Toroko Sushi (Stone Oak) - Where Your Taste Buds Go to Achieve NirvanaI walked into Toroko Sushi expecting a casual sushi night. I left questioning everything I thought I knew about happiness.Let's start with the Lemon Special Roll--a roll so good, I briefly considered writing it into my will. If citrus had a masterclass in how to elevate sushi, this roll would be the guest lecturer. The lemon slices on top aren't just a garnish; they're a VIP pass to the freshest, most balanced bite of sushi you'll ever have. It's like the sushi chef looked into my soul and said, "I know exactly what you need." And he did. If this roll had existed in the Middle Ages, knights would have gone on quests for it instead of the Holy Grail.Then there's the Seared Salmon Roll, which is essentially what happens when salmon reaches its final evolutionary form. If regular salmon sashimi is a house cat, this seared version is a majestic lion, draped in umami glory, prowling through a jungle of perfectly seasoned rice. The slight char from the sear gives it a smoky depth, and the sauce drizzled over the top? I don't know what it is, but I suspect it contains at least three of my childhood dreams coming true.The service? Immaculate. The staff treats you like royalty but without the weird "yes, my lord" energy. Water glasses never hit empty, rolls arrive with a flourish, and they don't judge when you order more food than should legally fit on your table.The ambiance? Equal parts sleek, cozy, and "I could definitely pretend to be an international sushi critic here." Soft lighting, a peaceful vibe, and sushi so good it makes you reevaluate your life choices.Final verdict: If you live in San Antonio and haven't been here yet, you might want to reassess your priorities. If you have, then you already know--Toroko Sushi isn't just a restaurant. It's an experience. And one I plan on repeating as often as humanly possible.

Great experience! I was out with my daughter and she wanted sushi for lunch, so I had her find one that looked appealing to her and she found Toro'Ko Sushi. All she wanted was a California doll but ended up getting the kids' Bento: chicken teriyaki with rice, 2 PCs of fried gyoza, fried cheese balls, and fruit. It's a normal meal for her and she truly enjoyed it. She was too full to eat her California Roll so we took it home. I had a crunchy roll--minus the avocado and cream cheese. This was the first time I had hot sushi--it was fried fresh and served hot--absolutely delicious!!! Service was outstanding and highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good sushi roll. Their menu is pretty diverse so there's something for everyone and something new to try for sushi lovers.

My husband and I are constantly on the hunt for new sushi restaurants, in SATX! Being pregnant did not stop us because I craved sushi so much during my pregnancy. Ironically, this restaurant is right by my OBGYN office. It's a small restaurant but they also have outdoor seating! Interior is very aesthetically pleasing! To start, we ordered spicy edamame and shrimp tempura! My husband and I can be a little critical when it comes to sushi and the quality of the fish, mostly. We actually enjoyed our entire meal. I ordered the spider roll and it was delicious! My husband ordered sashimi and I also ordered unagi. Overall great experience! Prompt and great service! Definitely recommend!

I was pleasantly surprised of the quality of sushi here. The sashimi was soft and tasty and the rolls were delicious. The shrimp tempura was nice and crispy and the amount given was perfect. I really enjoyed this place and the service was outstanding. The restaurant itself was cute but not a whole lot of seating, but there was outdoor seating which was kinda cool.

I loved this place! I am definitely going back in the future. We ordered the Toro'ko Ceviche, the Toro'ko Special Roll, and the Scallops Roll. The Toro'ko Special Roll was our favorite, probably the best roll I've had in a while. Everything was very flavorful and had a good level of spice! The service was quick and friendly. It's a smaller space but they did a good job at getting tables in and out without a hassle. Everything was wonderful.

tried this place and was excited since it had good reviews and was super close to my church. we got the crunchy roll(not fried) and california's roll and it did not disappoint. the service and staff was amazing and attentive. it is a small place so when we walked in there was only one table available but i noticed they clean off tables very fast. i will definitely be back!

We hadn't had sushi in a bit, so we headed to @toroko.sushi for dinner tonight.Dad had Lemonade, and hubby and I had Kirin Light. Hubby and Dad shared the Shrimp Tempura. They make some of the best! Hubby had miso soup. We all shared the Soft Shell Crab and lots of sashimi. From fatty salmon, fatty yellowtail, escolar to eel. Ikura and Tamago nigiri. Just enough food for all. Always love the presentation! Never ever had the same ones.
