excellent. The place is nice. The service is a failure. I suggest to get sociable employees. No hire friends or individuals that you are force to. This is a business not a government organization. Employees should be proud and happy to be part of your business.
