From the moment you walk into Tito's, you KNOW the food will be good. Great service, HUGE menu, and great drinks. This was recommended by a local and it did not disappoint. Probably the best food I had all week while visiting San Antonio.

We were down at riverwalk, looking for something that was Texmex and vegetarian. It was a Monday night, so some of the places nearby weren't open, others just didn't have many optionsSo we expanded our search to within a mile of where we were. This place came up, and met the criteria plus it had some good reviews. We decided to take a short walk up Alamo street - maybe about .7 miles with construction - and check it out. The place is large and very noisy (as others have noted) and doesn't look anything like the more touristy places in riverwalk. It's more of a local place as far as I can tell. But it was really worth the walk. There were many vegetarian options, and some fish. It was great. And the price point was good too. Around $12 for each dish. The only downside really, was the service was a little slow at times. But that was not a big deal overall. The waiter helped us make some slight adjustments for specific tastes, and verified the beans are vegetarian. Terrific. We had the Baja fish tacos, and two enchiladas - one shrimp and one spinach. Everything was tasty and we cleaned our plates. I'm telling you. It's worth the walk.

The food here is really good. But unfortunately this experience that I have had today was a huge let down. My wife and I waited here for 20+ minutes and finally the waitress came and said "are you ready to order?"... never once did someone come and ask what we wanted to drink (they did put water on the table when we sat). The only thing our waitress did when we were sat was give us the happy hour menu and leave. Then we waited for 20+ minutes for her to come back. Even after our order was taken by the waitress, she didn't come back to ask if we needed anything else like to clear our table or the empty cups or the empty chips basket... When our food was brought out we were not given our tortillas and it was nearly impossible to get her attention. I had to go up to the register and ask and finally she came to our table and asked if we wanted tortillas.... I came here with high hopes and expectations because the previous time my wife and I ate here our waiter was AWESOME! So shout out that guy who serves the bar room area. He's the goat. I would have tolerated waiting this long if she would've at least communicated that she was busy or something else besides us just waiting without a word said. Any who, I will come back... and if the service is better (which I hope it is!) I will update my review.

My family and I tried a variety of items at Tito's Mexican Restaurant. Prices were reasonable for a downtown San Antonio restaurant. Highlights of our dinner included the shrimp and crab tostino appetizer - it was piled high with a great flavor, the combo plate with a gordita, crispy taco and flouta was good, but next time I will order a la carte because I wasn't crazy about the rice. My mom enjoyed her shrimp enchilada and beef fajitas. We both tried one sopapilla with honey, but ultimately decided to leave the rest because we didn't care for them (we prefer fluffier sopapillas). I'll pass on dessert next time, but will definitely return. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meal and we had a great servicer who checked on us often and kept our drinks filled.

The service was great. The person that took care of our table was professional and engaging. The restaurant is in an old building and honestly, nothing special to say about is. The food was good. All 4 of us pretty much said the same, it was very under seasoned though. We live in north San Antonio so it's a bit of a drive to get to a restaurant that's downtown. With so many average Mexican restaurants in San Antonio I won't be making another drive downtown for average Mexican food.

We really enjoyed the food at Tito's - it's completely worth hiking here from the River Walk!Tip: The crowds aren't as crazy here as they are at the River, and they prices are better too :-)Service was very good, and almost everything we tried was tasty. About the only negative I can think of is if you eat the rice, beans, and tacos included with most dishes, you're going to need to do that walk several times to burn off all those calories ;-)

I'm a little ambivalent about this place. It's in a super cute neighborhood and a super cute space. But the chips are not homemade and have the texture of corn pringles. That's a tell for a Mexican joint. The service was fine. I had a lunch special of 1 cilantro crema chicken enchilada which I liked, and a crispy beef taco which was meh. The refried beans were okay.

Service. I live in the neighborhood and have eaten there once and done take out. Went last week as a single. There was a regular crowd with no wait and some empty tables. Was seated and waited 15 minutes without any acknowledgement by the wait staff. Two other groups came in one four top and one two top and received attention with water chips etc. Waitstaff was clearing other tables or visiting at the back. So just got up and left and went down the street for dinner. Oh well wont be back.
