I've visited on several occasions, mostly to pick up to go orders but have dined in for breakfast. I haven't had an unpleasant visit, but I haven't had a miraculous one either. Its pretty much plain and simple. The food is pretty tasty, but it usually takes awhile. Its not what I would call fast food, I am (a rare) very patient person. They have a family run atmosphere and you can tell they run the restaurant because they love cooking and need to get the kids through college. The place hasn't changed much over the years, but they did add a drive thru window for call in orders. That's my thing! I call in tacos about once a month for work meetings and I don't even have to get out of the car now. 18 tacos runs about $25 though. Also the new construction building ate z's parking lot. Space is now very limited without off roading behind the building. I'm interested to see if there will be some improvements to the dining room and exterior in the future.

I consistently get over-charged here. They sneak things on to your bill. "Would you like bacon with that?" Sure! Ah, that's an extra $2. The serving sizes have certainly shrunk since I started going here. The tortillas are lackluster, they look like they were bought from the grocery store last week. The salsa is tame- tomato sauce with a few chunks in it. Avoid.

Although I missed the Panamanian food day, loved the barbacoa taco. Definitely was not the standard and really had taste. The salsa ranchero is really awesome and perfect for the hojaldres.

There are not that many breakfast taco places that offer freshly made corn tortillas. I got a chorizo and egg and a potato and egg and the corn tortillas made it so much better! I also didn't realize that this is not a Mexican restaurant, but Panamanian. Good food! I will go back.

I really like this little joint and the owner is really friendly, she just doesn't have the help to keep her restaurant open all day and all the time. I think right now she is only open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6am-11am but don't quote me on that. When you place your order she literally runs to the back and prepares it for you and will make certain things right on the spot, fresh! Ask for the corn tortillas, she makes them by hand but if the place is busy, be patient cause she'll have to whip them up if she runs out. I usually order breakfast tacos and the chorizo is sooo good, has the right amount of vinigary tang and saltiness. I know people have complained about the prices but I think they're reasonable, I don't mind paying those prices to support small local businesses. Go give this place a chance for breakfast, just call ahead to find out the hours. I hope they never close their doors.

I prefer my tacos on corn tortillas, and this place makes them fresh the minute you request corn. Great service, great food.

Pricey compared to most mexican restaurants, (paid $12 for chilaquiles and coffee). More than likely due to location, (which doesn't make it justified!). Food was average, not much flavor, tortillas are not made here. They are bought from a bakery or tortilleria more than likely. You can tell by texture and taste. Inside was not clean, dirty floors, walls, tables, etc. I was the only one there, food came out warm at best. Cmon, for being the only one there, not very good. Definitely would not return. More than enough places around that have better quality food and cheaper prices.

Hands down, this is the best "Mom n' Pop" restaurant in Alamo Heights. The owners are really nice and they always make your food fresh on the spot. I do wish they had more help because honestly when the owner takes your order she literally runs to the back to make. Her little restaurant is great if you need a quick eat. There are always people there so it might take like 10 minutes for here to whip up your order. I love how she has an emphasis on Panamanian and Tex-Mex Food. Some of things on her menu I had never even heard of but it was full of flavors, and it was just delicious. If your ever in the are you have to check this place out.
