Came here for a pre-marathon dinner with my dad, and was impressed with the menu offerings! From what I could gather, Vegan Avenue has been a long-time staple of San Antonio, which I was happy to see given how it can be hard for vegan establishments to hold on. For our dinners, I got the chik'n parm sub and my dad got the fajita plate. My plate came with a decent-sized sub and a plentiful side of sweet potato fries. My dad's plate was HUGE as well---with lots of veggie-based protein "mimicking" carnitas. We both found are plates filling and flavorful. I would have liked if they had bottles of ketchup versus handing out ketchup packets, but that was a minor concern. Highly recommend this stop for a unique and eco-conscious dinner out in San Antonio!

The food was SO good! They had brunch all day when we were there, and I ordered the Shrooms and Grits, which was absolutely delicious. My husband got the Cobb Salad, which was exceptional, as well as a side of Buffalo Cauli Bites, and he really liked those too. There was a lot on the menu that I would love to try! I thought the lavender margarita was tasty, although it didn't taste at all of tequila. Still, it was refreshing. And the outdoor seating area was really charming and comfortable. That said, the service seemed a bit hit or miss. The server kept showing up in the beginning when we were deciding, but then he was MIA when it was time to get our check. It wasn't exceptionally crowded, so it kind of felt like he might have forgotten us briefly. We also never got to see an actual bill - the server just told us what we owed. I don't like that practice because sometimes mistakes happen, gratuity is already added, etc. It seems like solid practice to offer a check before asking for payment.Still, this place was great, and I would definitely go back!

The service is always quick and friendly. And the food... almost every time I come to San Antonio this is a must stop place to eat. All VEGAN restaurants are so few and far between and to have one that does breakfast and its not just a tofu scramble is the best! We need more vegan breakfast options and Vegan Avenue delivers! The outside patio is super cute and inviting. If you're vegan or vegan curious, this is a must stop destination.

Just tried the Baja tacos for the first time here and they were delicious! Changed to vegan a year ago and always impressed when I find a place and food that exceeds my expectations.

Super good vegan options! Super generous portions of asada in the tacos with all of the garnishes and same with the asada fries. We went inside to order to go and was helped by super nice staff! I would recommend to anyone wanting to try a creative and delicious way of eating vegan.

Damn... when do these service charges stop? The dining experience was a mixed bag. There was a 4% service charge, but it's unclear if this is for credit card payments or if it is applied to all checks. The Mushroom Po' Boy was decent: the remoulade had a nice taste with a hint of spice, and the mushrooms were juicy and well-sized. However, the bread was just okay and the sandwich felt a bit small for $17.The Karma Curry Bowl, priced at $17, was a large portion with lots of veggies like broccoli and carrots, plus quinoa. It wasn't spicy at all, but it was a satisfying, hearty meal. Overall, the food was good but not exceptional (and it was extremely overpriced)

We came to San Antonio for a visit from Los Angeles and of course, we were looking for great vegan spots and Vegan Avenue was recommended to us a billion times so we had to swing by. Parking was fairly easy and decent to maneuver through, Customer Service was absolutely phenomenal and the Menu had so many great options to choose from, I wish I had many mouths to sample more items lol but there's always next time. We ordered the breakfast club with fries, tres leches pancakes with blueberries & Strawberries, a sweet potato breakfast taco and fresh squeezed orange juice. The breakfast club 10/10 it was juicy, full of flavor, and the fries were amazing.. this was super delicious!! A must try. Tres leches pancakes 10/10 they were super fluffy, sweet and the fruit on top pairs really well with it. The sweet potato breakfast taco 10/10 the tortilla wasn't fried (which I liked), it was a warm shell, sweet potatoes were soft and they did not skimp on them at all and the soft tofu scramble was seasoned great. I'm not a sweet potato fan but this breakfast taco was amazing!! I truly enjoyed it, everything was awesome. We sat off the main seating area and our waiter was very patient and genuinely friendly not the company's description of friendliness/politeness but he extended true southern hospitality that you can feel AND warms your heart. He was never overwhelming with checking in on us, he was a very very good waiter. Upon entering the restaurant we were welcomed with smiling faces and a collectively loud and hearty "welcome in". Our experience at Vegan Avenue was the best and we will definitely be back when we are in San Antonio again but if you're a native and want some delicious vegan eats, you have to try Vegan Avenue!! You can't go wrong and your tummy will thank you.

I stopped here on a road trip and was excited to find an all vegan restaurant. It was a little pricey, but the food was excellent. I just wish they were a bit more environmentally friendly.I started with a cookies and cream milkshake. It was very good. I can't remember the last time I had a vegan milkshake. I also had the Cheezy Mushroom Burger with sweet potato fries, since they were out of regular fries. The burger was amazing and they nailed the sweet potato fries as well. For sustainability... The milkshake came in a plastic container with a big plastic straw. There were also two ketchup packets on my plate when I was served. I get that it's a fast food place, but a bottle of ketchup would have been nice. For cost, the milkshake was $9, which felt steep. The burger was $17, but I've had more expensive vegan burgers that weren't as good. There was a service charge of 4%, plus tax and a tip. It was $35 for a modest meal for one, so it adds up quick. The atmosphere was very chill and lowkey. This looks like a fun place to go to with a group, whether it's at the bar or in a booth. Again, as a vegan restaurant, I wish they were more sustainable with the plastic and condiment packets, otherwise I enjoyed my food here.

Well, let me say, I'm not a vegan but after eating here, I could be one! Everything was amazingly delicious! The staff was great and the small, initiate venue was perfect for a mid-week dinner out. We shared the cauliflower "wings" and I had the fried oyster mushroom and grits. The cauliflower was really good but the fried oyster mushroom and grits stole the show. It was amazing! Can't wait to go back!

That's vegan? No way!Vegan Avenue is located on a tiny strip mall walk, with head in, limited parking. The space is quaint, yet spacious. There's a main dining area, an over fill dining area and a patio dining area. The staff PM staff is nice, the AM staff kinda had an attitude at first. I think she was frustrated because she was running late. She ended up being really nice!I came the night before and had such a good experience that I returned mid-day for more. Food Review: Sweet potato hash - very delicious, warm dish with diced sweet potatoes, black beans, kale, onions, peppers, quinoa and chipotle aioli. Sooooooo GoodLavender Lemonade - refreshing and delicious with a hint of lavender flavor. Ohhhh my gosh!Dragon Fruit Lemonade - sweet and yummy. 2nd Food Review:Grits - giant bowl of smooth, creamy grits with a subtle cheese flavor. No salt or anything needed. They are good.I tired it without the sweet butter first. However, that sweet butter is a game changer!Chicken Patty - What? That's not vegan! WOW! The taste is so freakin similar to animal chicken. The crust is crispy, meat is stiff, not hard. It's sooo yummy! This is my new San Antonio spot.
