If for nothing else, the view! Right on the Riverwalk, the view is great! I had breakfast and it was standard Holiday Inn fare. I am never disappointed because I do know what to expect! The staff was friendly and attentive, the food well done and the atmosphere pleasant.

Since we got a voucher from concierge for breakfast buffet for $10, including tax and tips, we decided to dine in day before we left.I'm not a big breakfast type of person. It's either too sweet or not enough options for me. The breakfast sausages were not that good. I didn't like the eggs that much. The bacon was edible. I did like the waffles and fruits.Service was great but they weren't very attentive. We came back another time since we had free vouchers for wine or beer. Since I don't drink, it didn't matter but hubby and BIL do. We came and got some appetizers the night prior. The bartender/waitress was phenomenal! She is quick and attentive. The chips and dip were good. The wings were good.If I were to rate it for just the night service, I would've given it a 4 but because breakfast was not all that, I am giving it a 3. Stay consistent.118/2019

This is a 2 for 1 review. Based on Dinner Service( 1-2 Stars) and the Breakfast Buffet (4 Stars) in the morning. Needing to get the granddaughter something for dinner, we decided to stay in and get a couple appetizers for us and some dinner for her. She had the Grilled Cheese with fresh fruit. She had no problem finishing everything off. We went with the Queso and the Sliders. We are Queso snobs at this point in our lives, and when you see Chipotle and Gouda as the ingredients, how can you go wrong??..Well It was very wrong!! It formed a hard shell on top that took a spoon to break thru. Now the Flavor was good, lacking Chipotle for sure and got rock hard with in 5 minutes...Epic Fail!! We also got the Bacon Sliders to share. Those were pretty good. Burgers were a bit over cooked, but good flavor with crisp bacon. Lets Talk Service...Very Lack Luster for the night shift. When asked what beers are on tap...you truly shouldn't have to go ask what they are. Its something you should ask when you first get to work. Now for the Breakfast Buffet in the Morning!!...Spot on for what I am looking for. Service outstanding!!...Lots of options, Eggs, Potatoes, Bacon, Sausage, Biscuits, Pancakes, ETC...I made sure to eat my fair share to cover the un-disclosed $25 "Self" parking fee. We all left packed out and satisfied.

Restaurant is on the lower level of the Holiday Inn. Quickly seated and a smiling wait staff. Not many people but understandable due to location and the fact that they are many choices for restaurants in the area (Riverwalk). I ordered the classic burger. Food came out fast and was cooked to perfection. If you're ever looking for a simple easy meal within the hotel, this place is a good choice.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn on the Riverwalk for a getaway weekend. The hotel is lackluster and the breakfast buffet was average. The item that gets my 4 stars was on the bar menu! Happy Hour runs 4-7 daily and the Firecracker Shrimp make it worth a stop. Seriously - these were the best shrimp I have ever had. Quick fried lovely/-ness made the shrimp cooked to perfection and drenched in a sweet hot sauce served with a side of fresh and light tortilla chips. Wow! I could eat these often. If you are wandering the Riverwalk during happy hour these are even $2 off the menu price. At $12 (regular price) these 6 huge shrimp are worth it! Yummmm...now for another order! (I would give 5 stars for the shrimp, but the overall Holiday Inn experience drags down the tasty shrimp a bit. Don't stay at the hotel - just come for the shrimp!)

Local based restaurant but food wasn't that great. I got the filet mignon which was disappointing. Each bite of meat was a burnt and gassy taste. Came with a side of frozen veggies that were only heated up.The caesar salad was good. The steak salad was overdressed to the point where the lettuce was a droopy mess. The steak was good though. They said that the chicken noodle soup was homemade but I highly doubt it. Tasted like Campbell's straight out of the can. The pecan pie was overly sweet with stale pecans.Service was good but the plates were dirty.

A friend of mine wanted to try this place out- she bought the same coupon that the other reviewer had (it was something like $25 off if you spend $35)The restaurant is located in the Holiday Inn downtown and the restaurant validates parking! The place was empty- like Victor said, the place is a three-level restaurant. We were given the option to sit on the top level or the next one down. So we were in the middle. It was ok because the river is drained this time of year ... so nothing to look at (but during Christmas, I'm sure its beautiful)The menu didn't have many options ... but we found stuff. I had the Greek Salad (it was SOOO good) and I had the quesadillas (without the meat) they were very good. My friend had the fish and the Greek Salad as well. Then we finished the night sharing the brownie mudslide desert. Our bill (after the coupon) came out to $20.41 for the two of us- not too bad! This place was very nice- and I'd like to go back ... but only with the coupon.

Windows on the River offers a peaceful and elegant view of the river as it runs through downtown San Antonio.Located inside the Holiday Inn Riverwalk, Windows is a three-level restaurant with a menu that's not anywhere near as pleasing as the view.I had chicken fried rib-eye that was covered in a peppercorn gravy with mashed potatoes. This place makes good potatoes. The mashed potatoes were moist with peels inside. The chicken fried rib-eyed was bland, nothing to separate it from other chicken fried steaks. At $14 with a mixed vegetable medley. Simply not worth it. My partner had a steak ($19( that was good, but ordinary. Her french fries were seasoned well (again potatoes good). I wouldn't recommend this place. There's many other better places in San Antonio. The service was slow, unattentive and they seated us on the second level rather than first level with the river. An empty restaurant? Seat everyone all on the river please. Also it's located in a less than savory part of the riverwalk, so I wouldn't recommend walking the riverwalk from there.I had a restaurant.com coupon which made it a better deal, so if you're going here, make sure you get that first.

We had a nice lunch there. The waiter, Carlos, was fantastic. I don't think he was trying but was just naturally good at what he does. This was even so knowing I was a Brewers fan and he was a Cubs fan. Food was good. I had a really good pasta penne and family had burger, nachos, and chicken tenders. Price would be high if this was any place that wasn't on the river walk but reasonable for there.

Very disappointed by the management. I stayed a couple of days in the hotel and had several meals at the restaurant. One morning I joined my family at breakfast (they were already seated and eating) and I brought in my Starbucks. The manager would have none of it and wouldn't let me sit with my family. He cut me off rudely when I tried to ask him to make an exception and explain we were still paying customers. Then he chased me out of he restaurant berating me publicly in a walk of shame to the front even after I agreed to leave. It was only for 30seconds that I tried to convince him to let me stay, it was not like I was aggressively arguing. Then, when I saw how agitated he quickly was becoming, I felt very uncomfortable and immediately accepted his ruling that I could not sit with outside drink. Any appeal to show some sympathy and give me some slack since we had spent significant money at that restaurant was being taken by him as back talk and just made him angrier. I didn't stay long enough to even sit down and agreed to leave as soon as he refused my appeal to make an exception so I could sit with my family who were paying customers. The strong reaction, verbal abuse and his "escorting" me out (I was already high tailing it out on my own accord after his display at the table) while continuing to berate me in front of everyone was unnecessary and a huge overreaction. Meanwhile my family was left finishing their meal in silence with everyone looking at them wondering what we did to elicit that scene. It could have been a bad day for the manager but he was on a very short fuse. I can get his side that he didn't want me bringing anything from the outside. However repeat customers sometimes may ask for some accommodation and when it granted is good customer service. When declined, in a respectful way, is at least good customer relations. This low rating is because on that day they failed miserably on the later and made me feel like a horrible human being. Did it really warrant that treatment when I was complying? Was it so wrong for me to at least ask him considering to make an exception and give him some context for why I was asking? I can get the manager saying "no" I have never experienced at any restaurant the way he went about it.
