I know what you're thinking--why haven't I rated Zito's Italian sandwich yet? Well, let me explain. First, Zito's is basically the king of SA's authentic Italian sandwiches, ruling both the east and west sides of town. My husband and I are frequent visitors (some might say loyalists), but in an effort to be a well-rounded sandwich connoisseur, I attempted to explore other options around the city.But let's be real--my sandwich safari was unnecessary. Zito's has been the reigning champ all along, and my husband knew it. So when he suggested our go-to spot (again), I caved. And honestly? I'm not even mad about it.The new location? Bigger, better, and much needed--because from 12 PM to 2 PM, this place is buzzing. The sandwich? Perfection, as always. Toasted bread with just the right crunch, tangy Italian dressing, and a masterful meat-to-cheese ratio that hits every time.And let's not forget the heart behind the food. This is a family-owned business, and it shows. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and clearly takes pride in their establishment. You're not just getting a great sandwich--you're supporting passionate entrepreneurs who truly care about what they do.I'd say I'm not playing favorites, but let's be honest--Zito's, you're winning.

I have been passing by this sandwich shop five days a week for I don't know how long. I finally stopped by for lunch on a Friday. I was surprised how much space they have inside. They have plenty of sandwiches to choose from. I am not sure which is the most popular, but they all looked amazing. They give you the option of bread. I was trying to be healthy so I did the wheat. I ended up trying their potato salad instead of chips. The potato salad was a little bit on the sweet side for me. They also sell macaroni salad. You can buy a pickles spear for $.25 and some olives. I had the tuna on wheat. It was a perfect lunch. I love the crisp of the bread. It was perfectly toasted. They also sell desserts, but by the time I was done, I was too full. Everyone was very friendly. The food came out pretty quick as well. You order at the counter and then they call out your number. There's plenty of seating. They have fountain drinks and tea. Parking is available on site for shared with the other businesses.

This place has been on my list for too long and I'm so glad I finally checked it out. This place has the vibes that go along with a local restaurant. Every employee was friendly. It was super busy during lunch, but the line moved quickly. I ordered the halfa serious. It was similar to a schlotskys original sandwich, but with Italian flatbread. The meats were really good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the flatbread. I definitely want to come back and try one of their hoagie roll sandwiches.

We came here about 2 weeks ago for late lunch around 1:30 so the rush was mainly gone. Potato and macaroni salad were 10/10!!!! My Italian sandwich was 10/10!!!! My boyfriend loved his Roast Beef sandwich(not pictured) We had our Tia from Buffalo, NY with us and she was shocked on how great her Pastrami sandwich was Can't wait to be back and eat more sandwiches

First time trying this place for lunch. Food was delicious. I got the Italian on wheat with a side of potato salad and also a cupcake (not pictured). The cupcake alone I enjoyed mainly because it was not overly sweet. The sand which was enough to have the rest for dinner. The larger size is just $1 more. Service was very good. The lady at the register was very friendly and helpful heb I told her this was my first time. The ambiance was what you'd expect from a deli I assume. Inside seating is pretty big and spacious. Bathroom was clean.

I really enjoy this sandwich shop. I keep to the cheese sandwich and macaroni salad, they have a hold on me. I love that it's not a basic grilled cheese sandwich. The avocado and Italian sauce really set it apart. You can order it as a small or large. Either way you're sure to eat every bite. I am madly in the love with the macaroni salad. It is a small serving but fair for the $0.99 price tag. I've frequented this place serval times and literally want those two items each time. However I don't doubt the whole menu being delicious. You walk up to order and walk up to pick up your food. They do take call ahead orders and have a separate line for those. The staff is decently quick and there is plenty of room to invite friends to join in on the tasty food.

Old-school feel to an old-school sandwich place! Plenty of parking outside, cavernous room inside with lots of seating. Picked up a pastrami sandwich, and while it wasn't on rye, it was on a good toasted roll. Pastrami had a nice kick, though sliced a bit thicker than I'm used to. Good amount of meat, dressing, and cheese. Definitely would return especially to try out some of the delicious looking desserts behind the counter.This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below.5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Yup. I come here a lot. I mean when they have debatably the best sandwiches in SA why wouldn't you. So the half serious sandwich has become my new love. I don't know why it took me so long to try it. But really any sandwich you get is amazing. Big seating area and the people who work there are so accommodating, kind and run a top notch restaurant. Go see them.

Ive been here 3 times now and it seems to just get better! Their bread is different than any other place I've been and I really like it. Quality meat and ingredients and I love the way they sizzle up the meat. Just writing this review is making me wanna go back already.
