My friend recommended that we go try the restaurant over the past weekend. It is in SOMA and walking there might seem a bit sketchy. But, the inside of the restaurant is really nice. I ordered the belgian beer and carbonara, which were both very good. Everyone thought that the portions of the pasta were very good. We all left very full. The waiters and the staff were all very nice. One thing to note is that they do charge for water. We did not know until the end so we ended up paying about $35 for 5 bottles of water for a party of 7. I recommend asking if there's a different option if you do not want to pay. It was also not sparkling water.

In SF for the day and we wanted to try someplace new; 54 Mint looked good so we decided to give it a try. Oh man, so good! The place is just cool. The rustic brick interior, the distressed floors and old world decor (I just imagine "old world" would look this way ) was epic. We got the rice balls as an app - delicious. My wife got the Bucatini and I had the Fettuccine Al Ragu (pic attached), everything was amazing. The staff - they provided the kind of service you'd expect at a Michelin star restaurant. Our glasses rarely got below half full, fresh flatware for each course, they were absolutely first class. Great job 54 Mint!

This place was amazing! We walked in on a Friday night without reservations, looking for a quick dessert. The hostess was very accommodating and sat us at the bar near the bartender Jose, who was very charming and welcoming. We were celebrating two birthdays and my friend was craving tiramisu. I found this place on yelp and the reviews of their tiramisu seemed off the charts! We just had to try it! I had never had it served this way before, in a round cup. The first bite I took was so creamy that I was satisfied from that one bite. I let my friend finish the rest, and she did not hesitate! I felt like Joey from Friends in the episode where he doesn't like to share food, and couldn't control himself when he ate all of his date's chocolate torte lol "uh oh"Inside was nothing like I had seen before, where parts of the restaurant were downstairs, I guess with the way Mint Plaza is set up. It gave a bit of a New York vibe where you have to go downstairs for stuff. If you want to have a good time, sit at the bar and chat with Jose. He'll make your night :)

Located in a central location in SF, 54 Mint is an elegant Italian restaurant. We had reservations on a weekend and were seated right away. There was plenty of bar seating available and the restaurant was filled with couples and families. We ordered some burrata to start and I got the Bucatini, which was super delicious. The burrata was creamy and a perfect appetizer. The inside of this restaurant is very nice and well-lit, however, it is off an alley that is often littered with trash, so be careful when walking there.

I had such a lovely time here. I went here for a dinner with friends. We happen to find 54 Mint from Opentable. The vibes, food, and wine were all lovely. I wonderful find in my opinion.Upon arriving, I got a warm greeting from the staff. Our waitress was nice and attentive. I had the carbonara. It was full of flavor and a good sized. I left full after the meal. The only issue is the parking situation. The restaurant is located near a less favorable part of town. I parked at yerba buena garage. I recommend parking there because the walk to the restaurant seemed more pleasant than other parking options.

Had my birthday dinner here - the ambience is perfect for a special occasion or date night! Nice service (waiter gave my boyfriend a handshake on our way out haha), though it took a while for them to get to us initially. We enjoyed our pasta dishes and the wine!

Omg, the smoked Old Fashioned drinks. Jose at the bar is a maestro. The pastas - pesto, carbonara, bucatini....the lamb chops....the pannacotta and the tiramisu - all over the top. The ambience is "old San Francisco" and connotes the spirit of the 1930s - a gorgeous combination for comfort and ease. Impeccable service - Highly recommend.

I came here many years ago with my family and I remember everything being so delicious, but I dined here yesterday for a special valentine's meal. I made reservations ahead of time for the Valentine's Day prefixe menu. What was supposed to be an exciting a delicious meal fell completely flat. Bruschetta was served stale without being toasted and the topping was oddly fishy for being "truffle and burrata." The salad was okay. The Branzino skin was soggy and cold served with tasteless cous cous. The roast was decent but was not hot. The desserts (not pictured) were not great--the panna cotta was creamy but the lemon tart had way too much filling. Cocktails were also just alright. Overall, I did not feel like the meal was worth the $320 price. Very sad because I was expecting pasta to be an option and the table next to us looked like the regular menu items were much better.

The food here was really really good! We came here for a Thanksgiving special, and every single dish was exceptional, especially the fried pumpkin and the pumpkin lasagna! However, the only thing is that I would say the portions are very small for how overpriced it is $70 per person even though it is not a high-end restaurant. The service was great though, the restaurant itself is a little on the small side, we ended up sitting outside because there was no seating inside!

Might start trying restaurants before Valentine's Day--sometimes the moment is too big, and the lights shine a little too bright on nights like this.My wife pulled a plastic shard out of her mouth at 54 Mint's Valentine's event. A quick apology, the table cleared, and our meal continued--without silverware. Then, after I specifically asked for another traditional Old Fashioned, they brought me the smoky version instead. At that point, it didn't even matter--this one's for the books.I hope this sparks a conversation with ownership and staff about food preparation and customer service--because no one should have an experience like this on a night meant to celebrate love.
