Vaqueros

The food was delicious and the service was so friendly and accommodating. I had the chicken enchiladas verdes abs they did them on flour tortillas instead of corn. Best I've had! The cheese dip was perfect and hade a nice heat to it... nothing crazy like set your mouth on fire but very flavorful and it didn't get gloppy when it cooled down. The CFS was HUGE and my boyfriend said it was really good. Our server took such wonderful care of us and she was very attentive.

Excellent food and service. Egg yolks were a deep yellow like farm eggs, barbacoa was very tasty, potatoes were clearly cut fresh and not from frozen. Best corn tortillas, also homemade. They even had decaf coffee!

The carne guisada enchiladas were AMAZING looked for a place to eat while passing through town and this spot did not disappoint! Service was excellent. 10/10 recommend

Not sure why there are no reviews here. I'm giving Vaqueros 5 stars. CFS is made the way it should've. Tender with plenty of breading and flavor. Their Mexican fare is top notch with really good cheese enchiladas. My wife had the Mexican Plate.

It's a hit or miss, need to pay attention to people's order. To many mistakes, when trying to save money, the are just cutting the quality of the food and drinks.

Tacos were excellent and the chilaquiles were really good. The corn tortillas were the best - a must have. Will definitely come back.

Driving through Hondo. Stop here to eat, the food and service was great. Highly recommend. We had the mini taco plate and the Mexican plate.

We were head through town and hoped to stop for breakfast. Two of the places we saw were closed. I pulled up yelp and found Vaqueros. It's a little off the beaten path but not far at all. We drove the 5 minute trip and pulled up. No wait and we were greeted promptly. Service was great. We had breakfast. I forgot about to take pics. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. It was all homemade and cooked perfectly. Zero complaints. My wife had the huevos rancheros. She said it was great as well. Her only complaint was the beans were not as hot as she'd have liked. She likes HOT food. We were asked more than once if the food was good. They seemed to want to make sure we enjoyed it. I'll definitely keep this on my list of for sure stops!

Best homemade tortillas we have ever had! Delicious breakfast/brunch! Wonderfully friendly staff! Go there...you will not be disappointed! There is a reason it is in GOD's Country!!!

Food was delicious, fresh and homemade! This will be my new must have when traveling through Hondo. The staff were very friendly! Over all experience was fabulous!
