Yoshiya Umami Beef Bowl

For a smaller restaurant, the atmosphere was absolutely immaculate. Beautifully decorated with modern Japanese culture and traditional artwork, and kept clean round the clock by the staff. The service is either kiosk or counter service. Either way you get your food run out to you by the kindest people and they are happy to help with questions. I ordered the Yoshisoba which is like Yakisoba, stirfried ramen noodles with crunchy fried onion and vegetables. I added shrimp which was only a few bucks extra. Everything was reasonably priced. Drinks are bottled only but free self serve ice water. Would come again and reccommend to anyone looking for Japanese comfort food. Not like ramen or sushi but something really unique.

They may have a small menu, but I came here specifically for their beef rice bowl, and it did not disappoint. The flavors were good- rich, savory, and comforting in a good way. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the sauce tied everything together beautifully.My only (minor) critique is that I could've used a bit more beef in the portion, but overall, it was still good.

Wow, just wow! I visited Yoshiya's because the menu and pictures reminded me of a chain in SoCal called 'Yoshinoya's'. When I mentioned this to the owner, he said, "You can think of us as Yoshinoya's, only upgraded. And he was right!Yoshiya's is in a strip mall, there's plenty of parking. The place is small, with about 3-4 tables and bench+table seating for a dozen more against a wall. However it's very clean and I like the anime decorations! The J-pop or K-pop's played overhead is a little annoying but it does match the atmosphere.Service was fast and friendly, and DANG the food was good. Get the beef bowl with green onion and pickled ginger, you won't be disappointed. Also, probably the best shrimp tempura I've had in SA, it's got a delish sweet mayo sauce on it.Definitely I'll be coming back!This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below.5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. We DoorDashed our food. The food was amazing and still warm when it arrived. Their beef bowls are amazing; very tender meat and veggies cooked just right. We will definitely be making a trip to the store. YUM!

Been meaning to try this place, went on a Saturday around 1 pm and there were seats available! Staff is helpful and friendly!Brother ordered a Chicken Katsu Curry, which we both enjoyed at a level 1 spice - we have a low tolerance to spice and level 1 is probably the kick we just needed. I had a Beef bowl, which I did enjoy as well, if you like the sweetness of beef bulgogi, then yup this dish is for you! The tempura was not what I expected- was expecting the typical tempura with dipping sauce, and would probably order a different small dish next time, but it's not worth taking a star off the review.

This is now on our top ten places in town. I'm not going to say it's perfect, but when the owners and employees who run it love what they do it shows in every single detail. One tends to forget that Japanese food exists outside of the buffet style establishments in town. The place first of all seems like it is in Japan. The decor, the size and decor it just fits. My son loved all the anime and the shows on the tv. I'm not going to assume the young man at the restaurant was the owner, but he exuded excitement and kindness in explaining the menu to us. I've had most of the menu items at other restaurants, but the family had more questions than I had answers. He quickly and happily answered all of them. Now on to stars of the show, the food. We had Ika gesso karage, traditional beef bowl, volcano heat beef bowl, chicken Katsu curry, takoyaki, seasoned fries, gyoza, and miso soup. The small dishes were amazing! The Karage was amazing and crispy. The sauce it came with just elevated it in even more! The gyoza was also above average and the dipping sauce was also amazing. The least fav was the miso soup. I thought it was good, but the rest of the table wasn't use to the texture of tofu, and the taste of seaweed. Fries?!?? I know. I was skeptical but they were actually pretty darn great! A little tip sprinkle them with some of the chili powder, and dip in the sauce that came with the karage! WOW! All the bowls were great! The meats were perfectly seasoned! And the curry in the katsu was fantastic. Like I said at the beginning, no place is perfect. When we ordered, we were warned about spice levels. Just like most places, it was extremely exaggerated. My volcano had a very slight kick, but it had not heat for us. I mean it was delicious but didn't bring the heat. There were spice levels to the curry, we ordered a 3. No heat. I feel even the 5 wouldn't have been hot. It was all still amazingly delicious! The prices were fair, just don't expect super giant servings. We didn't have a problem with it. The man at register even mentioned making me some off the menu items next time. Trust me there will be a NEXT TIME! I'm still astonished why some of these places don't have lines out the door! Y'all all need to try this place!

Everything here is so delicious and it reminds me of Cocos from Japan! If you know what cocos curry is and love it, this will be your state side new curry love. We can't wait to keep coming back

The food here is delicious and comes out piping hot. Service is quick and the staff is so friendly. There are a few tables you can sit at if you would like to dine in, but the food is prepared to go. I got the curry udon with spice level 3/5 and it was perfect. The rice to curry ratio was just right and the beef was thin and tender. Definitely a must-try restaurant!

My first visit here! The service was amazing :) We were greeted by every employee that saw us and we were also thanked for coming in. I was craving miso soup, and they were able to satisfy that craving & then some. The sea salted edamame was fresher than most places & the chicken karaage was larger than most places. Im not complaining, the more chicken the better :) The restaurant's customer areas were clean and well-stocked.
