Yelp took off my picture of the cats living in the produce. Went back to get packaged rice, smells like a litter box.

The 25th Irving Market's got a great selection of Asian goods.Ended stocking up here on some rare snacks and checked out their great selection. There's a bit of markup and it's a bit cluttered, but well worth the visit.

Great Asian market in a residential neighborhood which makes it very convenient. I have needed help locating certain items and the see ice has always been great. I am always impressed when coming here to see the wide variety of sauces to choose from. The prices are very reasonable and comparable to other large Asian markets. Fresh fish available here as well. I would have given five stars but when I arrived 35 minutes after they opened, they were still setting up. It was a holiday weekend so there were other customers waiting around.

I love to come here to get Chinese ingredients. They have almost everything. Dried ingredients section, fruits and vegetables section, fish and meats section and etc. I got what I needed and made the Chinese New Year sweet treats for my family. :)

I recently purchased rib eye slices for hot pot, dated 12/30/24, and had a troubling experience. Whoever sliced the meat wasn't paying close attention, as we found thin strips of plastic packaging mixed in with the meat. We didn't realize this until we added the meat to the broth, and saw clear and black plastic strips floating to the top. Upon closer inspection of the remaining meat in the container, it was clear that the plastic packaging used to wrap the rib eye had been sliced along with the meat. If it hadn't been for the black plastic, we might have mistaken the clear strips of plastic for glass noodles or fat, and potentially ingested it. This is a serious oversight that could have led to a dangerous situation.

Welcome to the 1960s!It's not just the decor which is dated but it's the 1960s for all sorts of wonderful reasons including lower prices on many items including fresh fruit, rice and canned goods. The store is very clean and the staff is kind. The cashier waited patiently and smiled when my son dashed back out to the vegetable and fruit bins lining the store to grab "double honey oranges" (he wanted to be sure I okayed him buying them.)I only bought a half pound of pork from their meat department but it wasn't adequately trimmed so I had difficulty slicing it for a stir fry - plus they were gruff (thus the loss of one star).Reliable grocery store in Parkside, I recommend.

Very helpful workers. I was waiting in line and asked if they have something and the lady at the cash register told the lady to help me find it. I appreciate that. -Honest review!

UGH I'd give them no stars if I could. Honestly don't know what happened to this grocery store (formerly known as Sunset Super) but it's one of the worst I've been. Gone are the discounted fruits and veggies, and in are the rotting foods, high prices, and very rude staff. I'd also like to know why they chose to employ a "security guard" at the door; basically a normal man standing in the already small and very narrow doorway marking receipts without reading it, checking bags, etc. I feel this money could be spent towards fresher produce, better staff, and just everything in there in general. As much as I dislike commenting on this, it does seem they are selective when checking also; my parents they do not, the grandma's and grandpas they do not, me when I come alone they do, the young non-Asian couple they do. Not to mention this clogs up the flow at the entrance and again, serves no purpose at all. Regarding items inside, much of their shelf items are near expiration so be sure to check those carefully before picking them up. I recently ran out of my favorite vietnamese ground coffee and every single one on the fully stocked shelf, was expiring in a little less than a month (imagine how long it's been sitting there!). The meats and seafood are discolored; the meats are rarely pink, and mostly gray especially if you go later in the day. I very strongly do not recommend this grocery store, will not be back, and it's very unfortunate how it's gone downhill over the years.

My uncle bought hotpot ingredients here. It wasn't bad. He's a boomer; he only knows old places. He doesn't know of the Gold Coin Trading or where to get snowflake beef. Can't blame him for being an old boomer. He tries his best. Let's appreciate that.
