Torchy's Tacos

Our counter person today was freaking awesome! Super helpful, friendly and cheerful! I ordered the Mr Orange for the first time today. It was good but favorite is still the Baja shrimp. Queso is always amazing as are the chips!

We came here for a rehearsal dinner in the side seating area. Although we had catering, the food was delicious. If we had been in town longer, I would have returned and ordered many tacos. But the build-your-own tacos we had were pretty delicious in themselves. The lemonade was tasty, too.

The food was amazing wish I could of tried everything definitely will be back to try other items they serve the service was good no complaints the ambiance was great can have a conversation and hear each other was enough room to sit too you were not hitting others definitely got to come try this spot .

So I never really come to torchys because personally I don't care for their food. I feel like since this place is "trendy" it's overpriced for what you get. When taking my order the guy at the register was on his phone and I had to wait until he was done doing whatever he was doing on his phone. This taco was like $5 and something cents... the tiny piece of chicken inside was waaay over coated and the taco just seemed soggy. The one good thing I guess I could say was that the seating area was clean.

Tasted great! I'd get the chorizo egg all day on corn tortilla though. I think the menu changed and they don't have the various hot sauces anymore. We had sangria, tasted great and not too sweet! The tacos are quite large so you'll be stuffed. The chips and dips were decent, got a variety. Lastly we went and there was a trainee at the register, that was quite painful. I'd recommend to have them know the system way better prior to starting. Otherwise, I'd be back for more breakfast tacos!

Always love Torchy's!!!! This was a new location for me, and they were great. Efficient and tasty. Tried a new item for fun: churros. Was not expecting it to be so big! Definitely need to share it with another person. But it was warm and had dipping sauce.

Say what you will about this chain but we had a great experience at this location. The woman who took our order at the counter was very patient and kind enough to help us figure out the app. We ordered potato and egg breakfast tacos, the Baja shrimp taco (ask to sub grilled shrimp) and the chicken fajita taco. We also had a coupon for a free half size queso and chips. The food came out quickly and the place was very clean. Everyone enjoyed their food and we will be back for quick and convenient late breakfast/early lunch.

I will never quite understand the hype of Torchy's Tacos. Having been multiple times and trying now six different tacos from the menu, I have not once tried something I feel was worth returning for. I only ended up back at this location for a fundraiser and was just as disappointed as before with the fo sho and the shrimp taco. Torchy's throws way too many unnecessary ingredients into its tacos which leads to a hefty price for something that falls flat. I get there are lots of Torchy's fans out there, but I think the word "taco" is stretched and these people are looking for something that doesn't quite fit that definition. I will say, the drinks are strong and the staff at this location were all fantastic. Not only that, but everyone else in my party enjoyed their meals which is why I give it three stars, as I can't knock it based solely on my own taste preferences. If you are looking for something authentic, go pretty much anywhere else in San Antonio. If what you want is a Franken-taco with showy ingredients you won't find elsewhere, then Torchy's is for you.

I visited Torchys on Nov 15, 2024. I like Torchys even though I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food. I like the unique flavors and combinations they provide which are different than traditional Mexican food. I love the Mr Orange salmon taco and the shrimp taco. I find one to two tacos to be quite filling so when people say they are pricy, I disagree. You can get in and out for under $15 easily. On this visit I was treating my friend and wanted to protect my pockets. I was happy to see they had drink specials until 6 pm. We were in line at 5:55, so perfect right? By the time the cashier helped the people in front of us and passed out a to go order it was exactly 6. I asked if we could get the happy hour drink price but....denied I'm usually not a Karen about little stuff like that but we were in line and it was 6 on the dot according to all Apple devices lol. So I ordered water and my friend got a soda. Just on principle not price. The regular prices are fine but I was geeked about happy hour. I guess the cashier saw how disappointed we were because she gave us a coupon for next time. I didn't make a fuss because we were there for girl time. Maybe the system doesn't allow for the special price once it hits 6? I don't know but it was a bummer. Normally I'd give them 4 stars because the food was still good. But this location is also due for a remodel. It kind of looks like a big cafeteria with none of the fun of newer locations. So I just felt kind whomp whomp overall. Didn't even feel like taking pictures like I normally do. So should you go to Stone Oak Torchys? Yes but get there early if you wanna get happy

I visited the Sonterra location for a quick bite. I veered away from two of my favorites, the Democrat and the Trailer Park "Trashy." I chose the Tipsy Chick, which includes marinated, grilled chicken, spinach, grilled corn, green chiles, cheddar jack cheese with chipotle sauce. It was accompanied by a sweet, smoky, bacon bourbon marmalade. Everything is better with bacon, right? The other taco tried was the Crossroads taco. This taste of deliciousness includes smoked beef brisket. We are in Texas, and are known for loving our brisket. It also included avocado, jalapeños, grilled onions, a tomatillos sauce and the finishing touch of cilantro. It comes on a corn tortilla, but I opted for flour. All of the ingredients are made freshly made daily, and you can taste the difference at Torchy's. They offer a variety of refreshing cocktails, beer, fresh squeezed margaritas, and the requisite soft drinks and teas. Join the Taco Junkies rewards club? Don't mind if I do, because free taco is especially good!
