Viola's Ventanas

First time at this restaurant and I must say we really enjoyed it. I see a few of the reviews complaining about the service but I'm glad to say that wasn't our experience. Food came out quickly. Everything was fresh and cooked well. We sat outside on a beautiful day so that helped as well. The flies were a little annoying but otherwise it was a great experience. We will be back again.

To start off, the food was flavorless. We waited 20 minutes just to be helped and the service was very slow. The "Spanish rice" had no flavor and the refried beans tasted like they were canned. The beef tacos had no seasonings and overall I won't be coming back. They force a tip even if all you get is 2 margaritas. It was not worth it for how expensive it is.

The service was not great. The restaurant was big and very nice. The food was disappointing. The chips were hard. Really crunchy. The enchilada plate I got was under the salamander too long. The sauce had a nice flavor but that was about it. I wanted to like this place but sadly I am not going back.

What a disappointment this turned out to be. Friends of ours were visiting from Florida and were dying to eat some good Mexican (TexMex)) food. Not too many choices out in Alamo ranch so we ended up here some El Tequila was closed (Monday). Service: 2/5 - waitress showed up to get drink orders and then was gone. Place was getting some large groups so I can understand why. Food: 2/5 - food took long to come and it was blah! I got the Chile Relleno (2/5), wife ordered the enchilada plate (2/5), friend ordered the asada plate ($30??) and his wife ordered a different enchilada plate. They thought it was ok. Ambience: 3/5 - Loud and dull. Nothing to write home about. Summary: One and done for us. San Antonio has lots of better and reasonably priced options to choose from. Apologies for not taking photos of the food and sharing but as stated above, not a big loss IMO!

Our church had a fundraiser meal on the outdoor space at Viola's. The setting was lovely and relaxing (helped by moderate fall temps). The standard food (chicken fajitas) and beverages were very good and the service was outstanding.

Quick service. We were a party of 8. Nobody had many complaints, other than the guacamole being a little light. We don't know if they did an additive or something. Also, for others future reference, they charge PER person to bring your own dessert. Didn't love that. However, decent portions. Cute place. Clean.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. Chicken fajitas seem like it was boiled not grilled. Rice look like it was scrapped. Services were also horrible. The waitress never check on us to see if we needed anything. Lastly, it didn't even seem like it was that busy. Never coming back even if the meal is free. Not worth it. Margaritas are very small too.

My beautiful wife and I were joined by our amazing daughter our wonderful son in law and our spectacular grandson at Viola's this past Saturday evening. We have always wanted to try this restaurant and the reviews were great. We were seated right away and began with chips and salsa and margaritas, which were delicious. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with creamy poblano sauce and it was amazing. Service was great and we all really enjoyed our food and the time we spent together. This is a great place for a family meal and there's plenty of room for a bigger event or family gathering.

This is a good space for hosting a lot of people because it's really spacious. The staff was friendly. I came on a Saturday and it was extremely busy. The food was okay, it's Tex-Mex food. I got to try the enchiladas, hard shell taco, beans and rice.

One of the few top tier Mexican restaurants left in town after Jacala burnt down. Everything I've tried is great, thier chips are incredibly delicious.
