Ordered delivery so can't say much regarding the ambiance or service.Food was amazing. Been looking for something as close to authentic Thai food as possible in San Antonio and this was probably the best one yet. Portions were very generous. My particular favorite was the pad see ew. Noodles were cooked just right with great texture, ratio of veggies and protein were balanced, it was not heavily sauced, and calibrated to the spice level of my liking. Will be ordering from here again.

My visit to Tongs Thai was a pleasant experience overall. The servers were incredibly friendly, quick, and attentive. The atmosphere was casual and relaxing, with cute decor both inside and outside the restaurant.The food arrived quickly, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the taste. For the appetizer, I ordered the fried calamari, which I found to be too crispy and slightly burnt. It felt like one big crunch without much flavor.I also tried the Pad Thai dinner and the chicken fried rice. Both dishes were served hot and fresh, but I found them to be a bit bland aswell. They were decent but lacked the bold and savory flavors I was hoping for.For dessert, I had the fried banana and sticky taro rice, which were both delicious and not overly sweet. The server suggested pairing them with ice cream, and I think that would be a great choice for next time! I also had the watermelon boba and that tasted great! Would definitely visit again and try some other options, nice spot for family's or a quiet hangout.

It doesn't matter the meal, Tong's always hits on another level. One of the few restaurants I actually crave and routinely visit. Favorite Meal: white springs rolls (chicken & shrimp mix) along with the 4 Aces Soup. Sushi is really good, but I prefer sticking to the more "traditional" menu when visiting. Patio dining is a whole different experience and really makes you feel like you're on a smallish island. Big groups or little groups, I always enjoy Tong's Thai. **get Toast app for the rewards**

We wanted to celebrate my friend, Jane's birthday and had her choose the restaurant. She wanted to eat Asian food and she chose @tongsthai on Austin Highway.Jane tried the Thai Iced Tea and her husband, Eric, had the Thai Lemonade, which is a Thai version of the Arnold Palmer. We had the Pad Thai with shrimp, Land Combo Fried Rice (with chicken, beef, pork), Deep Fried Whole Red Snapper, Chiang Mai Noodles (Khao Soy) with beef, and Smoked Brisket Fried Rice. The portions are huge and intended for family-style sharing. Everything was delicious and we had extra food to take home to enjoy again. Nyuk was our pleasant server, who took care of everything from start to finish.

Excellent service! This restaurant is warm and inviting. We opted for Tom-Kha soup, Papaya Salad (also known as Som Tam) and White Spring rolls paired with the iced Jasmine Tea to keep our meal light after a long walk in the park.My friend and i thoroughly enjoyed every layer and complexity of our meal. It was pure perfection! I absolutely love Thai food. And this restaurant is quite authentic. I had only had Som Tam with blue crab previously, but the dried shrimp gives it a different flavor profile (just as delicious). We did Thai spicy, I love heat and this dish did not disappoint! The soup was aromatic and coconut-cream. Spring rolls had fresh ingredients, sauce was not too peanutty. Everything was delicious. *This is a must visit restaurant here in SA. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Looking forward to trying more of their dishes.

Everything was delicious.Kang Ped curry with chicken 10/10. Flavor. Spice. AMAZING!! If you cannot handle spice then choose medium.Chicken satay 9/10. Curry flavor. And they come with a sweet vinegar sauce and sweet peanut sauce so delicious!!Pad see-ew 8/10 . Noodle is more on the chewy side but the flavor was filled with deep soy and savory flavor. Beef was nicely seasoned/charred flavor. I will definitely return!The vibes and interior makes this place fun for dates and friends! Service was quick and we got what we wanted, which is a win for me!

Tong's Thai restaurant is by all means a staple of San Antonio!!! I was craving Thai food, so I decided to stop by!I was greeted with a warm welcome and seated promptly. The ambiance is tranquil and relaxing, a beautiful interior and exterior! It almost feels like you are in Thailand! My waitress was a fireball! Lively and upbeat! Before I talk about what I ordered, I want to mention that the portions are beyond generous!I ordered papaya salad & it was so fresh and tasty! The rice vinegar coupled the fresh papaya and other toppings very nicely! The steamed dumplings were filled with seasoned chicken and had a rich and zesty dipping sauce! The dumplings warmed my soul!The pad thai dinner had chicken, tofu, and shrimp + the traditional thai toppings! I ordered spicy, a tab below thai hot! Love the food here...had Shrimp Tom Yum (Spicy Lemongrass soup), Yam Nua (Thai beef salad), Kang Keo Wan Curry (Green Curry) with tofu...EVERYTHING was fresh, attractively plated, delicious and had generous portions. Excellent value! I've eaten outside and enjoyed the cute deck for outdoor dining with a koi pond. This time we ate inside. It was pleasant to dine somewhere that didn't have the music overpowering the gentle buzz of patrons chatting and munching. The server was kind and attentive and so were the other staff, especially the hostess.
