What The Waffle

What The Waffle is no longer available at their previous address at the Co-Op and does not keep regular hours. Their Yelp page was never updated to reflect this change, so I went to the Crosswinds address to check them out during "business hours" only to find that they were not there. I sent them a message on Facebook which they did not respond to for several days. In their return message they confirmed that they are no longer available on a regular basis and only do events (which will be posted on their social media pages when they are actually going to be at an event). I informed them their Yelp page had not been updated to reflect this change, and they assured me they would update it ASAP. Fast forward to a week later and I still see the Crosswinds address and hours listed on this page. I did an edit for the address and hours and submitted it to Yelp, but just in case anyone else wants to check them out, I wanted others to be aware that you cannot visit them at the Co-Op any longer and must follow their other social media pages for updates.Considering that the last Yelp review (other than this one) is from over a year ago, I would say this business is not an "active" business any longer.If I ever do actually get to try them out, I will update my review at that time.

Mom saw What the Waffle on TV and said we had to try it. I am so glad we did! The blueberry waffles were delicious, and the chicken wings were devine!!! Seriously the best chicken wings I've ever had. The mango habanero sauce was great, but the wings were so good I really didn't need the sauce. The food was so good and we ate it so fast, we didn't get a picture.

24 minutes on a preorder!! I was excited because I was looking forward to Chicken & Waffles all week & what I got was fried chicken drums & two waffles on a stick. Chicken wings were fried a tad bit overdone but the real problem was the consistency of the order was lacking. I got 4 drums & one flat. I asked for ranch as my dipping sauce but I didn't get a dipping container instead they drizzled the ranch over my wings like a presentation piece, offered no bag for my order, no napkins & they put the waffle sticks in the sane container with the chicken wings. I was expecting real waffles and fried chicken not wings & sticks. They have a great variety of waffle flavors. I went with the Cookie Monster made with Oreos crumbles. Waffle was nice and warm and it was great I wanted more like what a real waffle would of been like & maybe separate from my wings since it's not a traditional chicken & waffles plate. I wanted to like this more but I can't give this food truck more than a 3.5 stars which Yelp doesn't offer as far as a rating. Staff was nice and to their credit they tried to serve fast but 24 minutes is too long to wait for food when you only get 30 minutes to eat at work. It's also unexcusable since it was a pre-ordered days in advance. Not a good look at all. I feel they missed a golden opportunity to wow me instead of just a good experience. Also, the price of $14.60 before tip for the amount of food I got also didn't exactly make me feel I got my money's worth. Something was missing here and now I know why they are called What the Waffle because it looks and parades like a waffle but it's just a stick.

10/10. today the truck was on JBSA Fort Sam for a base wide event. i had the red velvet waffle with hot wings *chef's kiss* i'll definitely be back. i just wish y'all had a schedule for where y'all would be everytime lol

Arrived a little after one today but they were not open at Old Main Ice House. Schedule on Instagram advised they are open 12p-10p. No notification on Instagram about a delayed open. A waste of gas & time.

Absolutely fantastic! The chicken tenders are fried, crispy and moist, with great flavor, the sauces are out of this world, and costs .50 cents extra for more, the waffles are deep fried and drizzled with delicious toppings, depending on what choice waffle you have ordered, I would definitely say, go with the tenders and waffles. What an amazing experience!

We love this place. Chicken is good, love the options for waffles. Always an easy choice for delicious!
