Went on a Monday for lunch, location is excellent, two blocks south of Nob Hill and two blocks west off of Union Square. Clean and welcoming restaurant with spacious seating inside and out. Decor was simpleVery please with all three meals. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly, salad was fresh and appealing to the eye. Meals were healthy portionsThe cocktail menu looked amazing and will be back for one another evening.Service was pleasant, quick and attentive when needed to be.

Before hitting the Regency for a Sango concert this last Friday night my friend and I stopped in at Aliment. It was past busy, with a large party of about forty people in the back being served an array of cocktails, all tables in the front seating area were taken, and we were asked if we had a reservation. So, I say make a reservation here if going on the weekend. After a little more than five minutes my friend and I were sat at the bar, ordering cocktails but being told that the bartenders were catching up on a large order of cocktails for a large party. From their mocktail menu I ordered the Mock Trail. It was sparkling and perfectly flavored with ginger and turmeric for me. If you find ginger and lemon juice to be refreshing, try this. However, I do hate their straws. I get it I get it, save the turtles. I still hate the straws, but I live to see another day. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place deciding between the flank steak salad and the wild mushroom fettuccine. Having to choose is criminal, but I opted for the steak salad and my friend ordered the fettuccine with steak, medium. I, for one, loved my salad. Arugula has that peppery taste that is paired perfectly with steak, so I knew it would be a pleasant salad but I do have one bone to pick. My steak, though done medium well, was just a bit too charred for my taste. However, the Parmesan cheese and balsamic helped to soften the strong flavor of the char. I never want that type of char on a steak again though. The fettuccine was creamy, hearty and warm to the bone. We also ordered the Parmesan truffle fries and they are so delicious. To be frank, they remind me of the Patatas Bravas from 620 Jones down to the sauce they're served with. It isn't a matter of who did it first, but man, I love truffle anything and these fries were savory. Couldn't keep my hands out of the basket. My friends and I came here before a show at the Masonic. One thing I noted is that they seemed overbooked and completely frazzled when checking people in. They kept telling people the only option was outside (where it was freezing) or to wait, which is what they told us at first, despite us having a reservation and a table being open at the entrance, but inside (in fact, when we made the reservation just 4 hours earlier, they had a staggering amount of availability for any time we wanted!). It leads me to believe that they either overbook or seat walk ins without thinking about the actual reservations. After about 5-10 minutes of them trying to figure things out, we were seated inside. This alone left me feeling not great, as I wouldn't want to come here and not know if I actually have a seat despite a reservation.We ordered drinks and decided to share food:*Brussels sprouts*Chicken wings*Mussels*Fries*Tempura shrimpI think because they were frazzled, the service was a bit odd in that it took a very long time to get our drinks (a good 15-20 minutes), and then the food came out right at the same time.The food was mostly good and to me, the shrimp, wings and sprouts were the highlight. The mussels weren't great - not bad, just not my favorite.

Great ambiance and very accommodating. We were scrambling for our reservation and made a few changes and they were patient with us. We needed a place for a not so big group of 6. And being the first ones there, I decided to order a cocktail and an appetizer , and it came rather quick. Fast not sacrificing quality. Had an amazing cocktail and I loved their fries. The rest of the food was pretty good as well.

This steak was absolutely amazing. The meat was so tender it practically melted in my mouth, and the seasoning was just right. The juices were locked in, making every bite so flavorful. The balance of char and tenderness was spot on, and I could not get enough of it. It was a perfect steak experience.

Just a disaster from start to finish. Everything was awful: the drinks, food, and service.Let's start with the drinks. We were forced to sit at the bar (more on that later) and multiple people sent their drinks back. It was very clear their bartender had no clue what he was doing and that was apparent from watching him make a tons of drinks and then having to remake them even worse the 2nd time. My cocktail tasted like gasoline. It was horrible. He just didn't know the recipe for any of the drinks and they were gross.But how did we end up at the bar when we had reserved a table? Glad you asked.We had reservation at 5:45 and they did not have a table for us when we arrived and said they might not have one for awhile. They just sat a bunch of walk ins without accounting for people who made a reservation. They said our only option was to sit at the bar or outside in the freezing cold. We sat at the bar and they never even wiped it down from the prior party. It was filthy. The food was not good either. The salad was drenched in dressing and was missing an ingredient (walnuts). The mussels were steamed well but the sauce tasted like Campbells tomato soup (maybe it was?). The burgers were dry and the quality of the meat they used was poor.Avoid this restaurant please. It really ruined our evening.Update: the business responded to my review below and clearly confused me with a different party as we never shared any positive comments to the staff and it was very clear that we were not happy that they forced us to sit at the bar despite having a reservation. Additionally we did not order a Hot Toddy or Spice drink and did not send our drinks back... A better approach would have been to reach out to me directly to learn more about my experience and attempt to improve and train your staff. The awful approach of this owner is very telling of the kind of establishment she is running.

Didn't get to visit Aliment but we had them cater for an event at a different location and they brought their sliders- SO GOOD.There was a good variety of sliders, with juicy patties, and a bun to match. After getting to try them, they are definitely on my list of places to visit on my next visit to SF!

I joined a very large group recently for dinner at Aliment that received high praise from several friends who previously dined here. Their assessments were spot on with something for just about everyone. To start, we ordered the Brussel Sprouts and the cheese and charcuterie plate. Both of these dishes were very good. A huge shout out for the Brussels as they had a very crispy crunch with excellent flavor. The charcuterie was very good with a solid selection of unique and tasty cheeses. A great way to start a lovely evening.I was torn from many options offered by our server and ultimately landed on the pork chop. It was cooked to perfection and very reasonably portioned and served atop a serving of the sweet potato mashed with a chutney. It had all the aromas and tastes that one thinks of during the Fall season. It was very good and cooked perfectly. I'll have this again and recommend you give it a try if pork chops are in your list of options.Aliment is slightly off the beaten path, but a very pleasant place to enjoy a meal, whether it be for lunch or dinner. The staff here could not be more friendly or attentive. If you miss dinner, not to worry as it is a solid spot for an after dinner beverage.I'm looking forward to trying one of their other entrees including their Fried Chicken which their staff raved over. I recommend you give this spot a try which will be a go to for me when in town and should be on your list of dining spots as well.Bon Appetite!

The location and ambience of this place was great for us when we visited! They had a large projector up with a game on but soft lighting and music for a relaxing vibe. The service was excellent! We ordered the steak salad and the steakhouse burger. Both were well made and cooked just right.

I ordered the mushroom fettuccine pasta with chicken. The chicken in the pasta was absolutely disgusting, it was not seasoned and it was overcooked. The pasta itself was really good, the sauce was delicious. That chicken was just abominable though. I also ordered an espresso martini and it was really good. The waitstaff was attentive. It was really dark in the restaurant, it wasn't horrible but the price didn't match the quality of the food.
