I heard good things about this place and read the reviews. I had been wanting try it out, and today was that day. I ordered a bean and cheese, bacon & egg, and a carne guisda. Three common tacos, so I know I couldn't go wrong for the first try.Well, the bean & cheese was good, the bacon was cooked to perfection, at least how I like it, and the carne guisda was okay, nothing to rave about in my opinion. So why two stars? Because the tortillas did not taste home made. They tasted like store bought tortillas right off the shelf. They had a kind of a sweet smell, sweet taste, and way too white for a home made flour tortilla (I know, weird!)As for the service, it looked like there was only one gentleman running the place and it took some time for me to get the tacos, so I assume he was the only one working.

Ok came back and it was nothing like the first time- the oil tasted old, the meat was dry (except for the fajita meat which was inexplicably stewed), and the beans were bland. Puffy taco fell apart. They were pretty busy.. whereas the first time I went in they were dead so maybe just try on off hours? Hit or miss.

This is the best Mexican food we've had while in San Antonio!! We've been here 4 weeks and tried many big restaurants and small and this place has been by far absolutely outstanding. It is off the beaten path but it is worth it!! Could post a pic since I devoured my food before this post.

Great little Authentic spot. Amazing home made hot sauce. This is where the old Hispanics go to eat. I had the classic cheese enchiladas. Nice folk here, owners been here 20+ years.

My favorite place for Mexican Food, my twin boy's will not go anywhere else either. I have been going to this place for about 30 year's now. I can not say enough good thing's about this place! They ALWAYS treated us like family and the food.... nothing less than AMAZING! Everything on the menu is great, especially the enchiladas! I remember when my twins were babies, as soon as we sat down and got comfortable the quates already had their food in front of them. They always put the kid's first! Homemade tortillas are to die for and the homemade hot sauce is so good it could be eaten by itself! Obviously my family and I absolutely love this place. Thank you Torito family for everything you do and keeping your doors open for so many year's for us to enjoy! I look forward to the next 30 year's! :)

Me and my daughters have been going here for 16 plus years. Sometimes eating here twice in one day. The food is always great, the service is great, love this place. The chili relleno plate is delicious. Everything on the menu is made fresh and from scratch. One of our very favorite spots. We drive from Med center to eat here. The Owners are so nice and wonderful.

I was having some custom work done by a shop on the Southside of San Antonio. I asked the guy doing the work for a good place to eat. He said, try out Torito on Presa. My daughter ordered the chicken tacos, my son had enchiladas, my wife and I split the fajitas. All I can say was wow! Was REALLY good food. I am Mexican and have eaten at plenty of places that are good. This place reminded me of home cooking. The tea seems to come from a boiled pot (old school way to make tea), the fajitas were super tender. Everything was really good! I would go back. HOWEVER, I would only go to this place during the day. From what I understand there is a bar next door and the place tends to get rowdy in the evenings. I could be wrong but this is what I was told. I tasted all the food and I would order everything mentioned above. The place is a hole in the wall and run down a bit, but I really don't care. If the food is good and tea is fresh, I will always go back.
